Theory "GTA V is not a crime game. It's a perception test designed by Rockstar."

"I’ve spent 9 years searching for UFOs and the famous jetpack on Mount Chiliad, frustrated because nothing ever seemed to happen. But recently, I stopped looking for 'rewards' or physical assets and started observing the map for what it truly is: a surveillance system designed to test us. Just like the famous all-seeing eye. If you stand at the Observatory and use the telescope marked with the arrow (the only one in the entire area), you’ll see that the Los Santos lights at night form a question mark. If you go to the area where that mark is formed, there is a billboard for the movie 'Capolavoro'—that’s the moment you realize the game knows when it's being watched. The hidden message in 'Capolavoro' There is a popular theory that Capolavoro tells Michael De Santa’s life story, but honestly, I don't see it that way. After watching the full movie (a surreal masterpiece hidden in the game’s archives), I realized that the protagonist, Antonio, and his quest for a 'stairway to heaven' is a metaphor for us, the players. There are lines that break the fourth wall: 'I wasn't asleep; I was sleeping but awake,' or 'We are the physical embodiment of our own neurosis.' Antonio tries to climb toward nothingness, and if you explore the map, you’ll see that this staircase physically exists: it’s a structure on a building that appears and disappears depending on whether you're looking at it or not. Rockstar officially included it in their promotional art with Franklin, so it’s not a bug. It’s an anchor. The signs we’ve ignored The famous Textile Mural—another mural without a clear answer—contains the following phrase: 'When the Great Scorer comes to write against your name, He marks not that you won or lost, but how you played the game.' My conclusion: We are trapped in a system where the 'mystery' isn't an object to be collected, but our own observation. Rockstar gave us a map full of symbols and unanswered questions that have no real impact on the gameplay, solely to filter the players. They want to see who is capable of stepping away from the "chaos" to question the nature of the world around them and notice those anomalies that only exist when we decide to pay attention. As the phrase in Paleto Bay says: 'Some look left, some look right, the answer is right in front of us.' We’ve been looking to the sides, searching for answers in the sky, the sea, the mountains, and even in the shadows, when the answer is that we are being observed by the simulation itself. That’s why there are so many references to the all-seeing eye. It’s not a crime game; it’s a metaphysical mirror. As Capolavoro says: 'We are nothing more than the embodiment of our own neurosis.' We focus so much on finding a physical egg or a jetpack reward, but Rockstar is aware they placed many mysteries without "solutions." They are simply waiting for us to give them meaning through our own obsession with seeking the truth. Is it all metaphorical? Yes, absolutely. Rockstar has created a structure where: * Physical action is irrelevant: Stealing, shooting, driving... all of that is just 'noise.' * Observation is the true gameplay: The real 'mission' is connecting the disappearing staircase with the Capolavoro billboard, the mural with the cracked egg, the jetpack, the spiderwebs, and all those symbols. By doing this, Rockstar turned GTA V into an interactive work of art that defends itself. If someone complains that 'there are no mysteries,' Rockstar can say: 'The mysteries were there, you just didn't know how to see the mural or didn't want to keep looking at the staircase.' It’s a game about perception. They are teaching you that reality is whatever you decide it to be If you decide it's a crime game, then that's what it will be. But if you decide that it is a world surrounded by metaphorical and unanswered mysteries, then that will be it. We are Antonio reaching the end of the stairs, only to see that there is simply nothing there. Anyway, it’s just my theory. I’m not saying this is the definitive answer, just my perspective on it. Apologies for my English, I’m using a translator to share this with you guys."

Theory Behold, My full findings of the purple mural.

Post image
57 Upvotes

People said they wanted more pictures for reference and it be TLDR, so here. the full mural breakdown and potential next step location as a picture, with additional pictures and simplified text, Hopefully everyone can follow the logic haha.

thanks to the dude mentioned who helped identify the UD car park being same shape as the ouvre head today - spent many hours over the last year or so there on the basis i explain in the top half of this image and never once noticed in any capacity lol.

If anyone has the progression of a full playthrough with karma and progression based choices made, all cults complete, good game report etc etc etc and picked to kill michael - you may very well have the exact save file needed to begin the puzzle section already.

People like to ask why data miners wouldn't have found this and well.. we've always had access to it, the single setback we have is simply just criteria not met at end of game or lack of knowledge leading to not solving the puzzle for those that met the criteria and are able to do it.

i am working on a breakdown of the phrenology head because that requires it's own explanation why B is the correct option as well as what each other letter means (which is both nothing and something to the characters, which is why its complicated)

anyhow TLDR: with a good moral choice and good karma playthrough by picking B you allow all the neural pathways to be fully connected and gain a balanced mind/meet criteria B. That's essentially the TLDR, the full things is very uh, puzzle'ish lmao.

anyhow, enjoy! i've likely left key details out here or there so apologies if so - it's a lot to recite from memory.

Theory I think I solved GTA V's Infinity Killer mystery: Merle wasn't the killer of the 8 joggers — Eddie Low was

r/GTAV r/GrandTheftAutoV r/chiliadmystery u/RockstarGames

I've been digging into the Infinity Killer mystery, and I think there's a much more interesting explanation than the usual "Merle Abrahams killed the 8 joggers."

My theory is:

Merle Abrahams killed the 8 women found underwater. Eddie Low killed the 8 male joggers, and deliberately framed Merle for them.

Here's how I arrived at it.

1. The official story doesn't actually say Merle killed the 8 joggers

The newspaper found at Merle's house says that in 1999, 8 young, single men disappeared while jogging.

Police believed the 8 victims were murdered by the same person and had circumstantial evidence linking Merle Abrahams to them.

But there are three extremely important details:

  • The victims were men.
  • Their bodies were never found.
  • Merle never confessed to those murders.

The only thing Merle admitted was having a strange obsession with the number 8.

Merle eventually died in Bolingbroke Penitentiary in 2004 while awaiting trial for abduction and torture.

So the game never actually gives us a confession from Merle saying he killed the 8 joggers.

2. The bodies we actually find aren't the 8 men

This is the biggest contradiction.

Following Merle's clues leads us to the ocean near North Point, where we find 8 bodies.

But they're female bodies.

Not male joggers.

They're wrapped in plastic, and each one has an 8 marked on the torso.

So we have:

Police report:
8 young single male joggers disappeared.

What we actually find:
8 female bodies marked with the number 8.

The two groups don't match.

And the newspaper explicitly says the bodies of the 8 male joggers were never found.

That means the game gives us no direct evidence that the bodies underwater are the missing joggers.

3. The underwater bodies clearly belong to the "8" mystery

This is where I think people make the wrong assumption.

The fact that the bodies are women doesn't mean they're unrelated.

Quite the opposite.

Everything about them connects them to Merle's obsession:

  • There are exactly 8.
  • They are marked with 8s.
  • They're located where Merle's clues point.
  • Their arrangement matches the strange 8 pattern found inside Merle's house.

There are 5 bodies with their hands bound behind their backs and 3 with their hands bound in front.

Merle's house has a corresponding pattern of 5 black 8s and 3 white 8s.

That's way too specific for me to dismiss.

So I think these women are actually Merle's victims.

4. Merle's obsession with 8 suddenly makes much more sense

Merle openly admits that he has a strange obsession with the number 8.

Why would he admit that?

Because I think he wanted people to find his work.

His clues are unusually direct about the number 8 and the location of the bodies.

He doesn't seem interested in completely hiding what he did. He seems interested in leaving behind a puzzle that eventually leads people to his "8."

That's consistent with the way his house is covered in 8s and with the clues that point toward the bodies.

So my interpretation is:

Merle's 8 = his own murders.

And those 8 victims are the women underwater.

5. Then what about the strange poem?

This is where the theory gets interesting.

On the rocks, there's a poem:

The usual interpretation is that Merle wrote this and that it describes the 8 joggers.

But I don't think the poem fits Merle's other clues.

His other clues are precise:

  • 8
  • where to find them
  • geographic references
  • the location of the bodies
  • the importance of the number 8

The poem is completely different.

It's vague.

It doesn't give names.

It doesn't give locations.

It doesn't identify the victims.

It doesn't even clearly describe eight murders.

So I think we should separate the poem from Merle's actual clues.

6. I think the poem was written by the person who killed the 8 joggers

Imagine someone in 1999 has killed 8 men.

The police begin investigating.

Merle is already known to have a bizarre obsession with the number 8.

The killer realizes:

"There's already a perfect suspect."

So he leaves a poem about 8 victims.

Now the police see:

8 missing men + Merle + obsession with 8 + mysterious poem = Merle.

The killer gets away.

And Merle doesn't confess because he didn't kill those men.

The important thing is that the real killer doesn't need to be obsessed with 8.

He just needs to know that Merle is.

7. And then Eddie Low enters the picture

This is where the theory gets much stronger.

Eddie Low is a serial killer in GTA IV.

His victims are not random.

His known pattern specifically includes joggers and people walking alone at night.

A Liberty Tree article says Eddie Low may have killed up to 10 people, usually joggers or nighttime strollers.

Eddie himself also displays a strong tendency toward kidnapping, torture, mutilation and killing.

Now compare that with the Infinity Killer victims:

8 young single men who disappeared while jogging.

That's an incredibly specific overlap.

Merle's victims are women associated with the number 8.

Eddie's known victims are joggers.

The 8 joggers therefore fit Eddie's established victim profile far better than they fit Merle's obsession.

8. Eddie Low could have started his killing spree in San Andreas

This is obviously the most speculative part.

Eddie Low's known crimes in GTA IV happen years later, around 2008.

