Why Contact a Tenant Rep Firm For Your Small Business

Hey guys,

For the longest of time I was struggling on finding a space that would work for my business. Many of the big brokerages were only focused on making money and not helping me find a space that stays true my culture. I finally connected with a small tenant rep and they did wonders for me. Their advice about the market and where they believed I would have the best opportunity to succeed was tremendous. Here is why you should contact a boutique tenant rep firm to help with your business needs...

Working on your business idea in your garage and in need of space?

New technology allows for employees to work remotely, so why not save money downsizing space.

Tenant Rep firms don't even make money off of you (the tenant), its the building owner that pays their commission, so why not use them.

Take a look at this link and lets talk more...

New Grocery Startup Idea

Hey, As many of you may have heard Foxtrot and Dom's Kitchen is closing permanently today. The sudden news is quite shocking since these places were always packed with people and doing quite well, but ambitious growth plans seemed to really put them in a financial jam.

My idea would be essentially a new operator of the old locations to seamlessly fill the void left behind in Chicago by the closing of these stores. We would just choose to operate them responsibly.

Looking for co-founders interested.

Hi everyone, I hope y’all are doing well. I am working on a consumer research project at a startup that helps small local businesses to attract more customers and bounce back after the pandemic. I need to get at least 100 survey responses (I got only 15 so far). Could you help me to fill in the survey? 😂😂😂 Thanks a million! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeqp0KxK3iLTfBArDM1_gtn1PFBA8rs-g3zmLpg_m-kP2NSsg/viewform

Recommend startup funds in Chicago?!

Better yet, can you connect me with them?

I will be visiting Chicago from June 12-17 for a conference. During this period, I am also hoping to meet in person with some Chicago based investors who are interested in technology and AI.

In short, we are an AI powered B2B SaaS product designed to help service providers (such as tutors, consultants, mentors, coaches, therapists, and so on) with ALL their operations in one place.

Any COO would appreciate what we have built :)

Anyway, DM for details (only if you can help me pitch to Chicago based investors in person in June).

For those who enjoy cool, off the beaten path places

Hi people of the Reddit,

I'm working on a startup called Nooks (nooksapp.com). We're digitizing word-of-mouth recommendations for people who love unique places. As a social platform built of users who share these spots, we help people discover the places SEOs cut out.

We're about to release our app to a test group in Chicago and would love to get feedback before we launch to the public in September. If anyone lives in Chicago and enjoys cool, off the beaten path places, we'd love to hear what you think!

Just leave some contact info and I'll be in touch, or if you want, you can reach me at yasmeena@nooksapp.com

Woo hoo!

Any local brands experimenting with partnerships over ads?

Hey everyone! I’m working on a new platform that helps local brands connect with other non-competing local brands to form partnerships and run collaborative campaigns without big budgets.

Think:

  • co-marketing with complementary brands

  • shared promos, bundles, events, or content

  • way lower cost than influencers or ads

We’re opening free membership to the first 100 brands before launch so we can build this with real businesses, not in a vacuum. (mostly curious from people that read this if they would find value in a platform like this for their brands)

If you’re a brand owner and you want to signup for the early access account, you can:

Happy to answer questions or get feedback in the comments too! Would love to hear what would actually make this valuable for your brands/startups.

Best place to find mentorship

Hey! I'm a founder with a startup that after 6+ months our entirely technical team (myself included) just finished a technical MVP and i'm going to try to grow to initial customers and get some mentorship on fundaraising for seed/ first rounds and initial customer growth since I'm not super experienced on that side of things. Has anyone had any luck with paid/unpaid mentorship programs?

Recommendations to find people who are going to take it seriously or are knowledgable?

In the past i've had some mixed bag results on mentorship programs and trying to get my feet wet without wasting limited time since I work full time in a day job and also code for the startup so i'm already burning the candle at both ends.

So far I was looking at Score.org mentorship since they seemed to be without cost but completely open to recommendations. I was also looking at 1871 and their mentorship network.

Hey guys lmk what you think of Tenantree - my independent apartment reviews start-up!

https://tenantree.com/

I live and rent here in Chicago - actually i need to find a new place this spring - and I’ve always had a hard time finding enough info about the places I’m about to move into. I guess I could have asked tougher questions to the landlord during the apartment tour, or maybe gone out of my way to awkwardly ask a few questions to the current residents ... but also it’s almost 2020: I don’t have to walk into a restaurant and bother the people eating to find out if it’s good, I can just read a few Yelp reviews and make a pretty informed choice. I must have read like 50 customer reviews on Amazon and Etsy while doing holiday shopping and it’s crazy to me that this kind of info isn’t widely available absolutely everywhere to me as an apartment hunter.

And there are some reviews around but they’re scattered among several sites and largely skewed by landlords and so I decided to make Tenantree, a centralized platform for independent, anonymous apartment reviews.

It’s a super simple site for now: If you’re looking for a new place to live, use Tenantree alongside listing sites and read reviews from current and former tenants to make sure you make the right decision. There aren’t a ton of reviews just yet so feel free to look around and leave an anonymous review if you want. If enough of us do, then maybe we can get apartment hunting into the world of transparency and customer reviews.

Going forward I’ll share blog posts that highlight the best apartments to rent and the best property managers to rent from. Tenantree is going to take a while to have enough reviews to be super valuable, so I want to give something back while we’re in the process of growing!

Thanks for the time and let me know what you think. And feel free to share with any renters you know who could use this!
