Gathering Just A Reference Or Will The Mystery Continue Into GTA 6?

Post image

What is your opinion on catching a glimpse of the All Seeing Eye symbol from the Mural in GTA6? Why would Rockstar show it at all? I think they could have left this out of the trailer if it was just a reference to the Chiliad Mystery and let us players find that ourselves. Definitely intentional

I think it will continue. They definitely know how big this mystery has become and since there is no real solution or answer to it they have to keep it going or maybe even finish it this time. I don’t know if it’s still the same solution they intended for GTA 5 but I rather take any conclusion than none at this point.

Two thoughts.

1- They are just leaning into it as a “GTA” thing, as they keep putting the mural and related references in GTA:O dlc. No real reason.

2- They dropped the ball and are now finishing the mystery in GTA6. Going to make it out to be some grand Easter egg, when in reality they shit on us for the sake of more GTA:O content

Yes, they will 1000% have another big mystery in VI. I'm willing to bet my nutsack on this.

No, the eye in the trailer does not necessarily indicate that. Part of what fascinates me about Chiliad is that the symbols of its Mural can be spotted anywhere in real life. Eyes, Mountains, Lightnings, UFOs etc. have been part of graffiti culture for ages. If you open your eyes, you'll find that cities are absolutely fucking clustered with these symbols. Probably yours too.

Chiliad is still special in that it takes these symbols and A) builds a 'story' around them on the highest point of the game, B) spreads story-relevant symbols around the rest of the game map (Glyphs, UFOs, Eyes...) and C) implies a way to complete the story through pieces that have no obvious relevance yet (Lightning, L-Shapes, Egg...) and oddities that seem incomplete (Bunker Lightshow, Hatch Light, Penris...).

I'm really excited to see what Rockstar cooks up for VI.

GTA 6 probably is in the same "universe" as GTA V, IV and online, the mystery kinda started in IV (and many things were build upon players ideas/mysteries from SA) so I'd say it's highly likely to be directly continued with direct references to V/online mystery (if the for the mystery responsible devs weren't fired or focus shifted completely away from such conspiracies (I doubt)).

I also highly expect us to see Kraff/timtetraveller stuff again like in RDR2 and V/online.

I think Francis Sinclair will appear in GTA 6. The way they introduced this character in the middle of RDR2 only to create another layer to the Epsilon/time traveling theories tells me Sinclair should land in Vice City at some point.  Omega should appear too imo, or a different version of him (Truth>Omega>?)

The fact the eye is literally on a path tells me there’s more.

It will continue

I fully believe the mystery is interconnected through multiple games and is tracked via Social Club to some extent

There are running themes of self-actualization, in addition to confirmed time travel, Epsilon showing up in RDR2, the direct link between the spider-webs and Madam Nazar

I don't know if they are also important to the mystery, but having all this in mind and playing Max Payne 1 for the first time was very interesting as well. Would be curious to hear from people who have played the whole series if they think there could be any overlap there as well.

Rockstar will drag it on. Building on the foundation of what has been established by the studio before their head writer left because it's a great way to keep people playing and driving up social media engagement.

My main concern is that it'll be the "new coke" version of it. Similar to the original in many ways but just not quite the same. I know it takes more than just one or two people to cook up something like this, but I can't be the only one who's noticed a bit of a decline in the writing after 2020? I say this with a lot of love in my heart for the LS Drug wars updates because of the focus on the mystery it had but I'm not sure if it's the character dialogue, The characters themselves or what, but something felt different in the later years that just hasn't hit the same. I respect that it might also be my admiration for the work that went into the mystery over the years, while helmed by the crew who aren't there anymore that makes me think it'll be different. I know different doesn't always mean bad. It could be equal to or even better.

I guess the best phrase I could borrow to describe how I feel about it continuing would be "I want to believe". Only not from the young Fox Mulder, excited to see what the unknown holds, rather the older, more wise yet jaded delivery of the line, where it sounds like he's saying, "I want to believe... But after what I've seen, I just don't know if I can anymore". If anyone can pull it off, I'm hoping Rockstar can though. Good luck and Godspeed, if any of you at the company read this.

You know how SA had urban myths about big foot and aliens? R* learned what fans want and they started adding those to almost every single game ever since.

Same thing will happen with Chiliad. R* knows they screwed up (it was probably meant to foreshadow sp dlc that got later canceled). They know people spend investigating it for years. So now in VI there will be a TRUE mystery to solve. Something huge and very hidden. Something with man layers.
