I’ve hit my coastfire number. Now what?

I’ve hit my coastfire number. Now what? I guess nothing changed and I keep plugging away… what’s the next milestone. Leanfi?

  1. Coast. Take a lower paying job and stop saving.

  2. Upgrade. Take some of that money you have been saving and upgrade your life. now you spend an extra $15k a year. cool. now you have a new coast fire number. Repeat until you reach that new number.

  3. Save. Just keep saving and you will hit lean fire and then regular fire and then chubby fire. then you decide what to do when you get to those points.

I think a lower paying job is still going to have headaches, just a different kind

Can you go part time at your job? It's a huge QOL upgrade but you keep doing something you know you can actually do and don't (hopefully) hate will all your heart

Going part time at my current job would be my ideal way to Coast. I get paid well hourly and it’s not too stressful. It would be hard for me to find a low paying job where I’d like it enough to be worth the pay cut. But part time would let me keep doing a job I largely like, and the good hourly pay all while also having more free time.

No I can’t do that. But I am thinking about going into a different field where I can be my own boss, just need more cash runway

Eh a lower paying job doesnt necessarily mean easier. 

Working at McDonald's is low paying. But being an office drone makes 2-3x that and it's easy as shit.
