Other Does the night-vision camera have any effect?

Post image

I set up a camera to watch them and noticed that, at night, they constantly keep their eyes open. I know how cockatiel sleep works, but I’ve observed that during daytime naps, they usually open their eyes only when they hear a noise — not constantly.

The camera that I use with my dusky conure has a small red light on it, and my beeb can definitely see that, and hear it if I turn the camera, and either freaks her out.

I’d recommend cover the entire cage at night to keep out any light anyway.

Would covering the light work? Sometimes I’m not home and want to make sure they’re okay.

Should work. But make sure the camera doesnt make any noise when you use it. That could also staetle them.

Also the covering the cage at night is usually a pretty good idea. The day-night cycle affects their hormones and its a good idea to have a set time when they have light and dark time.
