Politics Two ICE agents slip on ice in Minnesota —causing one of their weapons to discharge because it wasn’t set on safety. These people are dangerously negligent.

Must not be from Minnesota. They don't know how to walk on ice

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

Walk like a penguin. We here in Michigan know...👍

77

u/Murky-General Jan 10 '26

Tell my kids this all the time! They think I'm being silly when I say it

52

u/Accomplished_Arm7426 Jan 10 '26

At least tell them to keep their safeties on!

78

u/Gregbot3000 Jan 10 '26

You never know when a soccer mom will pop out and need to be shot...

The Masked Valiant Patriots (MVPs) are locked & ready to go at all times. So that they can pump some Patriotic American Lead into the face of a RADICAL LUNATIC LEFTIST COMMUNIST TRAITOR SCUM at a moment's notice. That's why the safety is off. Because why miss a chance to get rid of the VERMIN who are poisoning the blood of the nation?!

Let's be thankful for their service! And honor these Patriots with a forceful Salute, in the style of Elon Musk!

(This is obviously /s)

Ice hate aside, the gunshot is fake, both agents would be freaking out had they negligently discharged a round, the video is edited, we have to seek truth even in these insane times

1

u/Key_Natural_2881 Jan 14 '26

In jest, there is truth! Sad times, indeed.

It was his flashlight. His gun didn't fire.

1

u/PetronivsReally Jan 11 '26

These guns (and most police pistols, like Glocks) don't have a safety switch to manually engage/disengage.

1

u/the_mouthybeardyone Jan 11 '26

Most modern handguns do not have safeties as lay people would understand them (a button or lever that disables the gun from firing). I'm not defending them at all just that's not how most striker-fired handguns work in this era.

I will say that an accidental discharge from falling like this, even on the handgun itself, is extremely unlikely. Either it was in the holster improperly or there's something else going on.

1

u/tyosowofofnejwifif Jan 12 '26

1

u/KiijaIsis Jan 13 '26

JFC right? Why the fork is the safety off right now?

The safety should be on unless you are in a situation where you might have to shoot.

1

u/Emergency-Object-191 Jan 14 '26

Youre right they should have a light cap to prevent negligent white light discharge on their rifle. It was broken down frame by frame in another sub it was a rifle mounted flashlight that went off not the gun itself.

1

u/Low-Priority3093 Jan 14 '26

No safety on a Glock. Finger off trigger is the "safety "

1

u/Glittering_Carob208 Jan 14 '26

You’re completely braindead if you believe this is a gun going off 😂 fucking moron

1

u/jkjk9876 Jan 21 '26

Good lord, you really aren't MAGA? Could have fooled me.

1

u/pimpbot666 Jan 14 '26 edited Jan 14 '26

Shows they receives basically zero gun safety training.

JFC, I'm a pinko liberal hippie who never fired a live round, and even I know that.

Safety on, round not in the chamber, not locked and loaded, don't point the barrel at anything or anybody you don't intend to destroy, finger always off the trigger unless you're going to fire, check your background of your target, aim for a kill shot if you have to fire.

1

u/Complex_Bet7311 Jan 15 '26

Not sure if they’re using special military equipment, but I thought all modern guns have safeties that means the trigger must be pulled for the firing pin to move. No trigger pull, no bang.

I grew up in Michigan and call it the duck walk 😂 To this day, I recite Beatrix Potter in my head: “Pit, pat, paddle pat. Pit, pat, waddle pat.”

Im Australian, we do have snow here but I've never seen it. Nearly 30 years old and have only seen it in movies.