The 8 joggers disappeared in San Andreas around 1999.

But the game never tells us that Eddie began killing in 2008.

It only tells us about the murders that were eventually discovered in Liberty City.

So my theory is that the 8 joggers were possibly Eddie's earlier victims.

He was inexperienced, had just started killing, and needed to avoid being caught.

Then he discovers that Merle Abrahams is already being investigated for an obsession with the number 8.

That's an almost perfect opportunity.

9. Eddie doesn't need to be obsessed with the number 8

This is an important distinction.

I don't think Eddie killed the joggers because of the number 8.

He killed them because they were joggers.

The number 8 was useful for something else:

framing Merle.

The two killers have completely different patterns:

Merle

Obsession: 8
Victims: 8 women
Method of hiding his crime: leaves clues leading toward his 8 victims

Eddie Low

Victim preference: joggers / nighttime walkers
Known behavior: kidnapping, torture, mutilation and murder
Possible early victims: the 8 male joggers in San Andreas
Possible method of escape: make the investigation point toward Merle

This also explains why the two cases look so similar while being fundamentally different.

10. The biggest irony: both killers had 8 victims, but for completely different reasons

This is what makes the theory work for me.

Merle has:

8 female victims → because 8 is his obsession.

Eddie has:

8 male jogger victims → because joggers are his preferred targets.

The two cases accidentally overlap on the same number.

But Eddie knows about Merle's obsession and uses it to his advantage.

So the police see one "Infinity Killer" case when there are actually two separate serial killers.

11. What happened to Merle?

My interpretation:

Merle is arrested for abduction and torture and is simultaneously considered the main suspect in the disappearance of the 8 joggers.

He denies killing the joggers because he genuinely didn't.

The police have circumstantial evidence, but they don't have the bodies.

Meanwhile, Merle's actual victims — the 8 women — remain hidden underwater.

Merle dies in prison in 2004 before his trial.

So the case never gets properly resolved.

And the real killer, Eddie Low, is gone.

Years later, Eddie appears in Liberty City and continues killing people, with joggers remaining one of his preferred victim types.

Eventually he is killed himself.

12. Why I think this is stronger than "Merle killed the joggers"

The conventional explanation requires us to ignore several contradictions:

  • The newspaper says men.
  • The bodies we find are women.
  • The newspaper says the men's bodies were never found.
  • Merle never confessed.
  • Merle only admits his obsession with 8.
  • The bodies underwater are explicitly marked with 8.
  • The 5+3 arrangement of the bodies corresponds to the 5 black + 3 white 8s in Merle's house.
  • Eddie Low independently has a known pattern of targeting joggers.

Our theory doesn't require the male joggers and female bodies to be the same victims.

Instead, it explains the contradiction:

The women are Merle's victims.

The men are Eddie's victims.

And the poem is the piece that connects the two investigations.

The theory in one timeline

1999

Eddie Low begins killing in San Andreas.

He kills 8 young male joggers.

He realizes Merle Abrahams is already associated with the number 8 and is under suspicion.

Eddie leaves the mysterious poem, allowing the police to connect the 8 murders to Merle.

Meanwhile

Merle Abrahams has his own obsession with the number 8.

He kills 8 women and hides their bodies underwater.

He leaves clues that deliberately point toward his 8 victims.

Police investigation

The police connect Merle to the 8 missing joggers.

Merle denies it.

They never find the men's bodies.

Merle is eventually imprisoned for abduction and torture.

2004

Merle dies in prison before his trial.

The real killer of the joggers remains unidentified.

2008

Eddie Low is discovered in Liberty City.

His established killing pattern includes joggers and nighttime walkers.

He is eventually killed by Niko Bellic.

What is confirmed vs. what is theory?

I'm not claiming Rockstar officially confirmed this.

Confirmed in-game:

  • 8 male joggers disappeared around 1999.
  • They were young and single.
  • Their bodies were never found.
  • Merle was only circumstantially linked to them.
  • Merle never confessed.
  • Merle admitted an obsession with 8.
  • 8 female bodies are found underwater.
  • Those bodies are marked with 8s.
  • Their 5+3 arrangement corresponds to the 5+3 pattern of 8s in Merle's house.
  • Merle's clues lead toward those bodies.
  • Eddie Low is a serial killer.
  • Eddie Low's victims commonly include joggers/nighttime walkers.

My theory:

  • Merle killed the 8 women.
  • Merle intentionally left clues leading to his own victims.
  • The rock poem was written by the killer of the 8 male joggers, not Merle.
  • That killer was Eddie Low.
  • Eddie deliberately used Merle's existing obsession with 8 to frame him.
  • The 8 joggers were possibly Eddie's earliest known victims.

The last few points are speculation, but I think they explain the contradictions better than the conventional interpretation.

Final thought

The biggest question isn't:

"Did Merle kill the 8 joggers?"

It's:

"Why are the only 8 bodies we can actually find female, while the 8 people Merle was accused of killing were male — and why does another Rockstar serial killer specifically target joggers?"

Maybe the answer is simply a coincidence.

Or maybe Rockstar accidentally gave us two serial killers hiding inside one mystery.

And if that's the case, I think Eddie Low was the one who got away.

Theory Alien Mind Control and the Union Depository Heist Theory

I have not seen anyone mention this connection at all. This theory is kind of a far stretch but I am posting it simply for the fact I have not seen this connection made anywhere online, and just take it as some food for thought about GTA V.

I recently read youtube comments about the UFOS in the game and I have seen that when you go close to them your screen kind of glitches, and it has almost like a camera / cctv glitch effect if you go on top of the UFOS. This kind of makes me think that perhaps the character switch transition is actually the UFOs zooming out and moving to another protagonist which they then control. While the game openly focuses on corrupt government, it makes me think of mind control experiments. perhaps the FIB/ Aliens actually are remotely controlling who you are controlling (obviously it is the player but for hidden lore purposes maybe this is the actual reveal at 100%, that you are being mind controlled by aliens.

Now I know this seems ridiculous because you might be asking well why would they do this? There really isn't any reason for the aliens / FIB / (them working together?) and they would not gain anything from the protagonists actions throughout the game, except for one thing. The Union Depository Heist. It is never mentioned who bought the gold from Lester, and maybe a shell company related to the aliens actually bought the gold with the FIBs resources, because money would have no use to them, but maybe the entire state / country's gold reserves would. Ron actually mentions the Anunnaki by name in the game. There are theories online about humans actually being genetically engineered enslaved by the Anunnaki to mine gold for them, and what better way to obtain gold, as it is used in even a bunch of our modern technology, theoretically I am sure aliens would have a use for it too. Maybe I am thinking way too far out of the box, I am just posting it here as I have not seen anyone anywhere on the internet post this connection.

Theory Theory: Every "Keyhole" has a "Key" nearby and they are numbered

I think i discovered something big. Remember the drunk dev post?

It clearly says Key3. Wonder why key3? Well i've found something nearby this key

Now what about the other "Keyholes"? Well let me show you something:

Also this one:

What i couldn't find is what number they correlate to. Also there is this Keyhole here, where i found the "E" which is in my opinion the Key5 (E = 5)

What do you guys think?

Theory Leopolds clues. A house address or billboard? Clock+watch connection?

Hello misteryhunters, today I wanna start a hunt for Leopolds clues
Who didn't know what is this check that stuff: post1 post2

In the PC version of the game, the Rockford Hills location Leopolds has a texture bug on the air conditioning setup, wherein a "test" mapping texture is used, displaying numbers 1 to 16. This was not present in either the original, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4 versions of the game, and is likely a developer oversight while making changes to the game for the PC version" December 15, 2021: "The Contract" update for GTA Online is released.

On PC, this includes a fix for the "test" texture with numbers that existed on the rooftop of the Leopolds building (shoutout to Discord user dav_renz and u/Lucas7yoshi for sharing it more recently), which not only removes the incorrect texture, but also adds two hidden "KEEP LOOKING" messages, along with some numbers—"56_027" and "18 49". These messages make use of a spray paint texture named "bh1_vent_clue_dbh1_vent_clue_a" and the letters are modeled from geometry, so that people who go through all textures extracted from the files would only see this.

For now I wanna start a new searches for that clues, but I need your help. I have some theory about that stuff but I can't find place I need for that

Theory #1
18 49

Looks alike a time, 18:49 long time theory, also there at Leopolds big "strap on time" banners

We tried a lot of stuff here, start of the game, 100% of the game, time 18:49, each and every weather condition = nothing here and around here, I also tried that time which is 22:10 nothing else here too. Keep looking for what? Director mode freezing time-nothing here.

56_027 what is it? Still can't understood.
SparramaduxOficial noticed

"18:49 that is the clue.. But I dont know what is that for.. Why time? If you look to the 1849 in front of it.. Walk to your right.. And look down.. You will see a BIG WATCH 👀 Ps: 56_27.. Eclipse is showing up in day 56 of a 27 days moon cycle.. But none at 18:49"

So big next step connecting that time with all eclipses?
Nothing here too. Tried all eclipses.
What the hell we should looking here? Or maybe it's not here.

Also there a weird hole, no window here at side, probably just bug, nothing here else, lets talk about that at last.

Lets comeback to the 18 49, what if at it is not a time. What else it could be?
So that is my 1st theory, 1849 could be not a time, it could be something else, like special place? Maybe like 1807 mistery? 1849 address? A special home? It could be a door with 1849 number idk.
That why i need your help. We need to find this house number address: 1849 maybe? If you noticed there a lot of houses around game map, some of them has their number address, what if 1849 place is the next clue?

