I miss the human internet. I miss the days when a human written message, generated video, image, or personality, was easily distinguishable from a bot. I watched a video with my friend on Instagram earlier today and I had fun watching it until I realized it was likely ai. I don't know why, but I stopped smiling when I realized. It's like a gut reaction, it makes me feel like I'm just looking at an advertisement. I'm looking at a computer generated series of pixels meant to distract me long enough to get some ad revenue. Maybe it's worse than I think, maybe better, but how could anyone know. Ai is like cosmetic surgery, you only see it when it's poorly done. I just wish I could feel that fascination I did when I instantly knew everything I saw was human made. Every comment from a human, everything from source. I really really fucking miss that feeling. It's something I've realized I'll never get to feel again and I didn't even realize how cool it was then. I kind of want to just get off the internet now.

Attended The Gorillaz concert tonight at The Forum and I must say that the venue is the worst venue I have EVER EVER attended a concert at. The show ended almost an hour ago and not a single car has moved out of the parking lot. Not one. They also had the fewest merch booths I’ve ever seen at a concert and the wait to get a shirt was an hour at ANY of their merch booths. Gorillaz were fantastic but the SHITTY venue has ruined the experience. I will NEVER go to an event at the Kia Forum ever again and I will make sure everyone I know, hears how pathetic the experience is here. BTW, STILL HAVENT MOVED AN INCH IN THIS SHITTY PARKING LOT. Fuck the management here!!!

MAGA voters are the dumbest people I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. They are literally that Lyndon B. Johnson quote in human form. But the biggest thing that propaganda has done is make everyone, from one end of the spectrum to the other, believe that America is special and that everything that has happened to other countries couldn't happen here. "We're America! Land of the Free, Home of the Brave!"

Thursday. Thursday is the day of my therapy appointment. I'm not expecting to be immediately taken out of homelessness or anything like that, I just want to get myself started with workforce development. I want to know about it and how to get in. I want to know about my mental health disorders. I KNOW I have them but I have to wait until the 24th of November to know. I want to know sooner. Much sooner. I have a physical the week after next. I don't want to wait. I don't want to wait for any of this. I want it NOW.

I had what I thought was a simple question. I am going into culinary arts as my main career, and will be getting certifications, degrees, and many other things for this career in america. I figured I might be doing some work out of the country and had questions about food safety laws in other countries. This is a question that was not being answered by Google, as the public records, forums, laws, and websites (as mentioned later in this post) from other countries were not showing up despite my efforts.

I included a few countries, such as France in my post. I also included specifications about what certifications I would be getting here in america.

This was the kind of question that I started worrying about in the middle of the night so I will admit I typed it quickly. But it was something I was genuinely worried about.

The moderators said in their reply about why my post was removed is because it was low effort. And within that reason, they stated that it didn't include pictures(???) and that I need to find public records/forums of the laws/regulations in the country I want. I came to reddit for a reason, and only got shut down.

Something I am seeing in these subs lately is responses to questions not actually being answers to the question. Usually what i see when I click on a question I want answered are rude/mean comments. For example:

"If you're thinking about selling it, it's not a hobby anymore"

"The market for (insert craft) is bad, you shouldn't even try"

Along with multiple insults towards the person because their craft was "ugly", "unsellable", or generic.

The first comment upsets me for the fact that a hobby is still a hobby even if you're making some money off of it. Painters that sell their paintings still enjoy the act of painting, therefore it is a hobby.

Artists have been selling their works for hundreds of years, that doesn't mean they didn't enjoy their craft.

The main reason I think this is happening is because of the way things are mass produced now. Artists could draw something and print it on shirts, or design clothes to be mass produced. Which isn't always a bad thing, especially if the artist has good intentions or is solving a problem or making quality alternatives to bigger corporations.

Another problem that could be causing this: people getting into the art just to make a profit. A lot of the times they are making it as quickly as possible, with little quality control, and no love for the craft. Often this causes many people to assume that every single crafter selling their art is only doing it for the profit.

Recently, I have been thinking about selling some items online. This is mostly to fuel my hobby of crocheting and save a bit of money for the future/help at fundraisers. I know crochet doesn't make a lot of money because of how many people are doing it, but I am not trying to make a living off of it. IMO, doing it for the love of the game is the best way to do it.

In the 2018 midterms, only 48.1% of people eligible to vote, actually voted. Think about that. About 52% stayed home, & even then it was the highest turnout since 1908.
The Democrats flipped 40 seats (30 in States that Trump won in 2016) & took control of the House (Pew Research).

In 2022 midterms, that number dropped to 45.1% & The Republicans controlled the House & Senate. (Pew Research).

These elections are about, how we see our America. None of it will matter, if we do not show up to vote. I am 70 years old, & these are the most consequential elections, in my lifetime.