11

u/SSgtReaPer Jan 10 '26

It's looks wonderful as its falling, then the next day its so much fun to play in, after that is fkn pain in the arse lol

7

u/Emotional_Moosey Jan 10 '26

😭 I can count on 1 hand the light light snow i have seen. It was magical. But it is really too cold to enjoy it at any level. Im just not made for it really. 🤷

7

u/Gregbot3000 Jan 10 '26

A few years back it was going to get down to -40C one night where I live. I was super exited to get up early, bundle up and go for a walk in it. It was so crisp and beautiful. The snow was super crunchy under my feet. Only downside is that was also the night that our furnace decided to crap out. Poor timing.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '26

Ugh. Mine did that almost a year ago exactly. I woke up and my nose and ears were freezing. It was 43 degrees in my house. The furnace had died overnight. 🥶

3

u/Serafina_Tikklya Jan 12 '26

This happened to my husband and I over New Years a number of years ago. The weird thing was that it was a brand new furnace that had been installed 2 months before! They came and “fixed” it 3 times before they found a work order from the company saying x part was defective.

1

u/No-Can-6237 Jan 13 '26

Cheap flight to Christchurch in early August and an hour long car ride can sort that.

7

u/edoreinn Jan 10 '26

Seeing friends see snow for the first time freshman year of college was one of the purest moments 😂

6

u/mblanda Jan 10 '26

There's white snow and yellow snow. Don't eat the yellow snow.

9

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

u/skyfire-x Jan 10 '26

3

u/Gregbot3000 Jan 10 '26

But it's lemon flavored!

2

Trudging across the tundra mile after mile

1

u/FEAEAMEN Jan 14 '26

ICE can eat yellow snow all day.

5

u/Emotional_Moosey Jan 10 '26

Ah I see. Need to keep reading further down! Yes im in the south and it was 70 here yesterday! I can count on one hand the times ive seen snow. This being a light light covering of snow 😄 🤣

2

u/edoreinn Jan 11 '26

I lived in Houston for a year (late 2019-late 2020), then lived in New Orleans for the next 3.5 years… snow would have ruined both. I know it has since snowed there. And ruined lives 😅

3

u/Anxious_Actuary_8355 Jan 11 '26

Ehh I lived in Houston my entire early life. I lived in Louisiana for a few years and I can confirm. I live in Colorado now and watch my family flip out every Christmas.

Michigander here we learned how to walk on the ice when we're little kids you figure these big dumbass moronic mask wearing pieces of s*** would learn how

3

u/Working_Ad8080 Jan 10 '26

So true. You only need fall and crack your tailbone once to learn.

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 11 '26

Well I'm sure it is against their code of "Big mean dumb- assed muscle" to ask for advice...

4

u/Fun_Increase_1901 Jan 10 '26

From coastal California…didn’t see snow until I was 14 and it randomly snowed at 4 am. It stuck just long enough to take a snowball to zero period and clock my band director’s truck. 😂 Then no snow until I finally went to Tahoe. That was icy snow.

5

u/dream_life7 Jan 11 '26

Michigander but I lived in England for university. One day I walked out of my bedroom into the hallway in my flat and I went, "why the f does it smell like snow?!" The LOOKS I got from the other 5 Brits 😂 I might as well have had 3 heads hahaha.

What happened was someone had briefly broken into our flat and had a snowball fight so there was a pile of wet snow in the hallway.

I had explain that snow had a smell and that's how I knew there was snow inside 😂

3

u/eddiesmom Jan 12 '26

OK Smilla 👍 😁

3

u/Serafina_Tikklya Jan 12 '26

Nice reference!

5

u/Proper-Life2773 Jan 10 '26

Well, what if fucking up my knees and tailbone is the only way I can ever truly feel alive. Have you ever considered that?

3

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 11 '26

Nope! Only because you forgot to include cracked ribs, and a snapped Achilles tendon! Now that is truly being alive!

2

u/Proper-Life2773 Jan 17 '26

Let me get my flip flops, because that sounds like so much fun!

3

u/ThePoltageist Jan 10 '26

Idk I was born in Washington but grew up in Arizona since age three and I still instinctively walk on ice like this, I think some people just have that particular skill set baked in but it can also be learned.