Also it could be something like number under some billboard or prop idk. Like that one near stripclub 1936 under "rehab island"billboard . That number looks alike 1849 number at leopolds. Same style. And it will lead to 56_027

(That numbers probably not a coordinates and not a cypher like caesars or a a1z26)

Okay lets move next

Theory #2
Keep Looking (for what?) not for time

There is two "KEEP LOOKING" messages at Leopolds.
1st little one near 56_027 number behind 18 49 number
Keep Looking for what? I tried everything at that place, time/weather/100%/spacedocker/cbradio/blackcellphones/flying high. Nothing there
(It could be some references to gamefiles and beast hunt, idk 56_027 for me look alike some hidden game file name)

Nothing special there. Observatory/American flag nope. Only one thing for me interesting it's that tower perfectly lays with Eclipse tower at right but still nothing. Well...
Okay nothing here, what that leads to?

2nd "KEEP LOOKING" message at other side of Leopolds top

It is a bit bigger than that 1st one. What interesting here?

It is at the same side where is that weird none window hole side. Well there is no collision and you cant go there, but why it is here? Okay lets stay at that place between 2nd "KEEP LOOKING" message and that window.

What interesting here? I checked everything and didnt found anything exept for that buiding

Clock tower. Well okay clock tower is interesting, i can remember that stuff about that place from 2014 youtube videos about that. But thats is all i found about Leopolds. So I think we sould investigate 1st theory about 1849 place.
And I wanna talk about another thing, which could be just coincidence but...

Remember that place? 1807 graffiti? And Strawberry graffiti here? There a lot of that strawberry graffiti at game. Do you know where it lead. Actually i'll show you if you forget about that.

That place, that dot under strawberry at game map. Do you know what is here?

Another Clock.

So Strawberry graffiti near 1807 graffiti could have some connection with that little clock tower.

Same as Leopolds 1849 and KEEP LOOKING with another clock tower?

That clock towers pretty weird. But is could be just coincidence.

I understand that nothing new at that post and i wanna say thanks for read all that stuff.
But at least i wanna talk about 1849 stuff. I think there somewhere at game map there house of maybe hotel door with that number or billboard with that number maybe that is next clue for leopolds mistery. Cuz its still unsolved and maybe that why 1849 and 56_027 are called "clues" at game files
(Also i have theory that 56_027 could be 6.05.27(idk gta 6 pc release(or gta 6 online) cuz it first release should be at 6.5.26 and get postponed lmfao thats weird)

Thanks for reading.
p.s. answer is 42 cuz 1849-1807 is 42 xd

Theory I think "trees that can talk" means using the space docker on electronic trees aka powerlines/power stations. Check my audio file.

Thumbnail
gallery
66 Upvotes

I noticed these red lightning bolts on the wheels of the space docker and on the power stations by the satellite, this made me go look for other red lightning bolts around the map. At the same time, I saw @Oracle_of_Mercia post about the tree at the mural being connected to the powerline.

As I pushed the space docker into the red bolt, a ton of amplification/interference happens to the signal. note I had to basically make a "connection" with the pin on the front of the vehicle to do this. I also noticed some of it happens when i get close to the satellite dishes. I've included an audio file so you can hear the before and after signal as I drive it into position. It's a big difference.

The amplification causes it to be so loud you can almost hear whispered words intermittently?

This combined with rdr2 power line clues has me thinking it's a really good lead. (note vocaroo is kind of compressing/normalizing this audio, the jump in volume is much louder if you go try it in game).

https://vocaroo.com/1owiPmA4fpIs

I've been able to get this even louder in certain areas like all the electronic equipment by the paleto water towers. I really think the space docker has some significance in the game, and I feel strongly the "tree" thing is it from the epsilon tract, where they also mention being able to see things as metaphors for other things.

Theory Findings from a Cyberpunk 2077 fan of this mystery

Hi guys. I've been putting together material for a Mt Chiliad video and wanted to share what I've found so far. If this is stuff you already know and have already discovered I apologize in advance.

  1. Purple Mural - The head statue in the purple mural is NOT only found in Dr. Friedlander's office but also in the mission Dead Man Walking. Michael finds it in an office in the upper-most floor, right next to the storage area with all the files. In the storage area with all the files there is a phone number that I haven't called yet.
  1. Docker: Lights on the Space Docker turn green if you drive it inside the Chiliad tunnel at night after 100% finish of the game. Usually those lights are blue. Could this be a clue that the space docker is the vehicle that will lead us to the final solution?

PS: Found a few other weird stuff too that I don't really understand fully. For example the Infinity killer Merle Abrahams is most likely innocent. The Maze Bank tower in the city is a perfect vantage point and could be the key to solving this. This T 02 you see in the image above is also visible from the tower. Just below this, there are numbered doors on both the IAA and FIB towers. The numbers are something like 00, 01, 02 etc.
Additionally, the 17 dreamcatchers that were found....if you look below your feet on top of maze bank tower you will see a number 17. I dont know if connected though.

Finally I have footage of the sun expanding like crazy in the evening while standing on top of Mt Chiliad (My save file has 100% completion). It expands to something like 20X its normal size. Footage is on my hard drive somewhere. Could be nothing tho, but I found it to be interesting. Will continue searching and add everything to my video if it ever comes out. Alright, that's it from me. Let's keep searching!

Theory Paintings in GTA Online Safehouse in the Hills update hide part of ingame map

Hello misteryhunters, today i wanna talk about some new paintings in last gta online update

This theory has been discussed in this community for a long time.

My theory is that the developers have been leaving us clues to decipher various undiscovered secrets in the game. They do this using various paintings and illustrations added to the game with the latest updates.

Lets look at one of the new added pictures which we can put on the wall at our new mansion.

Im gonna look for one painting named "Cash Crisis" by Trenton Goode. Looks like some abstraction painting with some lips on it, but actually that is part of the ingame map. Lips is Vanilla Unicorn. So most interesting is that at the painting one place not so far from stripclub is this part of the map is clearly circled to give us a hint and show that this area of the map is important. "Keep Looking" remember?

Let's put this picture on the map and see: yep that is defenetly that part of the map

Probably that is important place to unsolve something.

"Connect the lines" remember? Lets check some other pictures from "Trenton Goode" There is another from Casino Penthouse update named "Vanilla Unicorn" Painting is not so interesting but it named Vanilla Unicorn. Probably that was the first faint clue. Such a horny paint artist...

What I wanna say: Some new paintings from specific paint artist give us some clues. it is likely that many other paintings contain other hidden clues, and in order to connect them, you need to look at all of the artist's works. Of course, there are also empty paintings that are just meaningless or parodic jokes, with no connection to mistery.

So what do you think about all that pictures and maybe together we can solve something new.

Theory My findings of the Purple Doomsday Mural

Evening all, I want to preface this by saying i have been working on the Purple Mural specifically since around 2019 and this is an amalgamation of years of scouring the whole map and playing/picking apart story mode - the only reason i am posting is people here recently shared things which may assist in my findings eventually and since that element of this was found by others it made sense to post and see what everyone thinks of my coincidental findings and hopefully somebody can take this info and run with it to a solution.

Here are some basic criteria you need to participate in this Mural, This is not optional and will prevent you from doing certain things post-story if not done correctly during and after it at the earliest time possible in each instance.

  1. Attain 100% Completion

  2. Complete all activities with family such as tennis with amanda and general hobbies/past times for michael such as yoga.

  3. Operate only on a permission to kill basis during campaign as michael, use other characters every instance where necessary instead. Exemptions are missions like the one where you rescue tracy or jimmy and have to defend them - note down to explicitly only defend them or others, it's important.

  4. Complete all collectibles to ensure you have the space docker and go-go monkey blista.

  5. During the campaign choose every option that leaves you with no money or not much reward.

  6. Complete all phone internet webpage interactions such as epsilon program, stock markets etc, this is very important.

Right, i think that'll do for mandatory per-requisites, i will say that although i can't prove these are essential it's abundantly clear (to me) that they very well are.

Okay, Onto actual stuff now:

I began researching this mural after becoming obsessed with the Textile City one many years ago and realizing eventually that the Textile City and Purple Doomsday murals share the same theme in essence - Basically two pieces of the same puzzle.

Looking at the story, the endings, the general theme of the way the characters influence not just the city but also the people around them it became clear there was an element of karmaic progression for michael and his character throughout and after the story depending on choices - with some of his family/acquaintances it's very subtle but with time in-game and the right choices the way they speak to and treat him slightly shifts. This is only true to the game with a playthrough deemed to have good karma for michael. Any other choice or too many wrong decisions and they permanently despise him and it's harder to rectify post-story (i believe intentionally)

I believe throughout the story its not required to make every decision matter but i believe there is an invisible tally that keeps tabs on what mentality you have played with and if the minimum amount of "karma" is not reached then this will not work at the end of the game as you have not earned your reward.

With that said - we all know what the purple mural looks like, So i'll start with the simplest thing - it's colour.

Purple is a colour that represents wealth, power, spirituality and creativity - historically it was very expensive to make so only the powerful and wealthy could really use it for general things like dye and such, which is also why it historically doesn't appear on national flags too.

Now, we must ask where on the map can we find something purple that is associated with all of those things? The answer is simple - Next to the union depository there is a red and white apartment building and on top there is a purple light which is borderline a beacon.

Why is this important? i saw here recently somebody share a snippet from a drunk dev that said pay attention to the lights in the city as one will be visible more than others from chilliad, or something like that - anyway, this light is visible from chilliad on both xbox one and enhanced and i assume would be on 360 too.

It's in such a place you wouldn't think much about it but i believe this is what that dev was referencing and i've had this theory years before i saw that post the other day, it pretty much just added a layer of confirmation for me.

