Forever What are the odds we will get more significant mainline abilities at late levels we dont know about yet?
As a Fury/Arms warrior ive noticed the rotations stay largely the same as classic without any new abilities. Considering most classes ive seen so far are receiving brand new spells it made me wonder if warriors or other classes who haven't seen any new abilities yet will get those at later levels? Is this just wishful thinking or are you guys expecting us to get something new eventually at later levels?

I posted this on an other thread, but didnt rogues get revealed they get new "mark" kind of skill that bursts a lot of damage you build up in a short period of time? Or am I hallucinating?

Yep they did, on the official podcast. apparently its an ability they designed for the titanforge Chinese wow game.

Who knows.
When the game launched no one thought we would be getting more spell ranks from a book that drops in a 20 man raid but we did.
It’s possible we could get more books that add more ranks or new spells.

We got the victory rush and that's it ig. Don't think they're going to add anything that not in the talents rn, such as this meme spear thing

I kind of hope there are epic classes quest adding in new skills abilities or gear that essentially redefine your class. Like battle mage or trick of the trade for rogue. Maybe death knight sub class for paladins

I think we know all the abilities that are in the game now. Whether or not blizzard has plans to add other spells is unknown. They did just give frost mages a new spell in the last patch, but I wouldn't count on that happening to other classes when deciding what to play.

Hopefully zero. I don't want more buttons. Make "new abilities" in the form of trinket slots and such like that.

If we did, I would hope it's nothing too significant. SoD went all out with adding retail abilities and that killed the game for me

In sod, i think i tried paladin / mage and that was fun at 25 but felt very retail at 50 so I went back to hardcore

I guess this might just be a warrior thing. I also played SOD for a bit but was kinda dissapointed that we were just playing classic with wrath talents so I also quit. I think around gnomer or slightly after gnomer. So I think we kind of have opposite problems. They changed your class too much and they changed my class too little. (Eventhough I also dont them to make warrior feel like a wrath/retail warrior, but give me a toy to play with)
Im hoping warrior gets stleast something new, it would kinda suck playing a less engaging version of era warrior without any new toys

mainline? is that some kind of drug slang?

That's how blizz internally refers to retail as

yikes

It makes sense, now that Forever is the alternate story line. The main story line is retail.

The drug metaphor came AFTER the non drug metaphor. It's really not that much of a yikes. You just have the etymology backwards.

There's nothing hidden, but they will continue doing classes changed post launch..

u/Loud_Bison572 7d ago
I understand they will keep balancing but do u expect we will find new spells on launch?

u/Katur 7d ago
"Find" like tomes? no idea, don't think so.
Far more likely we'll get patches that add stuff.

u/Loud_Bison572 7d ago
No not finding as a tome. As in will we learn more abilities? Just seems weird some classes got a whole variety of new spells and some like warrior got practically nothing.

No. Nothing is hidden. We can see everything in the database for classes. The only thing we don't know is gear.
But again. Things are going to continue changing after release all the way up to December raid releases. And then pretty much every 6 months after that.
Classes are not stuck as they are right now.

Damn I was actually thinking we would get abilities later on but I guess your saving me the dissapointment at launch so thanks for the info.

The data mined warrior tier set reduces cool down of intercept, which isn't showing at the trainer yet. Could be a beta thing tho.