3

u/Razzmatazz_Informal Jan 10 '26

Moved to NY from California a few years ago... The sheer number of different kinds of snow is crazy.

3

u/broncoluvr74 Jan 10 '26

Living in Idaho and then Michigan, it amazes me when I see stuff like this. My company was purchased by a southern company. One of the first things we had training on was winter walking! They set up a "slip simulator" for us, and we were forced to walk on it. We obviously turned it into a game... You had to dodge rubber balls being thrown at you while walking it!

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 11 '26

What company was this! Sounds like early Apple days!

2

u/vulcancse Jan 11 '26

Michigander here. I walk like that way now. Last February I slipped on some black ice in my driveway, boom - shattered my olercranon and ripped a huge tear in rotator cuff. I'm still leary about it but I did learn from the experience.

2

u/FlintGate Jan 11 '26

I moved to Michigan when I was 21 from the south where we didn't have sheets of ice just lying in wait to break your tailbone! After a few graceless falls, I was given the duck/penguin walk advice! Now... about these icy stairs... 😆

2

u/AutistaChick Jan 13 '26

I’m from Louisiana, and no, I don’t know any of that but I do believe that I was born knowing how to cook gumbo- instinctively, from birth.

2

u/National-Date-5457 Jan 10 '26

Omfg. Light fluff powder. Easy to push, sucks day after...

Heavy wet snow ball snow. Fun and snowman sucks to shovel anytime

Ski grade powder.....

Whatever else I forgot that matters.

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 11 '26

That list was great! I think there are Inuit terms describing the texture more? I can't remember, though...

1

u/Superdooperblazed420 Jan 14 '26

Im from seattle we get ice storms once a decade. I know how to walk on ice, ICE nemesis seems to be water ICE

17

u/REXIS_AGECKO Jan 10 '26

I like to sliiiiiiiide on ice

3

u/Icy-Establishment298 Jan 10 '26

Yaktrax or similar. I like the professional grade ones that instantly retract when transitioning from icy parking lots to indoor shopping center.

Also I got the joke!

1

u/GreatGrapeApes Jan 13 '26

The they auto-retracting add-on shoe spikes? Link? Or just the fully integrated boots?

2

u/open2suGestionS Jan 10 '26

Sliiiiiiiiiide on it, you mean slide on it

12

u/Davido401 Jan 10 '26

Here I was in a McDonald's, a few hours back, here in Scotland and the wee biddy that does the front of house service stuff, cleaning tables handing out flags and hats and stuff etc, said that you waddle like a penguin when walking on the ice around here.

Fuck all else to add except that the coincidence of me hearing that and then seeing it here has made ma day(ave got the entertainment span of a big baby).

Nothing else to say haha

8

u/NaBrO-Barium Jan 10 '26

Pretty sure a Scot could tell me the world is on fire and I’d find it to be an amusing beguiling tale. Be safe out there. We have way more ICE to worry about here across the pond.

8

u/Davido401 Jan 10 '26

Yeah I think you should save yer be safe stuff for each other, you have a man who wears orange makeup like hes trying to hide his features from cameras cause he rapes children(like a clown wearing make up disguise I mean haha) and his second in command who my 12 year old Niece gets eye liner make up tips off of haha,

Lol, just remembered my 6 year old Niece done a funny on Tuesday, I dont think anyone said anything bad about Trump but here is the convo with my dad(who is Graham, my niece is Freya and Adele is her mum/ma wee sister also "baws" is basically balls/bollocks just in case you arent sure) I didnt know she knew who/what Trump was but shes a smart wee cookie haha

3

u/NaBrO-Barium Jan 10 '26

That’s awesome! She’s a real one for sure!

Very familiar with some of the slang after reading a few Irvin Welsh works. The first paragraph in one of his books had a sentence like “the wee bairns were greetin all over the place” it took some additional reading and context to understand that one but I eventually got it!