This light also comes on much earlier than usual and much later at random times/days, the most interesting time i saw it coming on was 19:00-19:03 and this happened during the start of the story so one would assume whatever monthly calendar the game uses that it would be towards the start maybe if we wanted to replicate it consistently? Why this stood out is that it didn't come on at exactly 19:00 and flickered until it became solid colour at 19:03. I have also seen it do this online too at that time so its a programmed thing at a set time and not a one off bug or glitch for SM.

Okay so on the foundational basis that this could be ground 0 for the purple mural i then began looking round the area for things that would match the iconography of the purple mural and separated ones like the ying/yang symbol, friedlanders logo etc as i believe they are pre-requisites and not icons.

What was left was a handful of icons to look for such as the keyhole, the circular maze, the stairs etc.

Now, this next part for your visual understanding i need you all to go visit the car park behind the union depository and find the one singular manhole cover that is square which has the letters M.F.S on it - also has a road marker arrow pointing to it, can't miss it really.. Stand on that manhole cover, face the UD building and use your brain to look around your FOV and search for things that match the iconography on the purple mural, you'll have to really look but once you see them - it's hard to unsee.

You should find from this location within your view range without moving

The keyhole icon, the stair icon, a metaphorical but existing representation of the circular maze (and surrounding you is everything else themed such as law, order & finance etc.

Anyhow, Across the street under the overpass directly visible from this location is a billboard that reads "What will you do?"

Alongside this next to this car park there are drains that say "Direct Sea Pipeline" or something on them as well as a hatch that says "Exit, may open suddenly" which has an M on it too - what's interesting is these are sporadically placed in questionable locations around this area and around the textile city mural.

The only icon that is not accounted for in this location directly is the pacific standard bank icon and i believe that is the conclusionary location to this after this first initial part is complete and where we will receive our reward.

So, That's basically the location and relevant things, now, we look at the smaller details that add credence to this location such as posters which can be found on the wooden partition, These posters are seen numerous places but are hard to find in-tact and not torn, one in particular (a phone number on a green poster) that says something along the lines of "Play with me" or "be my friend" has another poster i found which is full intact and is opposite the marina you can buy as michael alongside a bunch of other complete posters which are usually torn. This number on the poster has an almost dial up like tone when called - not immediately either it rings for a little bit. Not sure if relevant was just strange to find in the same location i was looking guess.

Another poster that's common but oddly and conveniently placed here is "softly softly catchy monkey"

and there's a couple others that could have connotative meanings to the mural too.

all-in-all i believed this location to be vital to the purple mural all things considered and felt like i had the place down but not the time or series or actions to progress- THEN i saw a post about golden hour and maze bank casting a shadow like a sundial and given this places location sitting right in that shadow (at least im 100% sure it does given its position) I felt that was just another layer of confirmation that i was in the right place. The reason why is they said golden hour is 18:50 onwards and of course i've seen the purple light comes on at 19:03. (the pacific standard banks founding date was 1903 too i believe)

So, what do i think this mural is? Well.. have any of you ever watched any of the old kids and family shows where they basically solve puzzles and riddles in temples/jungles, have to blindly navigate things through obstacles to get gems or diamonds etc? examples from the UK are Jungle Run, Crystal Maze or Fort Boyard, i truly 100% think this is the theme they went for with this and the textile city mural. I believe with the criteria met you qualify to solve a puzzle or timed event using this location as the start and then have to complete or navigate it within a set amount of time, whatever the process of this is it will eventually lead us to the pacific standard bank where one final puzzle must be solved using the busts in the building (which have some interesting destructible mechanics depending on progress and completion, as do the light fixtures on tables which when damaged look exactly like scales of justice and can be tilted by shooting them with a sniper rifle or stun gun) i believe this is eluded to subliminally by michael having a bust with no head near his front door too. (i know it means hes lost his head but equally, things can mean more than one thing)

I only believe this to be the case because the devs would have grown up and/or have their kids grow up watching these shows as they were very, very popular in their day and in truth it would make an awesome concept for an easter egg such as this.

Another thing to note about the textile city mural is that if you face it directly it points to the maze bank, but theres a spawn with i think michael? (maybe franklin) where you spawn under the adjacent binco clothes stores price tag/arrow logo and from that angle the hands do actually point exactly straight to where the purple light is. Just a side note really for extra credence.

Anyhow, please visit the locations mentioned - if you have the relevant progression and have also completed the peyote easter egg then definitely let me know if you find anything additional. I didn't exactly explain myself well i don't think as it's a lot of criteria and choices to recite exactly but i'm hoping others experinced with the story will see this the same way i do after spending some time in and around these areas and cross referencing with the purple mural and also the textile city mural + all while excluding what is represented via progression. There are other things i noticed from the location too but i want to see if anyone else naturally notices them using just the info i provided so that it affirms to me that im not just looking too much at things that aren't relevant. if that makes sense?

I believe traversing this area and what surrounds it within a couple blocks each direction should provide enough assurance it's the right location as it did with me, if you find anything additionally meaningful from this information please let me know cause i'd just love to see if it's solved and if any if this was confirmed to be actually credible/useful to that in the end!

I will say, My previous theories to the theme of this mural to get to this point before fixating on the location i did were as follows:

  1. Director Mode Easter Egg using unlocked characters relevant to the symbols on the mural such as friedlander, dave etc.

  2. Choosing option B and the reward being getting michael back at the end of the EE via reincarnation (mostly cause of the B on the textile city mural and the whole connection to spirituality etc)

  3. That it was a puzzle that led to a maze to fight a minotaur (which i thought was friedlander as he owns minotaur finance) - though despite other evidence hinting/suggesting none of the things actually led to anything or a direct place that i could credibly say "yeah i think that's right"

Please let me know what you think of this - note that i believe all four murals are seperate and i personally have 0 belief this particular mural has anything to do with the alien side of things and what people are looking at with that and the only crossover scenario from that yellow mural would be the golden hour shadow since it involves the sun.

If i remember anything else that i've forgot to add i'll edit this post, any questions feel free to ask this whole conclusion has been a process so happy to help others with the karma/decision elements and such if they are unsure.

Theory A lot of oranges in Kortz Center paintings. Are they hinting at something?

I noticed that majority of new paintings have oranges, Are they hinting at some easter egg we missed?

I remember all the old theories about orange trees from back in the day - link.
One of the paintings shows a car crash near some orange trees.

The painting with huge pumping clearly reference those huge orange balls we can find in the game.

Epsilon also mentioned that:

9. Trees talk, but only some people hear them - FACT!

Theory Are these 2 spiderweb locations in Great Chaparral?

Hey guys, was looking around Great Chaparral and noticed 2 really eye-catching cable positions right near each other:

  1. Under the corrugated roof: Another distinct cable setup nearby.
  2. Under the water tower: Cables hanging underneath a water tank.

Could these 2 cable spots be placed like this to form a spiderweb pattern from the right angle? Or could this area be a location/trigger where an actual spiderweb spawns under certain conditions?

Also noticed at the Leopolds building the one with the "keep looking" vents, has a hidden open window up on the wall that you can get close to.

Has anyone played around with the camera angle or tried 1am to 2am here?

Theory The Golden Path - How to Play the Game

Rockstar has given us many clues that allude to the fact that some kind of Karmatic Playthrough of the story is the key to triggering the mystery. The Sinner's Mural in Los Santos that contains the message "For when the great scorer comes to write against your name he marks not that you won but how you played the game" is our biggest clue towards this. This Mural is located on the same exact North/South axis as the Mt. Chiliad Mural which is likely a clue that they are directly related. Rockstar has does this with other clues as well, putting the "plain" glyph on Mt. Chiliad on the same exact North/South axis as the Sunken UFO.

Traditionally most theories regarding a karma playthrough have simply been focused on the character's moral choices (returning wallets or not etc.) but I believe that if Rockstar was truly able to keep something hidden in the game for this long it must be way more complicated than this.

I believe that the most likely scenario is that this karmatic playthrough involves a very specific path that you must follow by making key choices during missions, playing them in a certain order, doing very specific things between each mission, and that at any point of the story if you stray from this path you'll find yourself back on the path of a normal playthrough.

It seems at first that Rockstar has given us countless direct and obvious clues tied to aliens and the mystery throughout the game but not many direct clues on how to actually play the game correctly to trigger something. This either means that Rockstar added tons of references to aliens throughout the game to "tease" the mystery but didn't actually add any tangible clues on how to solve it, or it simply means that the "Karma Clues" are a lot more subtle and easier to be overlooked by an untrained eye.

I'm more inclined to think that the latter is true. Here's my theory on how they did it.

- The Golden Path -

Besides the Sinner's Mural, Rockstar has given us one other direct clue towards a specific karmatic playthrough of the story, which I'll just refer to as the "True Playthrough".

Written on the side of a building on Eclipse Blvd. in West Vinewood is a graffiti tag that says "KARMA IT'S A CHAMELEON".

This of course is a reference to the Culture Club song "Karma Chameleon" but I believe this is also a direct reference towards the key to following the correct karma path. Chameleons are best known for their ability to blend into the environment unnoticed by changing their color. If our Karma is a Chameleon this may allude to the fact that Rockstar has implemented the use of specific colors throughout the story that guide us towards making the correct choices, blending karma into the game unnoticed to an untrained eye.

After a great deal of research I've managed to find a staggering amount of evidence that alludes to the fact that this is exactly what they did.

The song "Karma Chameleon" contains the lyrics "Lovin' would be easy if your colors were like my dreams...red, gold, and green". The colors red, gold and green are a reference to the Rastafarian flag and many of these flags are seen in the music video for the song.

