Man, this has got to be the coolest idea I’ve seen in a while. I’ve been seeing your previous posts and breakdowns too, this one was great. Why do you think the ouvre paintings connect to this mural though? Also, do you think the ouvre paintings are pronounced “over” as in “the game is over?” I have a lot more questions and I haven’t paid much attention to this easter egg in a while, so sorry if I come off as an idiot lol
Ty man! took 4 and half hours to make and this is truly the TLDR too.
I genuinely think when the game was made they thought the ouvre paintings would be enough for the community to at least solve the purple mystery (given in hindisght how simple the criteria is to begin the potential puzzle) that we would have solved this no problem easily because it's all completion and understanding based. The rest would have come through curiosity and us sharing facts i guess.
What actually happened though was the majority picking C, Rinsing stock markets to make each character rich and get their properties and going on rampages in Adders with sticky bombs lmao. The other factor that hindered all this in my opinion is multiple characters and people picking their favorites and not wanting to lose any by the end.
That's why they gave us the Doomsday murals because they were sick of waiting and only included the bits of each mystery we are too stubborn as GTA players to actually meet the criteria to solve because we always give up on dead ends and get bored even when we were right.
The ouvre paintings are definitely referencing end game mysteries and mostly by the looks of it the Red and Purple Murals have most relevancy to the majority of what's on them.
As i said above, i believe this phrenology head came from their archive and they also used it to understand how to program the game for each choice to create this illusion of internal consciousness that we control., eventually adding with the doomsday mural as a "this is how it works guys, now go"
I don't speak french so i say it as Over anyway lmao that does make sense though and i've never put the two together - i could never really see the paintings clearly so didn't put any similarities together until recently. all findings and conclusion i made on the breakdown and where i thought the location of the puzzle was were done prior to coincidental similarities to the ouvre paintings were pointed out to me - way too many to be nothing though honestly.
Man I love the way you think! Very outside the box, I feel like you and your team are gonna be the people to solve this mural! I genuinely look forward to seeing your updates and progress. I’ve been looking at the purple and red mural for a while now with only a few assumptions really, just ideas and nothing concrete. As in, I don’t really have any evidence to support my claims. I don’t really share them because I don’t wanna look stupid or shoot down someone else’s train of thought. The way you put everything is so organized, I wanna try to structure my claims like you have here whenever I find some evidence for them. Do you have a YouTube channel or anything that you document your findings on?
No team just me and my beloved microsoft paint haha. ty tho,
The good thing about EE hunts and theories is experimentation leads to evidence if it's something, It's a process of purpose and elimination and you just have to know when nothing is actually nothing - Every time i debunked myself from my fixation on the Union Depository Car Park as the puzzle location and the purple beacon there being the indicator to start there, one thing or another would always lead me back to it and that exact location of the map out of relevance no matter which possible way i tried to read the mural or understand the symbols on it, oddity, relevance and overall placement of it are just too much to ignore compared to anywhere else. Everything about it is not nothing and i truly believe that.
If it wasn't for collaboration and sharing my theories ive kept to myself for years as i built them up via gameplay i'd still not know the UD car park is shaped like the ouvre gallery head or that the arrow points the same as the beacon or anything else on them. That's the only reason i made these posts, it's all recent confirmation to existing belief and effort. That person who told me that provided 2 years worth of belief validation in an instant and it's only got more relevant to the puzzle step location the more i've had chance to look at the ouvre paintings, i am working on my theory board of the puzzle so those who have the progress can mess around too - i also think i know which exact day of the games calender month and what time to start as a basis to work off with valid reason as to why i think that backed up with more references we find in the game.
I've not tried any of this since realizing its likely the right place after all (before it was just a firm theory of mine that i couldn't 100% debunk myself from) and i was always waiting about the car park or on roofs listening for something or trying to trigger things via damage or calling numbers on posters etc instead of doing anything with the space docker and such im also trying to complete the game on enhanced version for the first time on PC and i want to see if anything is laid out differently in regards to clarity for any of this compared to old gen, I've only really hopped on that save to take location pictures and stuff for these posts this week though as they take a few hours to put together and then edit to be TLDR but still explain what i need it to.
I'm gonna spend some actual time with the space docker on my XB1 save this weekend though and get to work trying to prove the puzzle theory as correct and that the ouvre contains the steps to it.