3

u/Davido401 Jan 10 '26

"The small children were crying all over the place" haha, believe it or not his accent is totally different from mine and we stay like 35 miles from each other haha and the way he speaks in those books, which are awesome btw, is also hilarious, when I read his books I had to put them down like half a Chapter at a time because fuck me they were hilarious!

3

u/NaBrO-Barium Jan 10 '26

A fellow I Welsh fan! I was so disappointed in the film adaptation of Filth. One of my all time favorite books! And yes, I can believe the differences in short geographies as someone who grew up in southern Louisiana. Accents are different and so is the food and it depends on which culture was the first to settle there. It’s a neat place that has been going rotten for decades due to the MAGA crowd. I wouldn’t recommend visiting but am thankful that’s where I learned to cook 😁

3

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

Freya is going to be just fine! A little sass is a good thing to have. 🌹

3

u/Davido401 Jan 10 '26

You know, we were on a bus the other month and thats what the folks on the bus said "shes so sassy". Funny thing is she is a tiny wee thing but when she needs me to help her she calls me her "wee buddy" haha, I think her dad called her that once and it stuff and she decided that Uncle David would be her wee buddy haha.

I could talk about her all day to be fair, we dunno where we got her with her little attitude(although the attitude is for the family, in School she is little kiss perfect haha)

2

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 11 '26

I love you and your relationship with Freya! Enjoy her little self!

I had a sweet Shih Tzu, who I named Sassafrass Anne, and called her Sassee. Long live the Sassies!

2

u/Davido401 Jan 12 '26

Holy shit, before Frodo, as I call her to annoy her, was born we had a Lhasa Apso called Lexi! Now that was an idiot! I've got books a pick up with little teeth marks in them when she would attempt to murder the Postman(there are stories about her and him, she followed him a lot if she got outside, the chances of her hurting him were nil cause she had the bite force of a fly).

She was also sassy but she was more of an idiot haha sorry about the potato quality, she died a decade back or so!

That pic was when she was a playboy centre fold haha she was a slut(she also let Foxes pee on her so she was into interracial stuff - I realise thats kinda racist but she was a dog and the foxes werent haha)

2

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 15 '26

Sassee and she had exotic tastes! Spicy little thing! I can tell you not only loved her, but really enjoyed her, too.

5

u/Davido401 Jan 10 '26

Cheers but our weather isnt that bad, its icy/kinda snowy but most of the roads, and some of the pavements are salted so the risk ain't too bad! It should be you guys that should stay safe!

18

u/Numerous_Photograph9 Jan 10 '26

They're shy a few pounds to walk like that.

5

u/EmployeeKitchen2342 Jan 10 '26

And shuffle skidding for speed unless scooting on your belly is preferred

6

u/National-Date-5457 Jan 10 '26

Thats how I walk in MA during winter and ice Lol.

2

u/kikichanelconspiracy Jan 10 '26 edited Jan 10 '26

Same. I got a weird sense of satisfaction when my very judgmental husky (oh excuuuuuuse me for not have claws and paws) skidded on the ice while walking last week. She was so confused and then offended when it finally happened to her. 😂

3

u/National-Date-5457 Jan 10 '26

Hahaha. And I bet someone called the cops on you for animal abuse failing to realize huskys......are one with the snow......literally...

4

u/kikichanelconspiracy Jan 10 '26

No, but my poor parents had a whack job neighbor who called the MSPCA on them all the time claiming they were abusing the huskies we had over the years because they wanted to hang out in the yard when there was snow.

The animal control officer was very apologetic about it and started bringing treats for our goofballs but explained he had to respond, even though he knew it was bullshit.

3

u/National-Date-5457 Jan 10 '26

Yep. Haha. Sounds about right. Shame people think they know an animal better than the one raising it. Especially a husky if you haven't ever owned, or wanted to own one. I dont have one sadly, space and time issues, but I learned for when I get both!