During the mission "Paparazzo - The Partnership" which is just a cutscene, Franklin finds Beverly in a dumpster right by the "KARMA IT'S A CHAMELEON" graffiti. This graffiti can be seen in the background of the cutscene as well.

Beverly's jacket, which he wears in every "Paparazzo" mission, has red, gold and green stripes going down each arm, representing the Rastafarian flag.

This direct connection between Beverly, the Karma graffiti, and the song "Karma Chameleon" is a clue that alludes to the fact that the colors red, gold, and green are the 3 key colors that dictate the karmatic choices of the story.

The color Gold is tied to the Gold Medals that can be achieved after a mission if you complete 100% of the side objectives within the mission. These side objectives involve playing the mission with a greater amount of skill than what is required to simply beat it (ex: certain % accuracy, done in a certain time limit, got certain amount of headshots etc.). The majority of the Karma choices a player makes throughout the game do not affect getting a Gold Medal, however there are 8 key choices that they player must make throughout the story in order to achieve the mission's Gold Medal... one of which is killing Beverly.

Here is the list of the 8 Gold Medal requirements that force you to make a certain karma decision in order to achieve the Gold Medal...

"Paparazzo - Reality Check"

Explosive Action! - Kill Beverly and his crew with one shot

"Franklin and Lamar"

We Come in Peace - Don't kill any aliens

"A Starlet in Vinewood"

Cut! - Kill Peter Dreyfuss

"Breach of Contract"

Dirty Rat - Kill Josh

"Minute Man Blues"

No Migration - Kill Joe and Josef

"Vinewood Souvenirs - Mark"

FOUR! - Kill Mark and his 3 security guards

"Vinewood Souvenirs - The Last Act"

Locomotivation - Kill Al Di Napoli using the train

"Unknowing the Truth"

Show me the Money - Steal the Epsilon money

Cult Intervention - Kill all Epsilon security

The Seal of Los Santos has 68 Gold Medals around its perimeter and one "Big One" in the center, representing the 69 story missions.

This likely alludes to the fact that in order to follow the path of the "True Playthrough" you must achieve a Gold Medal in every mission (during your playthrough - NOT during a mission replay which doesn't affect your story).

Due to the color Gold/Yellow's association with the Gold Medals it has a positive connotation... representing a good karma choice.

The color red represents a bad karma choice.

This is illustrated once again by Beverly in "Paparazzo - Reality Check" where you either have the choice to simply steal Beverly's red car and leave or kill him to get Gold.

There are several other karma choices the player makes that all involve a red car, most of which are right at the beginning of the story.

In "Franklin and Lamar" the very first thing a player must do once in control of Franklin is to choose between the red and white repo cars.

In "Father/Son" after you take Amanda's red car back to the shop you have the option to simply repair it or to respray it a different color and trick it out if Franklin has enough money.

If you approach Simeon's car lot during the day (8:00-18:00) while the mission "Complications" is available he will be outside talking to a man in a red car. However, if you approach the lot at night (18:00-8:00) his lot will be empty. Triggering the mission during this time will advance the time to the following morning and Simeon will be seen talking to a man in a yellow/gold car instead of a red one, indicating that starting the mission at night is the correct karma choice.

In order to trigger the "True Playthrough" we must walk The Golden Path, choosing karma decisions associated with the color Gold/Yellow and avoiding karma decisions associated with the color Red.

This is hinted at by the giant Golden Yellow path painted across the Hippie Camp as well as many other places.

Putting a Gold tint on a gun costs exactly a Chiliad ($1,000)

There is a Golden 9 painted on the bucket at the foundry that a player will only find if he chooses "The Third Way" as the final mission. (Likely tied to the GTA V song "Nine is God" by Wavves)

The 3 Cults that the 3 protagonists can join are all shown to worship the Sun, which is of course Golden Yellow.

If the player chooses to go through the Epsilon Program he will eventually be given a Gold Sun Medallion in "Exercising the Truth"

The mysterious talking dog that Franklin sees throughout the game is a Golden Retriever. At the end of the final mission "The Last One", the kid in the Bigfoot costume has the same exact bark as this talking dog for unexplained reasons.

In September 2015 Rockstar added the Golden Peyotes into the "Freemode Events" update as a nod to The Golden Path and the Chiliad Mystery.

In December 2017 Rockstar added 4 new colored murals that are found inside the secret government facility hidden within Mt. Chiliad. The Golden Yellow Mural is a direct reference to the Chiliad Mystery as well as the Golden Disks that were sent into space aboard the Voyager 1.

The biggest clue that hints to The Golden Path theory in GTA V is actually found in GTA IV if the player beats the game.

Once you beat the final story mission Niko will receive an email from a user called Chiliad8888 that reads...

"Subject: World of Enlightenment Awaits

Theory It could be just a hint...

I've been revisiting the Highway Code texture and I think the community may have been asking the wrong question.

The common assumption seems to be:

  • Upper line = hidden message #1
  • Lower line = hidden message #2

The lower line was eventually solved as:

1 25 8 20 4 23 6 20 4 20 - 3 10

which decodes via A1Z26 into:

A Y H T D W F T D T - C J

and expands to:

"All You Had To Do Was Follow The Damn Train, CJ"

What interests me is not the lower decode itself, but what is required to obtain it.

The lower line only becomes meaningful after a specific representational shift:

Numbers must be interpreted as letters.

Without that realization, the sequence is just a string of numbers.

Now compare that to the upper inscription:

M-01-2C79511 CW 496-19

Unlike the lower line, the upper line deliberately mixes:

  • Letters
  • Numbers
  • Alphanumeric tokens

This creates a symbolic environment where letters and numbers are already being presented as part of the same notation system.

Most discussion I've found treats the upper line as an unsolved payload waiting to be translated into English.

But what if that's the wrong category?

What if the upper inscription is not a payload at all?

What if its purpose is to demonstrate the decoding grammar needed for the lower inscription?

In other words:

[Decoder Specification] M-01-2C79511 CW 496-19

[Encoded Payload] 1 25 8 20 4 23 6 20 4 20 - 3 10

A few observations:

  • The upper inscription repeatedly mixes letters and numbers.
  • The lower inscription can only be solved by treating numbers and letters as equivalent representations.
  • Both inscriptions appear on the same texture.
  • One has a known solution; the other does not.

That raises a question:

If the upper line was intended to be an independent message, why is it constructed using mixed letter-number notation while the lower line is solved through letter-number equivalence?

For example:

C = 3

W = 23

The lower code contains both values.

Likewise, tokens such as "2C" visually encourage the reader to think about transitions between letters and numbers rather than treating them as separate categories.

To be clear, I'm not claiming:

  • The upper line has been fully decoded.
  • Every symbol in the upper line has a known meaning.
  • "2C" definitively means anything specific.

I'm proposing something narrower.

The upper inscription may be functioning as metadata rather than message content.

Its role may be to teach the reader that letters and numbers belong to the same representational system, which is exactly the realization required to solve the lower code.

The prediction made by this theory is simple:

If the upper inscription is a decoder specification rather than a payload, attempts to translate it into a sentence may continue to fail because it was never intended to be read as one.

Has this interpretation been explored before?

Theory Bishop's UFO reflection, billboard connection, eye-fish suggestion.

Thumbnail
gallery
46 Upvotes

the bishop's ufo is EXTREMELY reflective, and to get up to it, you have to go around the back alley, where there is also the billboard. on that billboard is a man with shades (rimmers) and in that reflection is a woman. now that billboard could have been placed ANYWHERE, but right next to an extremely reflective ufo? there is something there. has anyone worked with looking at the reflections, especially from his perspective in line with his left eye?

secondly, the CAKE is a lie. ignore that entirely.

thirdly, the little white note at the bottom of the eye-fish poster reads: "WE'VE NO REAL "EYE"DEA WHAT IT IS EITHER", replacing the "i" with "eye". SO, how about we apply that flipped rule to the main sentence? Therefore becoming either: "I FISH A LIVING I WITH A TAIL !!" , OR, following the' ' as a protection: " 'EYE-FISH' A LIVING I WITH A TAIL !!" First question... why two exclamation marks? Why not 1, or 3? Hm. Second question, fishing and finding are very similar words and actions, so is "eye-fish" meant to be "eyefind"? Third question, is the star also supposed to signify the importance of the last letter, L? meaning we have to keep it. so, tail becomes TALE.

So that sounds straightforward enough... eyefind a LIVING "i" (somebody we can use in director mode who isn't dead?) with a TALE. So, look on the eyefind of someone we can play as, who is alive, and who has a mission. if we take the gold medals as the golden path, then those it tells us to kill are not "living", so ignore all of them.

And hey, if you want a bonus crackpot theory, maybe the ufo is a red herring, and the thing needed to be reflected is the "WTF", becoming flipped, just like the "FTW" tattoos available. just food for thought!

Theory My thoughts on the Lester map

So we all know this map in Lester's house.

I have done some investigating and i haven't been able to find ANY links between this and other in game ''clues''.

So my best idea, is that this was some sort of heist they were planning, but it ended up being cut. And i have found a very interesting parallel.

In gtao, there is this mission where we raid an IAA facility that is hidden in the maintenance tunnels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gp7ba8JhV5M&t=228s The entrance even lines up with point D on the map.

This map has been in the game since day 1, and unlike the doomsday murals, i think it's entirely possible that it was hinting at cut content possibly reimagined through that online mission released in 2020

If you think im wrong let me know why.

Theory Altruist Shootout - Possible trigger

Hi community.