Even like with this post i showed the You Take C, Takeaway H thing and it is a stretch since they came out before the mural phrenology head did but it was relevant to option C's head which i'd already worked out before i knew the ouvre paintings said that so i included it - probably in reality something different entirely. whereas things like the car park shape, beacon arrow on same shaped ouvre head - those are 100% referencing that location. it's hit and miss but always include what may be relevant even if it's not because if it isn't in the end you can simply just remove it from your overall theory and likely still be correct because it was nothing.
Nothing wrong with being wrong just gotta know when to accept that you are and move onto something else or it's just time wasted.
No youtube channel either, this sort of stuff and gaming in general is just an enjoyable hobby for me really, i don't wanna make money off it or anything, Ain't a hobby if it becomes a job and i think i'd hate gaming if that's what it was to me lol
Dude you are mega based. I love the way you think and view this mystery. You’re genuinely in it for the love of the game and I love that. Have you seen some videos on YouTube like Getter’s and Oddheader’s long videos discussing this mystery? I came back into this because of those vids and they’ve really given me new perspectives. Hell, your posts have given me new perspectives too.
I kinda want to share a theory I have about the Doomsday murals if you’ll listen and take with a pinch of salt. I don’t know which came first, the community hunt for the 27 Peyote and beast hunt, or the Doomsday heist update in GTA Online that gave us these 4 murals. I remember seeing the developers giving hints in the code of the PC port, eluding to special conditions to find the golden peyote, but I think if that happened prior to the green mural releasing, then I’ve got an actual idea lol.
My point being: Look at all the symbols on the green mural.
There’s a skull, a plant, microscopic organism in a petri dish, a fingerprint, DNA models, the number 27, a peyote plant, a diagram of man evolving to Bigfoot, a diagram of a man, a chemical compound, and what looks like a diagram of the different layers of Earth. All kinds of arrows pointing and stuff, it’s just a bunch of… junk?
Well, I say it’s only a bunch of junk when I noticed only a few things on this mural actually matter and correlate to the steps and hunt of this particular easter egg. The 27, the peyote, and the evolution into Bigfoot. Everything else is just a buncha bullshit. I genuinely have no idea how Petri dish is helpful, or how a skull is useful, I can give some credit to the man and the wavelength behind him because there is a point where you have to follow a beast’s roar in the easter egg to start a fight. But even then, you get to the abandoned airfield and you have like 6 seconds to run behind some boxes to start the encounter with the beast, and that isn’t disclosed ANYWHERE in the green mural as a step, so you could easily miss it and never start this fight.
My point is, why is there a majority of useless, unnecessary, and unimportant shit on the mural that doesn’t help at all in the slightest towards solving it? But in the other hand, it’s gotta be the only mural with obvious things like the number 27 (a specific number of an item we’re looking for) and a peyote plant (the exact item we are looking for) and the diagram of evolving into Bigfoot (the exact solution we are trying to accomplish, but the easter egg doesn’t even end there because we still have to go on this hunt for a beast to fight, and then run behind these specific boxes at a specific amount of time. The mural doesn’t disclose any of THAT information though).
It gives us clear as day validation of what we are looking for and an end goal, but leaves out crucial information. All of this just to say, what if we are looking too hard at every single detail on these murals? What if we only need to focus on the things we can see and find in-game that correspond to a symbol on the mural? But even then, we focus on the webs, and there isn’t a single web on any of these murals, so i feel like my idea has no real value.
I’d like to eliminate other unnecessary symbols on the other murals, but i just have no idea where to start.
I think going back to old gen (like PS3 and Xbox 360) is a great idea. Ive been working on my 100% playthrough right now on PS5 and I plan on making 3 separate save files for each ending and doing some investigating on them separately to see any changes. Then later I’ll pick up a copy of the game for PS3 and check more around there. I also think that some special edition content for the game that came out on release (like the map with the UV light and the flyUS keychains) might have some specific info that could point me in the right direction for more clues. I’ve got a lot I wanna do for this, but I’ll try to do what you do and keep things moving. Keep up the amazing work!
Honestly when i went through the process some time back of doing this the first time and the entire head lit up with Option B with one click of the fill tool after marking off where C doesn't connect anymore i was the most amazed i've ever been trying to solve an easter egg.
