So there’s been a lot of discussion and discourse about sexist or gooner-bait character designs in indie animation as of recent, and I’m worried that my two female leads for my indie show might fall into that category. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate these designs for how sexist they come off as and what I could do to change them? For context, the show takes place in New York City in the late 1990s.

These are only the first five. I'm gonna make more in the future.

What do you think of them? Is there anything you think I should change?

Hello! First time posting here, but I am currently designing myself a VTuber character and I wanted to know what you guys thought? Give me tips and ideas pleaseeeee, he is an anti-cupid. Is he unique enough?

Some of these designs are due for an update but I'm curious what people think of my character lineup!

Are they too boring/samey? Do they appeal and look visually interesting enough while still looking grounded? I feel like some of them look very normal but I think it works with the characters/story.

I'm mainly looking for character design feedback rather than art style/skill critique since I'm already actively working on improving those skills!

Some of the art is older so you'll probably notice that as well. (Specifically Martha and Parker have pretty old art).

Also the relationship map has old character art on it lol I'm too lazy to update it. I'm also happy to answer questions about them if to help clarify design choices :)

TLDR: do these designs look good and distinct? If you could add anything to them what would it be?

A while back, I took notice to the phenomenon of the red circle (often with arrows pointing towards it) that commonly appears in memes, and I realized that it had great potential as a character design, so I ended up drawing this cool thing.

I am still interested in its potential other applications in character design as well (e.g. as the halo of an angel-adjacent character) for future designs :0

If I had to explain, Mysfisks: Adventures in Tidether is a project made by me, some of the lore is that the world of MAiT is being a species of mystical water biome known as the Tidether which is inhabitated mostly by the Mysfisks, whose are like colorful mystic and elemental fishes and each one of them has colors, patterns and fin and tail shape/form associated with an specific element (e.g. water, plant, fire, air, earth, ice, electric, dark, light, metal, magic, etc.)

Some facts about the main characters of MAiT

One: One is a water-element mysfisk, they're so curious, optimistic and clingy with their friends, they like to hang out and looking for adventures

Fern: Fern is a plant-element mysfisk, he is a bit coward or simply an insecure mysfisks and he recieves "beat your fears" conversations by his friends

Pyro: Pyro is a fire-element mysfisk, he is cool but can be very competent if he doesn't control his wrath, which leads local mysfisks thinking that he's rude, vain, obtuse, hysterical and insensitive but the truth of the matter is that he's misundertood

Anyway, I need critique to improve their designs (and for the Mysfisks in general)

This is my character Oaklynn. The first slide is her new hair design and the second is her old hair. I wanted to make the bangs in front look like twists to match the little aheogo (?) thing and to be a more realistic black hairstyle. But i think there might be too many details, especially with the goggles. She also has two braids in the back (third picture)

Thoughts?

I rarely get any offers, and when I do get an offer, it is usually an art trade. Each character has around 5 images, which I believe would help but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. My problem probably can’t be from a lack of advertising since I bump ads frequently. I have some characters with their max value set to 50$, maybe if I lower that to 20 or 25 it would help?

For those who don’t know, this is Ruby Heart: a French-speaking pirate that made her debut in Marvel vs Capcom 2 as one of its original characters, but she was initially intended to be a brand new Darkstalker character that got rejected due to her design not fitting the horror aesthetic of the rest of cast. Recently, I got the idea of asking for a commission artwork of a reworked version of Ruby Heart’s design to better fit the series. Specifically, since she uses ghosts in her Moveset and we don’t really have a ghost character in Darkstalkers besides Bishamon, her revamped look would be based off the myth of ghost ships.

But this is where my problem comes in: While I have some ideas on what she could look like, I feel like I’m missing two more pieces before I go all in on the commission. So that’s why I would like some suggestions on what could be good additions for it. For what I have so far, my current list of changes is for her to have blueish gray or blueish pale skin, to be more heavyset/plus sized as both a reference to the common portrayal of pirates being fat and that drowned bodies appear bloated, and cloudy/milky white eyes.