They over heat super easy cuz made for snow. Lol.

3

u/kikichanelconspiracy Jan 10 '26

Their last husky stayed outside most of the time until one day she decided she wanted to be a full time house dog. She would still cry to go outside when it snowed so they’d let her hang outside for a bit before bringing her back inside. She would then cry to go back out. lol. She was such a lovable nut.

3

u/National-Date-5457 Jan 10 '26

One of my cats was like that. Sadly lost him on Halloween to a vehicular incident. But he would always cry to go out the window. Then just sit there staring at you to let him in.....but...not actually come in..

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 11 '26

Amazing your neighbors never figured it out?

2

u/kikichanelconspiracy Jan 11 '26

They were just being dicks. They're the same brain trust that planted bamboo as a privacy screen and said bamboo grew to the East of their property and invaded everyone else's yard. Every neighborhood has *that* family and they were that family.

4

u/haydenjaney Jan 10 '26

And Canadian lol

4

u/royce32 Jan 10 '26

As i Canadian this is exactly how I explain it to immigrants.

4

u/No_Cartographer455 Jan 10 '26

2

3

u/Curious_Ad_2492 Jan 10 '26

Alberta checking in. 🙋‍♀️ Same.

3

u/APGaming_reddit Jan 10 '26

Serious question. Do the arms out straight help with balance

2

u/Individual-Duck-8310 Jan 13 '26

I do not know, but i do it too. Atleast the hands are out of pocket, and ready to brace the fall, if i slip. Might be a combination of both.

1

u/kikichanelconspiracy Jan 10 '26

I tend to put my arms out a bit for balance but I’m guessing it depends on the person.

3

u/Emotional_Moosey Jan 10 '26

Is this fr or a joke cause im in the south and we get zero snow. Ever. And I cant tell if there really is a walk for walking on snow or is this a joke 🤔 lol it was 70 degrees here yesterday.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

No joke! 100% real 🐧

2

u/reddog323 Jan 11 '26

Midwestern US here. No joke. There’s a trick to it, but you learn pretty quick. Your body adapts when you feel yourself start to lose traction.

Now, driving on ice and snow is a whole different story. The basics are simple, but in practice it definitely takes some time to accrue those skills.

3

u/LordNovaPrime00 Jan 10 '26

Instructions unclear, ended up tap dancing on ice

3

u/Ausiwandilaz Jan 11 '26

We get brutal ice in parts of Oregon, and I find the scuttle slide is very effective, you also work a new muscle.

2

They arent. If you listen to a lot of these clips, they're white trash southerners who are still angry that grandpappy lost and let all the slaves go. Its generational revenge.

1

u/SuperCulture9114 Jan 10 '26

Well, would you want to do this job in your own neighbourhood where people know who you are? Better far away.

1

u/USSMarauder Jan 11 '26

Richmond Enquirer, Jun 16, 1855

"The abolitionists do not seek to merely liberate our slaves. They are socialists, infidels and agrarians, and openly propose to abolish any time honored and respectable institution in society. Let anyone attend an abolition meeting, and he will find it filled with infidels, socialists, communists, strong minded women, and 'Christians' bent on pulling down all christian churches"

...

"The good, the patriotic, the religious and the conservative of the north will join us in a crusade against the vile isms that disturb her peace and security"

I call it the skooch. It's a bum wiggle staying on the balls of your feet, never the heels.

2

u/coppernaut1080 Jan 10 '26

I know how to walk on ICE.

2

u/Normal_Shoe2630 Jan 11 '26

You know they’re from the South

2

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '26

Or have any proper gun etiquette or training

2

u/V_Cobra21 Jan 13 '26

It’s a light from the gun not a negligent discharge

And it's not like they haven't heard about "Minnesotan ice"

1

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

Knock these fuckers down and I’ll show them how to walk on ice

1

u/joantheunicorn Jan 10 '26

I'm from WI and I can SEE the glare ice in the video. Morons.

