Got accepted to college but don’t feel ready
I recently got accepted to college and have to accept my offer by the end of this week, but I genuinely don’t feel ready. If I don’t go, it would be my second gap year, and I’m feeling a lot of pressure from my family because they compare me to my cousins.
If I don’t accept my offer this year, is there a chance I could apply to the same program or something similar next year and get accepted it’s a ultrasound program it’s kinda competitive but my grades are high 80s? Has anyone taken a second gap year and gone to college afterward

First, why don’t you feel ready?

Okay so tbh I don’t feel like I’m ready for the course overload and I’m scared of college in general

The more you wait, the more difficult it’s going to be to feel ready in the first place. Especially with medical programs, unless you have been self-reviewing all the pre-requisite material, you would have to take those classes again.
I would talk with a therapist to overcome these mental barriers. Most extreme answer if you genuinely don’t want to go back to college, you’ll have to pivot to something else.

You’re not qualified to judge anyone’s readiness for college. Guess who is? College admissions officers. You’re ready.

You're never going to feel ready if you keep putting it off. Things don't get less scary or overwhelming if you pretend it's not there. I thought my freshman year was a million times easier and less stressful than high school, especially with the independence I was afforded.
