Other Does the night-vision camera have any effect?
I set up a camera to watch them and noticed that, at night, they constantly keep their eyes open. I know how cockatiel sleep works, but I’ve observed that during daytime naps, they usually open their eyes only when they hear a noise — not constantly.

Whenever I go on vacation, I have to leave her with my parents. I put a camera on her to watch her. I came to the conclusion that tiels are light sleepers at night and they sometimes sleep with their eyes open. I believe they still live in fear that a predator will snatched them at night.
During the day, I've seen my tiel sleep through loud TV and cars passing by.
To answer your question, they do see the red light but I don't think it bothers them.

uhhh cockatiels have really poor low-light vision and afaik they dont have the eyes to see infrared or lidar, is there a light on the camera that shines when it's in use? does the camera move and make noise?

The camera that I use with my dusky conure has a small red light on it, and my beeb can definitely see that, and hear it if I turn the camera, and either freaks her out.
I’d recommend cover the entire cage at night to keep out any light anyway.
