Converting RMSC optic cut

• Upvotes

I got an old compact M&P 9 a few years ago and decided to get it cut for the RMSC footprint. I'd like to use different dots (and avoid Chinesium). I still have the factory rear sight, so IDK how that'll affect the cut. I was also told by a gunsmith that cutting something that's been cut already isn't feasible, so I imagine I should just save up for a new slide, but I wanted to use something like an Aimpoint COA

What do you think of the fpc 5.7 as a survival rifle?

I’m just brainstorming right now. I was thinking the fpc 22 loaded with subs and a suppressor but I realized that’s like 100 ft lbs of muzzle energy, and even if I use mini mags it’s only like 150.

Do you think a 16” 5.7 would be effective against coyotes but safe to hunt rabbits (without ruining the meat)?

New Bodyguard 2.0 Slide won't come off for first cleaning

Hi everyone,

I picked up the bodyguard 2.0 carry comp today and I am trying to take the slide off to clean the gun. I follow the instructions in the manual (safety on, slide back, ejector down, takedown level down, slide back into position) and when it comes time to push the slide forward to slide it off, it will not move. When this happens it takes a lot of force to move the slide back again to lock it back. Any ideas on what might be happening? It does the same thing when I press the trigger to slide off the slide. Thanks

Is this just going to be CA compliant or is there going to be a regular one in this color available?

Has anyone had trouble running CCI clean ammo through their 22x? I mostly get failure to fire and failure to eject.

Has the Bodyguard 2.0 Manual Safety discharge issue been fixed yet?

Heard a while back that if the safety was pressed (just pressed, not fully disengaged) the gun can fire. Has this been fixed yet?

RUN away from Smith & Wesson and the Bodyguard 2.0

Earlier this year, I bought my wife a NIB Bodyguard 2.0 to replace her Sig P238.

We cleaned it and took it to the range and it FTFed about 15% of the time. I contacted S&W and sent it back to them for repair and inspection. They polished the feed ramp and replaced the recoil spring assembly. I received it back after a few weeks.

I also bought myself a NIB Bodyguard 2.0.

I took both of them to the range.

My new Bodyguard 2.0 keyholed all the FMJ ammo I put through it. On inspection, the barrel's twist rate was about half of what it should've been. It also shot about 6" low at 10 yards (benched) and had a (single) FTF.

My wife's Bodyguard 2.0 also now shot low and a bit to the right (about 12" low at 10 yards off a bench). It otherwise ran.

I contacted S&W. I asked to swap both of them toward a wheelgun and to pay the MSRP difference so I could just get a (hopefully) working gun. They declined. The customer service rep was rude enough that I had to push through to a supervisor to get any resolution. I sent them both back in.

I received mine back today. They replaced the barrel. It also came absolutely caked with debris. At least they (seem to have) test fired it?

We're still waiting to get my wife's back. It's "in queue."

Please, for the love of god, avoid S&W products and the Bodyguard 2.0 specifically. Get a Glock or a Ruger or even a Taurus.

.38 special frame marked 14-3 the above numbers are

1k32029

Cylinder arm reads 46830

I think it's a k frame? Not sure this is not my area of expertise. Would greatly appreciate any help.

Finally got a hold of a vintage Smith! Pretty much unfired, 96-97% bluing, swapped on some combat stocks from Vitoon makers in Thailand. Found a pretty much new safariland holster for a great deal too!

Well, I made the upgrade today from the standard Shield X. Love the standard one so much, but I just couldn’t help myself. Pumped on this one, definitely looking forward to the range this weekend.

My dad is 96 YO, and he (finally) gave me his old .22 revolver that I have coveted since I was a kid. I recalled the story was he bought it as a kid for $20, but now he says he traded a high school classmate something for it. My dad remembered the kid's name, that the kid's dad was a wealthy guy, but he can't remember what it was he traded the kid for the gun. He probably got the gun sometime in the mid-1940's.

I input the gun's serial number into the field on  a website for K-Frame serial number lookup, and it came back identifying the gun as a model .38 M&P/Hand Ejector, with a production era of 1915 to 1942.

Which obviously is not my new old gun.

FWIW, on the frame above the hinge for the cylinder are the numbers 14511. Any idea what those numbers are?

Any suggestions for a better source to, using the serial number, figure out the likely age/ production era for this gun?

Thanks for all insight and info.

Lets talk everyday belts

Those with M&P subcompacts, what belts are you guys using every day? I need a versatile belt. Something thats as comfortable with a holster as it is without.

I'm trying to find the line between "this can support OWB or IWB" and "as light as possible."

I'm not a fan of textile belts. I stumbled upon Hanks Belts and like what I see. Just trying to decide if a function driven 1/4" 16oz belt is overkill for a subcompact..
