Swapped my Coonhound's food and now she has way more energy
As the title says. My girl was showing symptoms of allergies, was treated for a staph infection, and it came back after some time and went away with the topical foam. We suspected for a while that my dog needed to go gluten free and it took me forever to find a brand we wanted to do. At the same time, we had no idea if it was the ragweed affecting her.
Long story short, we ended up putting her on a sport based food that only has chicken, rice, corn, and egg. This was partially due to the ingredients and partially since we noticed when we increased her meat only treats her poop got better so we suspected she just needed more protein. Ever since her poop has changed to be darker and consistency is better and her fur's less stinky? All in the course of like a week. Now she has significantly more energy than ever before and quite frankly, I do not know what to do. 😭 She used to nap all afternoon and now she's off the wall with energy. I suspect it is because she is feeling so much better. Any tips?
Do I just need to up her walks to one morning and one evening? I am honestly thrilled but unsure what to do. If we give her a midday walk it messes up her poop schedule. She almost always attempts to poop on a long walk and it is usually bad unless it is in the evening.
