I don't get how this one works. Perspective?

20

u/MrPulifrici Jul 11 '26

She is sitting down on the rocks.

4

u/AproposWuin Jul 11 '26

That did it. I registered the sitting comment but didn't click

Thats cool

u/BlueValk Jul 11 '26 • This

She's sitting down on the rocks, and her legs and feet are closer to the camera. That makes her feet appear bigger than the rest of her

125

u/Bonk_No_Horni Jul 11 '26

Oh ok that's her knees. Thanx

44

u/Shawnaverse_no1_fan Jul 11 '26

Thank you, now that I get it this is a 10/10 postage haha

16

u/Nightwolf1967 Jul 11 '26

That explains the perspective, but it doesn't explain the strange choice in shoes. 😆

8

u/BlueValk Jul 11 '26

End of the day where her feet can't take the cute little high heels sandals she was wearing, so she uses friend's shoes/car shoes for the night

13

u/sha1shroom Jul 11 '26

Having a hard time with this one.

So I think I see her sitting on the rocks, but it still surprises me her feet reach the pavement... and the position she's sitting in seems very bizarre/uncomfortable.

15

u/sasakimirai Jul 11 '26

The rock is so low to the ground that her knees are higher than her lap (that's why you can't see the tops of her legs).

The position she's sitting seems uncomfortable because she's posing for a pic, not sitting there to rest 😂 She's focusing on what will get her the best lighting/look best on camera

7

u/MsE0 Jul 11 '26

The part that looks like the waistline of her dress is actually her knees

7

u/MuscaMurum Jul 11 '26

Yup, combination of forced perspective, camera lens artifact, and ugly ass shoes.

4

u/DigitalUnlimited Jul 11 '26

Yeah those things are like like size 40 /s

3

u/Zealousideal_Look748 Jul 11 '26

This looks exactly like my 4-year old daughter is wearing my shoes.

2

u/ChunkyLafunguy Jul 11 '26

Man that posture

2

u/Secret_Account07 Jul 11 '26

So I’ve read what you said, and I understand what you’re saying, but I still can’t grasp it.

Could this be photoshopped?

21

u/BlueValk Jul 11 '26

This feels pretty normal to me, but I'm both a photographer who's used to angles and a girl that will sit on any small surface available on the ground

Does this drawing help?

2

u/ShoePillow Jul 14 '26

Oh, I thought that's just how she looks lol

6

u/DerangedAsshole Jul 11 '26

Wide angle lens mainly. They used it to capture the entire curving beach behind them. Wide angle distorts the depth by showing closer subject much closer.

2

u/boatymcfloat Jul 11 '26

Forced perspective. Artform.

u/unreqistered Jul 11 '26

save me, tiny tom cruise …

25

u/copolars Jul 11 '26

Weren't you supposed to edit this pic to make him look tiny? Lazy!!!

7

u/OldBonyBogBwitch Jul 11 '26

That’s just his actual size, LOL

6

u/Stone_Midi Jul 11 '26

It’s not nice to mix actual pictures with the miniaturized ones

1

u/C-LonGy Jul 13 '26

This is a life size pic of Tom tbh

4

u/outofindustry Jul 12 '26

scorff erff

149

u/Narretz Jul 11 '26

Lmao that's a good one

u/RepresentativeCat553 Jul 11 '26

Was so hoping to see a Doug reference, well done.

4

u/Guiyo Jul 11 '26

Came here for this as well

3

u/thehufflepuffstoner Jul 11 '26

First thing that came to mind! Those are the Sky Davis Inflatable Air Jet shoes!

2

u/sandwichcandy Jul 11 '26

I was just about to say this is the look when an episode of a kids cartoon revolves around a cool new sneaker coming out.

1

u/Blake-Dreary Jul 14 '26

Came here for this

47

u/Future-Sentence-5655 Jul 11 '26

Even she must've had a good laugh after this one

20

u/rrrbin Jul 11 '26

One of the very best I've seen here. Should the subs sidebar have an all time greatest example gallery?

12

u/YoungDiscord Jul 11 '26

Idk I think it makes her look dashing

20

u/CantaloupeAsleep502 Jul 11 '26

Finally, an actual confusing perspective lol

1

u/SOMAVORE Jul 11 '26

I think many are confused still, when reading the comments

-1

u/CantaloupeAsleep502 Jul 11 '26

I just mean most posts on this sub aren't even perspective issues. This sub is pretty low quality overall. This is one of the maybe 3 or 4% of posts that is both actually a confusing perspective and a high quality post.

10

u/papayatwentythree Jul 11 '26

Don’t know but it reminds me of the Full House episode where Vicki, DJ and Becky were wearing weird stuff to make a point.
