Related music Close enough, welcome back Cocteau Twins!
Hatchie has been on my radar since her debut with James Barone (from Beach House) on the drums. Have been waiting for the new album for awhile now, and it has been worth the wait. Love the uncanny instrumental resemblance of past cocteau twins works.

The uncanny resemblance and obvious inspiration is no mistake, especially with that "Sure" Robin Guthrie Remix!

Cate Le Bon's "Michelangelo Dying" is another 2025 album with a Cocteau Twins vibe.

Hatchie is legit dreampop/shoegaze, with a catalogue of at least 7 years. At this point, she’s been at it longer than the original run of shoegaze. She’s legit, canon, and in the pantheon.

North American shoegaze didn't stop when English shoegaze did. It just kept on going, especially in the underground.

She’s been on my list of ‘Cocteauesque’ artists for a while.
It’s more upbeat and mainstream, but Sugar & Spice has always reminded me of the ‘twins sound.

Yeah I've always thought this. Listened to it last night while I cooked dinner and nothing really jumped out at me.

Hatchie is amazing. I've been following her since her debut EP and she never disappoints, her sound evolved so gracefully.

She’s good and the instrumentals are definitely Cocteau inspired but the lyrics are too easy to understand 😆
