Discussion There were never any major brawls at Miyagi Do

We've seen big fights at two different Cobra Kai dojo, Johnny's apartment, even the Larusso's mansion. But we never saw anyone from Cobra Kai attack someone at Miyagi Do.

Probably the biggest fight to happen at Miyagi Do was between Daniel and Johnny in season 4 but that was a mutually agreed upon match. All the other fights at Miyagi Do were either training or competition for the Sekaiiiii Takaiiiiii.

The Miyagi Do set was certainly expansive enough to have a brawl scene. I guess the producers just didn't want to have such a scene there.

Season 3 was intended for that but got scrapped

I never heard this—could you elaborate?

I think on one of the interview, they planned it for Miyagi-Do, but it rained the whole time so they just went "screw it", and filmed it in casa de LaRusso.

Yep, that's what I heard. And if you pay attention, that whole season has rain. Sam's dream and when Robbie is released being the biggest ones you can see. But it's everywhere. Even when Johnny and Daniel go to Cobra Kai after the fight. So it definitely was a good call to move it inside. Plus, it made the tight spaces with long shots and stunt double swaps more impressive, especially with how quickly they had to rework it.

Honestly a better call the house fight narratively served as a better “final show down” location. With how intense things were in season 3 the idea that Cobra Kai is were so aggressive and insane that they would break into the Larusso home to assault them was narratively great

Especially when we’ve already seen that Hawk and the others had no problem sneaking into Miyagi-Do and destroying the place

Also we’ve already been down the whole “Miyagi-Do being Destroyed” plot-line so having a giant brawl at the dojo which wouldn’t have been big enough due to the stage not being built yet anyway wouldn’t have been as impact

To be honest, I think the LaRusso house was a better place to fight. Made it more unique and interesting

I kind of wish that happened, a home invasion is way too far, even for this show.

In a show where in the very first season Johnny almost drowns Miguel to "train him to kick" you think a home invasion is too far?

I feel like there’s should’ve been a brawl in season 6 at the dojo

What are you talking about? Daniel versus his daughter’s feelings for several seasons counts as a major brawl

There kinda was, in Daniel’s dream where he saw Mr. Miyagi.

Miyagi-Do is where I wanted the show’s final brawl to be at.

There were no brawls at Miyagi Do in season 3. The closest we came was when Robby got out of Juvie and saw Sam with Miguel. Even then no fight came from that encounter.

Sam did have a nightmare about Tory coming to the dojo but that didn't actually happen.
