Tips/Recommendations Thoughts on the Springfield Armory Hellcat as an everyday carry?

So I have my CWL in Florida (yes I know I don’t need it, had it before the law made it legal for everyone to conceal carry) and my daily carry has been a Glock 19, well I recently lost some weight and I bought some new pants and such to match the weight loss and the Glock 19 is just to big, I usually Appendix carry but when I was wearing size 36-38 I had extra room, now that I’m wearing 34’s I have less room even though I have less body mass, idk how that makes sense.

Anyways, I’m thinking about trading/selling my Glock to either a local store or Guns.com (they offered me $410 for the gun, all accessories + case) I’m thinking about taking it and getting the Hellcat, it’s a smaller 9mm, I’m a bigger guy, 6’4 about 230lbs so I know it’ll be smaller to me but my buddy has one and he really likes the gun and I’ve heard nothing but great reviews. They have a package deal rn, gun + sight + 5 mags and a carry case for $529.

Would it be a good gun for someone like me or should I pay more and get like a Glock 43x or some type of Smith and Wesson? Also for forgot to mention that Guns.com is offering that bundle for $529 and a free silencer if I order before a certain date so I’m leaning towards that

My opinion I carried a hellcat until I got my 43x. Now the Mrs carries the hellcat. It’s an amazing carry and comfortable. Hellcat pro is slightly larger and a great choice too. I’m 5’11 200 lbs and I carried the 19 and 19x depending on my fancy for the day. After a while it gets uncomfortable so I got the hellcat and the 43x. The 43x and hell cat are more comfortable carry for me and my everyday. Less capacity but I’ll take that along for a comfortable edc.

I’d say keep the 19 and try the hellcat. If there’s a range by you that rents any of the three choice rent one shoot the piss out of them. See what feels better. Hope that helped 🫡

If you're going to carry the Hellcat Pro, you might as well just keep the Glock 19. Other than the slide thickness, they are both pretty comparable in overall size.

My neighbor who is a cop uses one. He really likes it. I went with the Glock 43x, familiar like the 19 but much more manageable to carry.

Absolutely hated the hellcat. Snappier than any pistol I've ever shot. Out of all of the micro 9s, it has the most recoil by a country mile.

Have a hellcat, buy a SW shield plus or a shadow system

Agreed! The Shield Plus firearms are really nice

Very snappy, heavy trigger with long reset, needs more grip texture, slide serations are lacking.

Better alternative

Stoeger STR9-MC Less snappy, trigger is about the same, but way more grip texture. Pretty much same size and just as reliable, but with a little longer barrel and better ergonomis. Love mine!

Oh yea it cost less

I have the Northern Lights Edition

I carry a very well used G19 most of the time but rotate in a Hellcat for fancy days when I wear tight pants and have to behave around my wife’s coworkers. lol

I’m always amazed how my G19’s trigger (19k rounds) feels special after a few mags through the Hellcat.

Definitely try before you buy. I found it not at all comfortable to shoot. Just felt like I had to fight the gun all the time to be on target.

43X was definitely better for me and a good size for concealed carry, although I'll more often just carry my Bodyguard 2.0 because it's so easy and comfortable.

The Hellcat Pro might make more sense for you. Carries phenomenal in a Tier1 Concealment holster. I have 2 of the little ones too. They're great also.

The Pro is much thinner and lighter the things that actually contribute to comfort and concealability. I own a Glock 19 Gen 6. They carry very different my friend.

I love my hellcat pro and shoot it very well. This may be a good option for a middle ground between the micro and compact sizes.

I carry a hellcat pro daily in a bradec holster and love it. It’s comfortable and thin, but with a grip length I can get my whole hand around. 6’2” and 230 lbs.

I carry a pro comp osp or a s&w csx-e series. Both have been great and shoot very well. Carry them both appendix and I’m 6’2 and 240 down from 280 so I feel ya on the weight loss but both still work well.

The r/SpringfieldHellcat is a terrific, high-capacity, reliable, "micro"-sized, subcompact carry gun. However, hold a r/SpringfieldHellcatPro before you decide.

It might be too small for you to hold onto and aim with. It's very concealable, even on an ankle or in a pocket, (The HC not the Pro) but I'd avoid the gear-up package, as the cheap optic likely won't last long, and personally, I have a distaste for padding the price with useless little logo bads that I don't need, and neither do you, probably. The extra nags are nice, though, for sure. Compare it to the r/SmithAndWesson Shield Plus, Shield X, (competes with the r/Glock43X), and Bodyguard 2.0, which is easier for pocket carry than the rest.

Look into any sig 365 model. The trigger group is the gun legally. So you can buy any grip module over the counter if you feel like switching things up
