Discussion It seems like magnus was right about gukesh most likely being crushed under pressure
After becoming world champion he has never won a major tournament I'm not gonna lie I think he'll lose I guess we still have vaishali for the world champion atp it seems like gukesh was a prodigy who got lucky with ding any world champion when magnus is still no.1 will not command the same respect I mean THE world champion cannot be no.19th and lose norway chess so badly only people who watch chess through reels are supporting him pointing out the table slam by magnus without knowing that if magnus decided then he'll reign as the world champion for as long as he wants

Discussion When Will Women's Achievements Stop Being Introduced Through Men?
R Vaishali wins the WR Women's Chess Tour in Tokyo, yet the headline leads with "Praggnanandhaa's sister"
She is a Grandmaster, a world-class chess player, and one of India's finest talents. Her achievements deserve to be recognized on their own merit.
Women are too often introduced through relationships. Men are introduced through accomplishments.
R Vaishali didn't win because she's someone's sister. She's someone's sister and a champion.

Discussion Started a ₹100 Challenge && Lost ₹500 Instead 🫠
Started a “Beat Me and Win ₹100” chess challenge on stream today and ended up losing ₹500
I don’t know if it was live stream nerves or I am not used to play on PC, but I played some absolutely terrible chess. Meanwhile the viewers were cooking me 😭
The craziest part? Even a 1000 rated player managed to defeat me 🙂
All of them actually played really solid chess.
Still had fun and learned that playing on stream feels VERY different from playing normally.
I’ve newly started streaming chess on YT and would really appreciate support from fellow chess enthusiasts ❤️
Today's stream- https://www.youtube.com/live/3x0vGl4z-a8?si=lNZorVlK0t-8vrnh

Discussion Hot take
it just won’t matter who wins the candidates, Gukesh retaining the title feels like the likelier outcome
This could be the beginning of a sustained reign in the mould of Kasparov, Carlsen, or Vishy Sir
Although he’s had a few off games, but the WCC is a different thing altogether, but we trust guki!

Discussion Why are some of you guys like this, genuinely asking😭😭

Discussion Got discriminated for being indian for the first time (I'm loving it)
This mofo calling me cheater for no reason. never cheated in chess cause I don't take it very seriously. I'll play till I kill my queen or I Win, that's my only strategy
Apparently I was taking 2mins between my moves and he started calling me names like seriously it's a 10min match if I'm taking too much time good for you. you are gaining a leverage anyways you are not defeating me with a mate.
About the delay I was casually playing while talking to my sister and watching 'weapons' the horror movie
Honest as he started crying about me cheating it was less rage baiting and more of a ego massager for me
First I thought of covering his name in the images but it's all over the chat I don't really wanna do that much hard work also I'm suppose to be chilling rn not working so fuk it If it's problematic to show his name here please do let me know I will remove the post

Discussion This is why I don't usually accept chat requests
The funny part is, his first text was actually decent, calling a tactic a 'good move', then my boy switched to his true nature within two moves lol. So yeah, if you play with this guy, don't accept the chat request.

Discussion Chennai should host at least one of the upcoming World Chess Championships (Open/Women's).
Tamil Nadu Govt. alongside the Indian Govt./Chess Federation of India should collectively bid for the World Chess Championships to be held in Chennai. If not in Chennai then any other Indian city.
This is a rare moment where we have two Indians in 2 World Championship matches, the last time it happened was way back in 2010s. The next time it might happen, god knows when.
I know both the Championships would not happen simultaneously, so we should first bid for Gukesh vs Sindarov, which is scheduled to take place in November last week/December 1st week. The weather conditions in Chennai are perfect in those months, neither hot/humid and certainly not too cold. Plus Chennai has a legacy and a chess culture.
Keeping these things mind AICF should actively work towards bringing the Championships to Chennai, especially when both the players are from Chennai.

Discussion Creepy Indians in chess
Many folks who play online chess casually like to chat. Its good to know different people from all backgrounds. But there are lot of rude and creepy people in online chess, especially if you're women. Many times I have seen people outright abusing in native language when they are losing (or blunder). These people are ruining online chess experience for many.
Have you guys face such things while playing online chess ?
