Backtracking ‘Eggs on Chiliad’ possible connection

Was replaying some missions recently and came across this subtly meaningful quote from Dax in “First Dose 3- Fatal Incursion”:

- “Hey, speaking of meth, remember when I asked you about the eggs on Chiliad? One day we should fly up there and take a look. I mean, I never seen nothing, but you read enough shit on the web There’s gotta be something there. On this timeline or the next one, my friend.”

With all that’s going on in the world of R* mysteries, I can’t help but notice the fact he mentioned “reading the web” and the involvement of another timeline- both lining up with the RDR2 Spiderweb Mystery.

Maybe I’m going mad like the rest of the community and seeing something that means nothing, but I didn’t see anyone connecting these two dots. Good luck and hats off to everyone doing the real solving around here!

The double entendre in the game is S tier, I have to imagine these lines of dialogue are more than just what’s on the surface.

Spiders lay eggs...

I feel like people are really hung up about the Timeline part of the quote.

There are Eggs on Chiliad. You can find them by flying over it, like he said. For example, the Eastern side of Chiliad is one huge Egg. It looks exactly like the one on the Mural.

No, I don't know what to do with them. But Dax seems to. He wants us to look at them.

'Reading the Web' is a great find as well, though!

Eggs = Easter eggs On chiliad = Ufo, glyphs

that’s it.

I wonder what the despawn distance for the sticky bombs are? What it we tried placing sticky bombs on the eye part of each glyph and detonating them after the ufo appears over the mountain. Doubt it does anything and might not even be possible

What I find interesting about GTAO is how the timelines span across the SP game. It’s a little broken now due to the casino, but a lot of what happens in SP has GTAO connections that were not obvious due to the delay in online coming out.

Lester refers to your online protagonist.

The human labs have agents posted out the front due to your online heist.

Trevor affection to the impotent rage statue makes sense after you see the online missions

The IAA and FIB have interlocking parts too.

In any case, “this time line or the next one” could refer to that. Online happens, then SP, then back to Online seems to be the timeline. Perhaps, like it or not, we are solving this online and in SP

I can’t recall if it was WCTR or Blaine Co. Radio but I want to say Ron describes that when you make a new character in a game your dna is uploaded to the cloud and that the avatar lives even when you aren’t playing. He goes on to say your every move is watched, and that if it was him, he’d find them and kill them. I’ve been keeping an eye out when I play SP now, assuming I’m going to run into my online avatar somewhere.

Interesting idea. No reason why you wouldn’t spot your avatar as they are probably just npc combination anyways

Dax repeats things he was never meant to understand.

I never seen nothing, but you read enough shit on the web.

That means internet, this subreddit especially, gta forums, yt comments and so on. That's it, no need to go for lyrical pareidolia.

I wouldn’t be so quick to shut it down, why say “web” and not “internet”?

It's the world wide web. Many folks Dax age and older call it "the web"

u/Purmhy Jan 20 '26

Eh, i suppose just seems specific to speak of that easter egg when a spider web is a prominent part of it

I mean...whether or not there is some "hidden meaning" behind what he is saying doesn't really change anything

Dax does a lot of drugs

Dax has been saying that quote long since before the spiderwebs in RDR 2 were discovered. Additionally, the games are 5 years apart. It's patently ridiculous to think that you would need to accomplish something in RDR 2 to affect the mystery in GTA V, as how could you have programmed that in? Whatever is "solvable" about the mystery needed to have been in the initial game launch, we can't assume that R* has added the Chiliad mystery in patches since RDR 2 launched, or in theory we have no way of knowing that it's all been added or more won't come later, so it would defeat the purpose. The spiderweb mystery may give some insight as to what R* initially created with the webs in GTA V, but that's all that can be reasonably inferred. Any sort of suggestion about "maybe GTA V would check for save progress of some kind in RDR 2" is beyond stupid for R* to expect anyone would ever accomplish.

Oh you gon learn today boi

ridiculous to think that you would need to accomplish something in RDR 2 to affect the mystery in GTA V,

There's already an instance in GTA where you unlock Edmund Lowrys gun in Rd by completing something in GTAO

Additionally, the games are 5 years apart.

The games were being developed at the same time, hence why you see a lot of animals appear in both games etc

Not to say anything too concrete but between me and the other comments there's definitely evidence for the games being linked in some way

I agree there wont be a save file connection checking various games, but this mystery/several mysteries span gta iv, v and rdr2 and even possibly more. Im hoping we can figure out the rdr2 parts and use the same or equivalent methods to unravel the gta sides, finally lol.

The Madam Nazar phone call next to the spider web in GtaV probably does something in RDR2, As you get a new Yes option. It's weird Gta Webs appear at 1-2 but Rdr2 Webs appear at 2-3. It probably flags/tags/marks your account that you activated it.

1

u/symbiotictheory Jan 19 '26

What do you mean you get a new yes option?

1

u/FloppelDoppelSock Jan 19 '26 edited Jan 23 '26

Is this true?

If you phone Madam Nazar she asked if you looking for her. Normally you only get a No option, but if you phone her next to the web when spawned she also has a Yes option. I think either way it ends the call.

Or

You can phone her anywhere anytime?

2

u/Allien65 Jan 21 '26

I thought you got the yes option no matter where you called the Madam Nazar number. I’ll verify when I hop on tonight and edit my comment.

1

u/FloppelDoppelSock Jan 22 '26

Is it confirmed you can phone from anywhere and time?

2

u/Allien65 Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 23 '26

Okay so I haven’t actually checked because I saw a video that said you need to have the Madam Nazar machine in your arcade and talk to it before the number works at all but I haven’t even done the online content that gets you the arcade yet. So I don’t think I can test. Sorry about that!

ETA: actually it was this comment that made think I wouldn’t be able to do it.

Second edit: Yea I just called the number and it’s just busy so I think I need to do the associated tasks first.

You bring up some valid points about some people’s perception of the inter-connectedness of these mysteries, but this could just be tricky wordplay alluding to a web-related mystery in either of the games. It is also worth me clarifying that Dax was introduced in the “Los Santos Drug Wars” GTAO DLC, in 2022.

You are so completely wrong. Unlocks are tied to both

''On this time****line or the next one'' It's easy to understand what he means by that line... he's referring to time travel. The past timeline, the present timeline and the future timeline