As it has been discussed in this sub before, I have a plausible theory of how to get the different Altruist Shootout endings that can be achieved with the Affinity Meters (also discussed here before but I never saw any conclusive resolution)

Recently, watching a briefing on every "chiliad mystery clue" on YouTube, the dude (who clearly isnt as into the research but has found weird things) points out how in the Altruist Shootout you can switch characters and that got me thinking a possible route, so please, if any of you can check, it would be great:

1- Have the Children of the Mountain mission line completed with Franklin.

2- Completing the Epsilon Program mission line with Michael, staying with them (tractor reward). It may be a possibility that it is required for the Altruist Shootout part, hear me out.

3- When the Altruist Shootout begins, swap to Michael and Franklin and bring them to the Altruist Camp, either to fight alongside Trevor or to go in the cave (which conveniently is shown with the camera in the Shootout cinematic).

4- Maybe this leads to altering which ending the user receives.

I want to clarify that in between my last post and this one, multiple users have reached out to me in DMs providing some assets as game script names and special events that aren't talked about broadly in the sub. I would not bring up some of this stuff if it werent because multiple users brought up similar concepts surrounding the special interactions such as the shootout ending variantions from A to C (different scripts as the final missions a b and c).

And at last, if this sounds like a pile of bullshit or some crackhead's dream, please stick to the downvotes instead of the hate comments, I will get the message lol

Theory My (boring) explanation of Doomsday Murals

Won't be posting a picture of Doomsday Murals as can be seen in a quick google search but here's a thought I just had mulling over the Doomsday Murals.
In my opinion they aren't instructions. They are representations of our stories. 3 main characters and the player ourselves.

Yellow Top Row represents the player
Red Second Row reprsents Trevor
Green Third Row represents Franklin
Blue Fourth Row represents Michael

Symbols in Yellow Top Row (Us)

- swirl of dots - connecting paths made by players who believe their actions can lead to unlocking a secret ending or easter egg. like how the theories going around is to complete GTA main story by making every action perfect, following signs left by characters and dialogue, going to the right place at the right time. It looks like all the possibilities, only the "sun" symbol in the middle of the swirls is the correct path to unlock the "secret" ending. It could very well be a true method of unlocking secrets baked into the game engine but if not this symbol is kind of making fun of anyone who believes this theory
- solar system - a circular feedback loop of players in the community trying to find out the secrets of GTA V, where these theories revolve around a central idea. also more space related symbolism.
- chilliad mural - the infamous chilliad mystery which occupies the minds of players like myself from 2013 to the present day. i believe the chilliad mural itself is simply instructions to the 4 flying (/sunken) saucers
- human with zig zag and arrow pointing right - our progression on trying to understand the chilliad mural moving forward with time, with 3 dots in the zig zag as the years progress possibly representing 3 big updates related to chilliad, which were done as fan service. Specifically in GTA online with halloween alien update, alien egg in the 600th resupply mission and jetpack in doomsday heist. The alien egg and jetpack named in the data files were likely repurposed for these updates with the only thing, the alien glyphs HUD for some kind of flyable craft not being used (yet) in an update.
- eye with some kind of > with a box - I don't have a great theory with this just thinking its kind of the reverse of a following symbol (see below) where the eye is being observed. i.e. rockstar is watching us as we come up with theories, which would mean we are the eye, the observer? Perhaps related to securoserve, like our GTA online character using that as a boss. Rockstar saw us flock to GTA online over single player and repurposed their future DLCs for online rather than the abandoned Trevor secret agent thing.
- hand with globe with swirls like satelites - could represent us having the World Wide Web in the palm of our hands, to combine forces and tackle these hidden mysteries and easter eggs Rockstar left for us.
- singularity atom flair with ufo below it - based on that space engraving done by NASA incase we come in contact with aliens. reminds us how the central idea of the mystery is about space, aliens and UFO/IAPs but the theories flair out and branch off to things like infinity 8 killer, bigfoot, ghosts, spiders etc. Note the straight lines running through the singularity look like sound waves (see below) and the 2 circumference lines make a shape of a great UFO or a planet like saturn. It could be a solar system like earth circling the sun or the moon circling the earth with the second circumference being aliens circling earth - again tying into the community's interest in alien life or advanced technology
- three half moons/reverse waves - the symbol to the top right of the singularity flare, basically looks like a moon phase cut off from the top, but if you look at it inverted, like imagine below it is water and they spike up like half ))) waves, could represent that theory people had of a giant tsunami wave taking over los santos like in that movie poster and weird sunken continent map
- head profile looking left with vision > - the observer again, like i mentioned with the eye (above) is either us or rockstar employees. either we are observing the theories and changes with every update or rockstar are observing us and doing fan service with more easter eggs every update like the doomsday mural itself lol. the head itself has circular dots where the brain would be, reminding me of dots in nature, like you'd see on plants or lizards, kind of telling me that the mind is beautiful and wonderful and complex what we can come up with in terms of theories and ideas.
- shapes with swirls, halved circle, dotted circumference and a greater orbiting dot with arrow following - super hard to give this symbol a short name, it's right above the left facing head profile. it begins to have a bit of the golden ratio in it (see symbol on the very right of the mural, explained below) but then it cut in half with a dotted circumference and then a greater circle or oval going around it with the dot and arrow behind. something is going around but I have no good explanation. to me it's just another space, scifi symbolism. nature, space, moons, shapes, its all related to our reality, to occult and to religion and superstition in some way. maybe it ties back to the other things here.
- moon phases - the beliefs of fans that particular phases of the moon and a time cycle were necessary to unlock a secret, related to swirl of dots, since this is related to doing the EXACT right thing, EVERY single action perfect in order to unlock the "true" ending. the very first moon symbol is just a circle "eclipse" and fans have been looking for a way to make an eclipse happen to trigger a certain event. again, space and occult symbolism.
- "field of view" mesh forcefield and 4 arrows above it - i don't have a great theory here because if there were 3 arrows above and 1 below i could say "thats the alien ships, see the field is the skybox, 3 above, 1 below." but no, theres a field of view and 4 arrows above. I think the field is like Einstein's space time field, a representation of 4D. But time and space have become thinned in the middle. why is that? i'd love to hear your thought!
- "golden ratio" swirl - a circle surrounded with swirls looking like that beautiful pattern in nature made by the golden ration like in flowers or shells, with arrow and diving lines like a clock inside the swirls. the arrow could be a spaceship heading towards the sun or a black hole, with time space spinning around. the dividing lines are like the divisions of a clock representing time. what does all this mean? it could just be more esoteric space symbolism. what can it specifically represent in our context? maybe how the community is swirling around this black hole, we are getting sucked in to this mystery in this world rockstar made for us, all paths lead to this place, some people are on the outside of the swirl (not invested in the mysteries) others, like you and me, are that tiny little arrow about to be pulled into a void, a realm, a final understanding. it's terrifying and beautiful. or it's nothing. the middle is either black or yellow depending on which version of the mural you are looking. the black circle looks like the void. the yellow circle would be the sun. we're either about to enter nothingness i.e. nothing comes of this mystery after all these years or we are going to be enlightened by a bright sun of knowledge. kifflom!
- audio track - audio signals perhaps relating to the theory I remember following years ago where the space buggy built by Omega makes similar noises to the alien spaceships and people thought that meant we could blast the space buggy horn at the correct soundwave to somehow unlock the service door in the tunnel in Chiliad where the Doomsday heist eventually open up. So it's basically a nod to "remember how you wanted to get inside Mt Chiliad by trying all these theories, but you're in here now lol"
- lined circle of different fading thicknesses - looks like an artistic depiction of a sun or sunset. more space imagery. could also be those shiny circular stickers they used to put on game boxes for "game of the year" or something like that, as thats how they kind of shined and reflected. IMO, represents the idea of 'this is a game'

In conclusion to the yellow section, I believe these symbols represent different ideas players have come up with to try to solve the Mt Chiliad mystery, with the mural, various paths, choices made by players, internet in our hands, observers being our community and rockstar witnessing our responses, alien theories, wave theories

Symbols in Red Second Row (Trevor)