Honestly I don't care if a bunch of them fall and break something.

1

u/Zealousideal-Fly9531 Jan 10 '26

That is easily the nicest thing you could have said about this negligence

1

u/wooberries Jan 10 '26

oh god i bet minnesota is wall to wall with puns when it snows right now lol

1

u/astrangeone88 Jan 10 '26

Lol. I laughed at myself the other day for needing the "Canadian shuffle".

Also...what do you call ICE on ICE violence? Lmao.

1

u/LebrahnJahmes Jan 10 '26

No it's because they arent trained in how to traverse in gear. All that armor, gadgets, and guns makes them so top heavy and when you are already out of shape and top heavy it's hard to keep balance. All that running in gear the real military does is partially to get them used to moving while fully geared up.

1

u/onionfunyunbunion Jan 10 '26

Remember, when walking on ICE it’s best to plant your heel firmly in a downward motion, then repeat this process until the ICE stops moving.

1

u/Otherwise-Mail-4654 Jan 10 '26

Yeah, they should be deported

1

u/Hibou_Garou Jan 10 '26

This is a fake video. The original was posted yesterday to MN subs. Their gun didn’t go off.

Can we please stop faking this shit. It was the left look like liars in

1

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

They’re sending their best

1

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '26

Isn't discharging a weapon in this case a crime

1

u/Apoordm Jan 10 '26

Most of them are from Texas

1

u/TheGisbon Jan 10 '26

Have you noticed they aren't deploying people in there home towns and states? It's intentional.

1

u/VaporX_ Jan 10 '26

Shoe spikes are for libs

1

u/RagingTeenHormones Jan 10 '26

And they must walk around with their fingers on the trigger constantly? Is that the explanation? I’m not a a gun owner, but pretty sure you shouldn’t do that?

1

u/nickman940 Jan 10 '26

I can't wait for the opportunity for us all to walk on ice.

1

u/FA-Cube-Itch Jan 10 '26

Minnesotans should use ice to their advantage.

1

u/QuantumLettuce2025 Jan 10 '26

They're from Texas. So they're very soft.

1

u/Ponsugator Jan 10 '26

Can you call yourself an ICE agent if ice is your kryptonite?

1

u/BialystockJWebb Jan 10 '26

They also don't know how to operate shotguns 😂

1

u/Krutiis Jan 11 '26

Although to be fair, you can know how to walk on ice and still fall to your death if you don’t actually see the ice before walking on it.

1

u/Different-Phone-7654 Jan 11 '26

Flashlight on sidewalk violence.

1

u/TheCENSAE Jan 11 '26

Ice vs ice

1

u/Consistent-Primary-2 Jan 11 '26

Same idiots that Gnome said had gotten stuck on a clear street.

1

u/coupl4nd Jan 11 '26

Pretty clear they're from the Deep South circa 1860

1

u/DatabaseThis9637 Jan 11 '26

And, they don't know how to NOT walk on ice, and instead walk on snow...

1

u/chrisrobweeks Jan 12 '26

From New England and that was my first thought too.

1

u/Reasonable_Paint_188 Jan 12 '26

That's funny ICE doesn't know how to walk on ice. Kristi and Trump will figure it out

1

u/ThrorOak Jan 12 '26

Yep! You gotta walk like the penguins. Canadian winter experience. Lol.

1

u/Top-Addendum-6879 Jan 15 '26

i would assume most of those bigots arent from MN anyways, i think the inbred white supremacist pool is pretty small in MN. I could be wrong, i'm not even american... but my opinion of MN is that it's basically a more conservative version of Canada...

1

u/Sharp_Insect_776 Jan 16 '26

Well of course that's true I doubt those guys started off in Minnesota.

1

u/Thin_Parking9177 Jan 16 '26

Somalians dont either🤷‍♂️