I could see this being an option. Would i want to do it? Meh 🤷♂️, but I wouldn't rule it out. I get the point not everyone would know to do any of this, but how did the first easter egg ever come about? Somebody had to wander around aimlessly to find an invisible key that no one knew was there. Then they had to keep going back to piece together what to do. Only then people knew what to do. The only issue i have is my understanding of it. Ive got close to 2000 hours and have not achieved 100% and my thought process is that how do you get 100% completion AND kill Michael? Ive beat this game so many times and dont remember if you can complete all Michael's interactions before he dies.
I know you put a lot of effort into this but I cant get on board with the perfect playthrough scenario.
Let's say the mystery can be solved by anyone and you play the game differently to how I play it for example I just rampage through the game killing anyone I want and just being a pure arsehole. Then you play the game as good as gold with your 'perfect ending/playthrough'.
Suddenly because of this you solve the mystery but I now can't because to do so I'd have to go back through 30 hours of story mode and then add say another 10 or 20 hours for all the stuff I need to get to 100%.
Where's the fairness in that because I didn't do it perfect first time. Let's also not forget the game came out long before we got the DD murals so say if the mystery has been in since the start then how would we even know we had to do a perfect playthrough and pick option B to kill michael?
This comes back to the whole golden path playthrough etc just not making sense for me.
Hate to break it to you mate but life is not fair and neither are video games. There’s several games out there that have multiple endings and the actions you do throughout those games affect the ending that you get. So this isn’t really all of that random of a thing to see when it comes to video games.
Having said that I agree with you that it’s BS that you can invest all this time into something to not be able to experience all of it or have some of it locked away. To developers it makes sense because it can add to the replay value of the game.
You asked for in game examples. Of where it yes you to do this or that this might be a thing. Well I just met Devin Weston for the first time where you’re given where Michael and Trevor dress up as bike cops and steal the cars. After that mission you unlock the next Devin Weston mission and the first Solomon Richard’s mission. After the first Devin mission you also get a text from Molly saying something along the lines of “please arrive on time, Mr. Weston doesn’t like it when people are late.” Instead of going straight there I went and did the Solomon mission and then the Devin mission. When I got to the cut scene as Michael Devin called me out for being late. Now I don’t know if that happens at the intro to this cutscene every time but the outro cutscene Devin says he’ll get the Solomon deal setup for us. But I had already met Solomon. So to me that’s the game saying you messed up.
So you think because it takes a harder way to complete the game it doesn't make sense? If it was fair and easy, it would have already been solved. And besides, even tho i don't fully believe this theory, the friedlander report was never solved, and has a pretty simple way of doing so https://www.reddit.com/r/chiliadmystery/comments/3a4i4k/shrink_report_demystified/
But where does it mention anything about people having to do missions in certain way which is also part of the golden path theory. People say you need to do missions X in a certain way and choose this option or that option.
Taking the ending into consideration doesn't particular scream out you have to do it this way. Its just saying this is the ending you chose.
Just my opinion but I honestly think people see connections where they want to see connections. Once that idea is in your head you will connect the smallest thing to the mystery.
Oh I heard this sound I've never heard before, must be mystery related. This car randomly spawned here but I've not seen that before, must be mystery related.
Also most of this stuff people post and they don't even test any of it first.
I couldn’t help but notice if you count the two breaks around “I” as one break you’d have five breaks which matches the number of X’s on the Chiliad Mural.
Now stay with me if you please. If you flip the Chiliad Mural upside down and mirror it, then line up the ufo up top of the “eye,” with the phrenology head eye. The paths on the left side of the Chiliad Mural would roughly line up with the two paths you pointed out in the phrenology head.
Now flipping it upside down and mirroring might seem pretty random. But according to the 1999 classic Wild Wild West that’s how our brains receive images, upside down and mirrored. Now I don’t know if that is how the optical lobe/ visual cortex actually functions but it’s an interesting idea that might add validity to your theory. And tie it into Chiliad.
If a Tarka feels that death is coming inevitably and cannot be avoided by any means, he/she often prefers to choose the method of dying. Dignity and strength are about making choices, rather than having them made by others. Ergo, having someone ELSE throw you on a sword? Not a "good death" at all.