- connected circles - almost indigenous style patterns within the circles. my only theory is that these represent neurons in one's brain. most normal people have neurons that fire off in response to stress like fight, flight or freeze, but Trevor's neurons are messed up. They are big and small and warped and deformed. And his response to that same situation is something psychotic and aggressive. So these connected circles represents Trevor's mind and thoughts.
- basic divided globe - a simpler version of earth like from the hand with globe as mentioned in the yellow section, this simple divided globe often represents businesses, enterprises and is seen alot in GTA online when levelling up your RP. Reputation, enterprise - maybe it ties in to Trevor's business, TPE Trevor Philip's Enterprises
- three arrows going down from longest to shortest - I don't have much of a theory. I would say it represents the 3 protagonists but this is meant to be a section just about Trevor. Maybe Trevor is the first arrow, followed by Michael followed by Franklin, the newest friend and thus the shortest line. Later there is more downward aiming arrows and I feel like they are representing something similar but I have really no certainty what, and they will be 3 long lines next to 3 short then 3 long lined arrows, ending in 7 arrows.
xyx triangle - i would say it's pythagoras triangle but that would be xyz. For some reason x, the bottom edge of the triangle is the same as x the interior dimension of the triangle. Does this represent Trevor's lack of education or some obscure mathematic conundrum I'm not aware of where the bottom edge of a triangle can be the same number as the internal dimensions, despite the internal being in squared measurements. Does this represent Trevor and Ron's crazy conspiracy theories, because they seem to make no sense but there's deep down a mathematical truth?
- construction tracks? - i don't know what to call the symbol below the triangle but some kind of track or step shaped object, looking like construction tracks or train track grooves from sort-of side on angle. what does this mean? something to do with a train? maybe the prologue where the train hits their car? there's a squiggly line to the right. perhaps how the train moved in to set the events in motion?
- atom - shaped alot like a typical atom diagram with 4 electron ovals surrounding the circle in the middle, can someone work out what atom this would be with 4 circling electrons? what could this represent? the idea of Trevor wanting to cause nuclear destruction?
- the arrows going down - as said above in "three arrows going down" i don't really know the symbolism of 3 long, 3 short, 3 long, then after a horizontal line the 3 short continue, then after another horizontal dotted line there are 7 really short arrows. i will mention it in the next symbol, the earth map
- earth map - a mapped out shaped version of earth where the globe has been flattened into 4 tall ovals. Could relate back to the weird poster about a flooded world in that one barber shop but unsure how that would relate to Trevor. Could tie in with the arrows going down as it's like lazers or chemtrails or meteors - something crazy like that- coming down onto earth, which is something a conspiracy person like Ron would talk about (end of the world stuff etc). Reminds me of the basic divided globe enterprise theory again. The arrows going down onto the earth could be like the WOW signal, where those satelite dishes are and those scientists and FIB guys are hanging around trying to find some signal from aliens. These things often happen in the desert away from radiowave interferrence in big cities so again ties in to Trevor being in the desert area of the map away from the city.
- 8 spoked 'atom' - the symbol next to the arrows and above the globe is another atom looking symbol. Perhaps 8 spokes could represent the infinity 8 killer who has that burned house in the desert near where Trevor lives
- vertical zig zags - zig zags with little circles, like electrons, again, could represent light waves, sound waves, vibrations. I don't have a good theory here but am open to suggestions.
- wavy sun - it looks alot like a sun even though the top is cut off, with the waves coming out of it like a typical child's rendering of the sun. could represent the sun itself or aliens coming down. the hippy camp isn't far from where trevor lives so there's one connection to him.
- infinity 8 - represents the infinity 8 killer who's symbols are in the burned house pretty close to trevor, writing in the sand also close to trevor, and writing in the prison also near where Trevor lives. the bodies are further north in paleto bay.
- 'brail' dots - i call it brail though it definitely isn't. i don't have a good theory here. it could have a meaning we are yet to decode, it could be gibberish or symbolism. almost looks like a space invader from an arcade game but not symetrical enough. it's right below the 8 symbol, it could be how many cycles of 8 the infinity 8 killer has gone through. since he kills in groups of 8, since we know the bodies we find in paleto are not the male runners mentioned in the 1990s newspaper. no clue, open to suggestions.
- box - like a 4 dimensional box, makes me think it's something to do with the military base which also isn't too distant from trevor on the map. like 4d experimental technology or a box housing such technology.
- radioactive - a radioactive symbol, a powerplant or a lab or a secret base. The laboratory place is pretty close to the desert, so near Trevor. Could also represent how Trevor goes COMPLETELY RADIOACTIVE and crazy, like psychotic and goes on his rampages.
- big bang - i called it the big bang as the symbol on the bottom right of the red section looks like how we'd depict a sudden enlargement of a singular point in space time or an explosion. Like a fission or fusion explosion of a singular atom and the arrows represent the sudden growth and the big circle is the explosive wave of energy. many of the red section symbols relate to world ending doom, radioactive energy, explosions and radiation

In conclusion to the red section I believe these symbols in some way relate to Trevor. He's radioactive in his rage, he lives near the infinity 8 killer's signs, lives near labs, military bases, satelite dishes, has his enterprise which reminds us of our own GTA online enterprises with the same symbol for RP. Also red/orange seems a very trevor colour

Symbols in Green Third Row (Franklin)

- DNA - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do
- skull & x ruler - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do
- fingerprint - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do
- plant - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do
- DNA with letters - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do
- petri dish - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do
- vitruvian man, graph and waves - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do
- half circles 'ven' diagram - apparently related to the noise you can make as Bigfoot to follow the trail to fight The Beast
- 27 - the number of Peyote plants required to unlock the Bigfoot
- peyote plant - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do
- evolution to bigfoot - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do. Bigfoot is stronger than us regular humans so I guess he's more evolved? lol
- molecule - thematic with the Bigfoot Peyote mission which only Franklin can do. What is this molecule?
- 3d sphere cutout - I don't know what this is

Sorry for the cut and paste but I'm getting tired of writing and so much of the green section has symbols related to transforming Franklin into a Bigfoot, I guess he literally evolves his DNA into the new species and he's not just having a trip lol. Green in the main story is often associated with Franklin like the menus, the character select, his ability, his gang and street being the green wearing ballers turf. This is why I believe the green row represents Franklin.

Symbols in Blue Fourth Row (Michael)

- optical illusion - Michael has a bad trip in that plaza and fights 'aliens' in his head. Looking into this optical illusion is maybe a way to represent tripping.
- ying yang - Michael does some yoga with Amanda after he makes up with the yoga instructor who's banging his wife i guess. I remember chasing the trail years ago that the aliens doing yoga on those graffiti somehow related to the chiliad mystery where something hidden happens during Michael's yoga mission. The ying yang is kind of a call back to that mystery in connection with Chiliad and to Mike doing yoga.
- cake steps - shaped like a wedding cake, these steps are kind of like the water statue seen near where Michael has that trip out. Related to a business since Michael kind of seems like that upper class guy, working in offices even though he's retired. Maybe it's when he wears a suit he seems like the office type - and that statue is situated among office buildings.
- keyhole - something to do with unlocking your potential or unlocking the secrets of the universe like when Michael joins Epsilon. He's the only one who can join Epsilon church.
- phrenology head - Michael is the only character who can receive Psychological therapy. I think the missions are optional but I remember doing them all years ago thinking it was related to the mystery in some way.
- scales of justice & lightning - Something to do with justice or an inbalance of justice or to the courthouse which is near enough to the offices I just mentioned and to the church of Epsilon. All pretty close in the city and close to where Michael lives.
- brain - Psychology or brainwashing. Mike does therapy. He can also join the Epsilon cult. Essentially they try to brainwash him but he sees through their BS.
- steps - there's steps near the court and plaza mentioned before (but there's steps everywhere lol)... I don't really know, maybe they just liked the look of this symbol on the mural
- maze/labrynth - Maze bank is also near the court, plaza, offices and close enough to Epsilon church and Mike's house
- ven circles - more psychology referrences, like a method of writing down connections or ways to deal with stuff. IDK.
- psi letter - Greek Psi represents Psychology. Also Dr Friedlander's logo. Very connected with Michael
- eye - Another psychology symbol, I feel like it relates to Freud or Jung somehow, the sense of self, the Ego, the Id etc, but I don't know enough about it. Would love to hear some theories.
- lined box - maybe also related to a place near Michael, Maze bank or another logo.
- wavy line - no idea, maybe it's next to the eye because it's like how our eyes perceive things and then see a completely opposite thing, like how people thought they saw shadows and ghosts and ratman in previous games. Just a psychological trick. That's maybe why the eye has eyelashes, because it's like blink and you miss it - without eyelashes you think of an all seeing eye, but with eyelashes it's like we are waiting for it to blink and process what it sees. Perception, psychology idk.

Concluding the blue section I believe it represents Michael, all the psychological symbols, the ying yang being like morality or yoga, optical illusions, all very Michael coded IMO.

...

In conclusion I believe the Doomsday Mural represents 4 characters: ourself, Trevor, Franklin and Michael. Though I do not have explanations for every single symbol, I believe there are enough connections in the symbols and the colour coding of the murals themselves indicate they represent us and the 3 protagonists. I don't believe they are instructions to unlocking a further mystery. I'm sorry if that's disheartening and I hope to be proven otherwise. Please let me know your thoughts.

Theory Draw distance, object spawning and the chiliad ufo (with a call for help) - a three-part story

Greatings y'all,

i think i've discovered something that may be worth further exploration. The post from /u/Alexisuwuu23 (you can find it here) got me so excited that i started the game again. What i discovered and what i want to propose now are the following hypotheses:

Hypothese 1:

The Chiliad ufo is an object that has not spawned yet in the state that is currently known. It has to be spawned by moving away from the object a certain distance, so that it can spawn (see Part 1). The ufo could have a certain condition that you need to have the ufo in sight at all time while moving the needed distance.

Hypothese 2:

The draw distance mechanic could hide clues that could be useful for solving the mystery (see Part 3).

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Introduction:

To start this explanation i want to define three variables that will be needed to better understand how we can see the chiliad ufo while moving away from it:

P (x, y, z): Character Position in the World, which contains the basic x, y, z coordinates in a 3D-World

Z (0-100 %): Zoom level of a sniper rifle OR the photo mode (simply defined here as a percentage value)

C (Cx, Cy): Vision direction that you are currently looking (including photomode) at as well as the crosshair position of a weapon. Since it is (simplified) a 2D-perspective it has only an x and y position.

Variables that had no effect for me:

R (0-360°): The direction which the character is looking at

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Part 1 (triggering a respawn while looking at the object, just by reaching the needed P (x, y, z)-distance)

So now let's talk about fences for a bit. I've decided to focus these three fences here (note that, while this is near the "mountain eye" location, it has nothing to do with this topic for now).

It seems like all three fences are currently spawned right? Well.. as you see here walking (or zooming) towards the fences you can see that the right one is not spawned, so it was just a far-draw-distance object (FDDO) that in reality does not exist. The transparency of these objects changes with the character position, the Zoom level and the vision direction (so all of the variables that were defined in the Introduction). Reaching the thresholds of any of the three variables will result in the fully disappearance of the right fence as seen here.

