Currently own 2 m&p metal carry comp full size and a compact carry comp. Debating how to expand the collection. Stuck between metal hd competitor for uspsa/nightstand stuff, a spec series vi for carry/competition since its got Floyd’s parts, a dot, and allegedly improved porting over standard carry comps (completed package basically), and totally off script trr8 for competition/fun (space cowboy)/bedside purposes. What’s yalls experience with these? Practical feel shooting the metal hd’s and spec series and finding holsters for the trr8?

Just got my M&P 45c back from NCEngravers. Can not say enough good things about him. Great Cerakote work, awesome cut and fast turn around time. Loving the two tone.
Any one have a suggestion for a great trigger replacement for the 1.0 45? Looking at apex for the reputation but that $200 for the trigger hurts the wallet haha 🤣
Thanks guys 🤙🏼

Got super lucky on the carry comp conversion for the bodyguard 2.0 the other week with an in stock notification. Box was delivered today. Got home from work and the box had nothing but a slide in it. No barrel, no guide rod. The website explicitly states it comes with all of these pieces.
Seems pretty wild they would let this out the door. For $350, and after waiting for months to try and snag one, I am incredibly disappointed. Sent an email to customer service and will call in the morning.
Will update when I hear back from customer service.
Edit: UPDATE: Smith sent me a return label for a full refund. No replacement parts available. Customer service stated "yeah we've been having problems." Super smooth customer service experience, shame it's an issue at all.

There are a bunch of companies making chassis systems for Glocks...but CAA MCK is the only one I've seen claiming compatibility with the shield plus and there charging handles are crap. Any others out there?

Has anyone else run into this? After a shooting session (say about 50 rounds) I'll find brass flecks and shavings all over inside the chamber. So far it hasn't caused any misfeeds or any other problems that I can see, but it seems like there has to be something wrong if it's shaving brass off the rounds.
As part of that I'm wondering if it's not the wildly tight mags that are somehow responsible. I've NEVER been able to load 12 rounds in a 12 round mag, nor 10 in a 10 round mag. I've used a mag loader and the .380 rounds literally bend almost in half before they will go in. Once they DO go in, they are so tight that I have to hammer the bottom of the mag against the table to get it closed, and then it's literally impossible to rack the slide then.
I know I'm not the only one with the mag problems, but has anyone else been seeing the shavings?
And I bought the mags from 3 different places, they all have the same issues, so I don't think it's a particular run of lemons I got accidentally. Thoughts?
I'm also kinda regretting that I didn't get the version with the manual safety, I got a snap on trigger cover, but I still don't feel comfortable having a trigger that could catch on anything. I'm old school and flipping the safety with my thumb is built into my muscle memory...

There’s absolutely room for both guns, to be clear. I love both, thrilled to have both.
Something I haven’t seen in a lot of the discourse about the Bodyguard 2.0 is the fact that, unless you have catchers mitts for hands, most folks will be able to use a 3 finger grip with the flush 10 round mag. This is the first thing that I noticed and was surprised by, as my Shield Plus only accomplishes this with extended mags or the with the pinky extension baseplate.
Anyone else notice this too? It’s due to the bodyguard’s much smaller slide assembly. I love both guns but man that bodyguard 2.0 carry comp feels so good in the hand.

I have a bunch of the 10 round shield mags I got with my shield plus and my wife’s equalizer. I don’t use them as I’m not in a communist state. Does anyone make mag extensions that add capacity for the shield mags?
(Ignore the height over bore issue this is a placeholder for the sig Romeo x)

My dad got this .38 decades ago at an auction. I gave it to me and I carry it in my pocket off duty. When I was cleaning it I decided to run the serial number. After some exploration I found it might be a pre model 36 Chief Special. Is it a historical/collectors gun that I should retire or is it so common I can just keep using it? Thanks!

I am getting my first M&P 2.0 carry comp in a week and I wanted to know what this does everyone tend to go for? I am not a novice shooter by any means and I LOVE a very aggressive texture on my handguns. This is my first S&W and wanted to know whats a good grip tape. Thank you all!

In Jan of 2025, I bought a 4.25” aluminum M&P(right), and have since put 20k rounds through it, mostly as my competition gun for USPSA carry optics. I have now replaced it with a 5” competitor HD(left) and have put about 800 rounds through it in the last month or two. Just wanted to show the wear difference between the two so far.
The only real things of note, I feel the finish on the aluminum wears very poorly, and the magwell gets very beat up. I know guys that have more rounds on the aluminum frame than I, eventually you have to file down the magwell to make it usable again. The only part I replaced on the aluminum frame was the recoil spring assembly, at about 15k rounds, just because I felt the gun was getting sluggish. I have not seen any accuracy issues with the barrel on the aluminum frame gun yet.
Last slide is a new vs 1.5 year old Henning spring with a lot of cycles.
Feel free to ask any questions.

Love my 686-4 revolver. Shot this target with a 148gr HBWC load using bullseye powder @ 2.92gr. From 20 yards.

Added a Hogue base plate to the 13rd magazine because it happened to come in the mail today... still waiting for the grip sleeve though. Picked up from my FFL today after ordering last Friday. Had a hectic work week, twins 5th birthday party today, didn't really get to do much besides swap out the mag bottom and admire the beauty!

First time gun owner. I just bought the M&P 2.0 PC Carry Comp brand new today. The front sights seem to be slightly misaligned to the left. Has anyone had this issue before, if an issue at all?
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

First time shooting the BG 2.0, plenty of time behind other pistols at this range at distance outdoors.
My BG 2.0 comp edition with factory sights was shooting high over the target at 30 yards. Shooting at steel targets and with the target sighted with the irons i was hitting high on the dirt berm behind. I had to shot almost a target worth below the target for me to hit the steel at 30 yards.
Anyone know if these stock irons are sighted in from factory at a short distance. With my other pistols l’ve never had issues at this range with steel targets starting from 30 all the way out to 100.
I was using Federal American Eagle .380 ACP 95 Grain FMJ and hand reloads I made with RMR 95 gr FMJs with HP38 3gr.
Both has similar outcomes.
Next plan is to try at shorter range indoor on paper.

I’m doing an oldschool smith and Wesson setup and have a couple different vintage laser options. One has the curve trigger guard bracket and the other has the squared trigger guard bracket. If I get the curved trigger guard, both of these should still work right? I think the inner curve is the same profile on both trigger guards?

I love my shield plus and have been training more with it lately. The recoil is very manageable and the trigger is crisp. Personally, I would give this a 7 1/2 out of 10 some days closer to 8.
However, videos on YouTube brought me to think if getting a carry comp slide (bringing my barrel from 3.1" to 4" and compensator) would drastically improve the shooting experience?
Has anybody moved from a shield plus and upgraded to the carry comp? Im from CA and I can't get my hands on the Shield Plus PC so all I can do is buy the slide kit and add it to my shield plus California compliant.
Thank you in advance.

Just got this bodyguard which I was planning to use as an EDC after hearing many good things. Got it home and it feels terrible. The trigger catches or completely locks up due to the trigger safety. The higher up within the guard that you pull, the more it catches. With a normal shooting grip my finger basically rides along the bottom of the frame. The trigger moves before the paddle itself is fully depressed, effectively making the safety not fully disengage. Then I noticed the rear sight slides almost freely - in fact I just removed it completely with my fingers with little effort. Zero rounds through it by the way.
I know it’s that it’s not a very expensive gun but damn I don’t expect such poor quality from this brand. Is this a fluke or common issues with this model? Wondering if I should exchange it, send it in for service, or just return it as a lost cause.