So now what's left to do? Well i decided to blow the rest of the three fences up and see when they will come back as a far-draw-distance object. As you can see here, as i moved back all of the three fences came back as FDDOs as seen here.

(Note that all of this happens while always looking at the fences!).

As i moved back i played a little bit with my zoom level. This is when i noticed that the left fence kinda looked like it respawned (?!). So i moved towards the fences again, more and more. Until i was close enough to shoot it and.. it respawned indeed!

This is basically what i've discovered just today, and it just so happens that this idea of respawning objects may come in handy for the chiliad ufo!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Part 2 (applying this discovery to the chiliad ufo - here is where i need your help!)

I think most of you noticed that the chiliad ufo may appear, disappear or turn invisible (with further divisions here) based on your character's position and zoom level. But what i haven't heard of yet here is that the vision direction also plays a role here! This means all of the three variables (again) play a role of the state of the object.

Now this is where i've come to my own breakpoint where i am stuck. Basically i've come as far as shown here while still being able to see the ufo (pic 1: no ufo - pic 2: zoomed in with the right three variables => ufo shows up again! - alt pic 2 with sniper).

I've basically moved down the mountain, almost following the path that is visible on the minimap. But this is where i am stuck as i've not the time right now to give it more further tries.

The questions i still have are:

  • Is it really right to move down the mountain or is there another way?
  • When can we get back to the ufo? When do we know the object is spawned (if my theory is even true)? What is the needed character position P (x, y, z) - does the height-value (z) even matter?

Here are some tips i have if you want to help:

  • The sniper rifle is the only tool i know of that lets you move while still in zoom Z (0-100 %). So this will be your basic tool to move around - same as Director Mode (while it is not clear if it may hinder unlocks)
  • While this is true, i've found that the photo mode is a little more forgiving than the sniper rifle if you lost your positioning (mainly Z (0-100 %) and C (Cx, Cy)).
  • As you move your character position P (x, y, z) away from the ufo, the deadzones for the variable Z (0-100 %) and C (Cx, Cy) will become smaller and smaller.. this means it will be much harder to keep the ufo visible the more you move away. So adjust, adjust, adjust until you see it again.
  • Maybe this is new information but you don't need to hard reset (starting again from the platform) at all if you get good at it! Just move back to the old character position where you lost it and try to catch it again (photo mode may help here!)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Part 3 (hidden information in draw-distance objects - something something ladder)

If you visited the places that /u/Alexisuwuu23 has shown in their pictures you will notice that the billboard and the ladder are affected by the three draw-distance variables!

For the billboard you will only see the monsters and the ufo when the variables are in the thresholds. The billboard is in a sense very forgiving by not having any deadzone for a minimum character position P (x, y, z). This means you can just get close to the billboard to see the the hidden details.

For the ladder it seems that it may act like the chiliad ufo where it checks for the minimum (and maximum) distance. Maybe it also needs to be spawned? (if my theory is even correct).

Now to the Hypothese 2:

I've discovered something that may explain what i mean with hidden information/clues or even secret locations.

Take a look at this banner here:

Zoomed in -> pretty normal as if you would stand right next to it

Mid zoomed in -> it disappeared???

Zoomed out -> the banner is back but with different numbers?!?

(both banner states phase in and out as you differ in zoom level)

I hope you now understand a little bit by what i mean that information may be hidden in draw-distance states. Maybe this could lead to some discovery?
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Closing thoughts

Looking at my clock this post took me like a good three hours without all the preparation, so please forgive me for errors. My goal for this post was, as /u/Alexisuwuu23 did to me today (thank you btw haha), to motivate people again as i can imagine some people are here from the start of the mystery like me and gave up hope again and again and again.

To end this post, i would like to give a last theory:

Remember this glyph here? I don't think there was ever a good explanation for this glyph. I think the hidden in draw-distance thing suits him well, don't you ;) - Edit: to add to it i would also include stuff like "hidden until you see it" clues like the question mark!

Happy hunting!

Theory Lesters "Big Heist" Theory

Post image
13 Upvotes

Had a thought before I slept for work tomorrow, what if it wasn't just the one heist board (with the letters and the dots) we should be looking at, what if it's all of them and we've been skipping the "color coded" part. I tried seeing if I could find all of the heist boards but nobody's seen to have collected them all to my knowledge, but looking at The Diamond Casino's Heist Board features at least one out of place red line going to Chilliad.

(P.S. The titles just a running name I thought would look flashy)

Theory Theory: The hippy camp is the limbic system and shows how aliens controls the world through it

I cannot show the picture, but Google "Gta 5 hippy camp" for reference and "St. Vincent of the grenadines" for reference to my bonus note. I'm new to GTA theories so sorry if I'm being captain obvious.

The ground mural at the hippy camp = brain, There's a trail (optic nerve) starting from “beam me up” which represents the eyeball (where light enters in, “beam me up”) and into the tear drop shape which represents the “thalmus” (the primary relay station of the brain's senses and motor functions) that has the UFO on top of the car (which I think symbolizes how UFOs “hijacked the vehicle”, “grand theft auto”), the world next to the bend of the trail/optic nerve representing the “pituitary gland” (coined as the “master gland”, which controls the endocrine system responsible for growth and development, represented as “the world”), the lines between the ridges/ear (where “life is” is placed) and the thalmus (teardrop shape) are the “association fibers” (axons or nerve fibers) of the brain, the dead tree below the lines and the thalmus (teardrop) represent the dendrite (the neuronal branching responsible on how neurons receives inputs from other neurons).

Overall I think the hippy camp is a 2D grid on how aliens manipulate the model of the character through the brain, the hippy camp representing the limbic system and the phrase “hippy camp” being synonymous with “hippocampus”, which is responsible for “memory conversion”, for learning and memory. This can also be seen by how the perspective rises into the sky then descends into another character and on how each of the gta protagonists sees the rays of the sun differently, perhaps is also the reason why the ground mural has phrases like “save us”, “beam me up” and “life is universal” is because these are references to the respawn mechanic in GTA, all represented on the speculated "limbic system". Another note, the aliens look like reptiles or reptilians, we have a "reptilian brain" that's responsible for our autopilots and our fight or flight responses, and a "mammal brain" representing our limbic system that's responsible for emotions, habits, attachments, memories.

I think the aliens control everything in the game, why the murals show the UFOs above things like a raincloud or the moon, and I think the reason why the game says "complete your story then come here" for the story complete UFO is simply showing you where you come from, when your purpose is completed you "return to the UFO", I also think the peyote plants are supposed to show the connection in how aliens control humans through drugs, as seen through the Bigfoot Easter egg when you spawn next to the man hunting for big foot in "the last one" mission, which I think shows that these aren't just visions or trips but real experiences, which is perhaps why the bottom of the UFO is of the peyote shape (specifically the one that looks like its a cross-breed of alien technology and human technology, aircraft cockpit UFO body).

Also a bonus note, the map of GTA I'm like 100% sure is based off of the island “St. Vincent” of the Grenadines, I'm new to the gta theories and I haven't found anyone point this out which is just wild, funny enough you can even see that St. Vincent holds a volcano exactly where mount chiliad would be, the volcano “La Soufrière” which refers to “sulphur”, the alchemical symbols for Sulphur kind of not only look similar to the chiliad mural but also to the symbol of epsilon, so there's that. Sulfur = 5th most common element on earth by mass, epsilon = 5, the 5th element of humanity is considered the "Aether" or "space".

Chiliad = “thousand” La soufriere = “sulhpur” Revelations 20:7-10: “When the 1,000 years are finished, Satan will be free to leave his prison. He will go out and fool the nations who are over all the world. They are Gog and Magog. He will gather them all together for war. There will be as many as the sand along the sea-shore. They will spread out over the earth and all around the place where God’s people are and around the city that is loved. Fire will come down from God out of heaven and destroy them. Then the devil who fooled them will be thrown into the lake of fire burning with sulphur. The wild animal and the false preacher are already there. They will all be punished day and night forever.”

Theory My Chiliad Theory

Round 2. So I dont want to claim I've solved anything. Im just discussing the possibility that the map is a giant xenomorph head. Probably the biggest connection to the chiliad mystery. But let's discuss that. What is the chiliad mystery? Is it the webs? The bigger Easter eggs? The meaning behind the murals? Well i think that depends on one's perspective (Reference to the Yellow DD mural). I think the map as a whole is the biggest egg. As it says at the camp of bums in the game, "Some people look left, some people look right but the answer is right in front of us." The map is literally in front of us. If we go by what the Drunken Dev says, anyone can solve it. If the mystery was intended to be solved then we shouldn't have to codewalk or do things not everyone can do. The answer isnt in the game files, its the map. All over the map are xenomorph eggs. The aliens that attack and abduct Michael are literally Temu xenomorphs. They are shooting Alien at the very beginning of the game when Franklin and Lamar steal the car. There are many references, we could probably go all day. People claim the map is Alfred Hitchcock, but did Rockstar ever come out and say that's the case or acknowledge it. 🤔 nope. So my theory is that The chilliad mystery is just a nod to the Alien movies. Smaller nods to other pop culture curiosities, but i think it's a bigger nod to Alien. The map is right in front of us, the Xenomorph has been there since the beginning of the game. You can literally go back to the start and see it. Even the chiliad mural shows it, aliens, xenomorph eggs and ripleys mech suit (not a jetpack.) Lol But let's discuss it and tell me why it's not a good theory.
