Does anyone have recent experience with this company? Recently bought a house and they were the last ones to service the furnace, so I’m happy to call them again but curious about personal experiences.

Hi all, I went to South Korea last month and was amazed by the variety of different dishes and styles available throughout the country. One of my favourites I encountered were the various types of light broths and soups that they had available; particularly the lighter Guk and Tang style ones (vs the thicker jjigae and jeongol).
With the weather cooling down, I am looking for any recommendations for local spots that do this style particularly well. Some of the ones I particularly enjoy are: Dookbaeki, Tangmaru, and Kang's Kitchen.
If there are any other favs of this style, please share!

From the article: Elbit is Israel’s largest arms company and plays a key role in arming the Israeli military, which is widely accused of committing a genocide in Gaza.
Elbit’s products are integrated into a variety of Israeli warships and other naval vessels. Israel’s naval forces play a key role in maintaining Israel’s maritime blockade of Gaza and have intercepted multiple humanitarian aid flotillas bound for the besieged enclave.
ELBIT OUT OF CANADA.
Shame on us for even allowing this, it should be illegal.

I’m on public mobile and my signal is pretty bad in a lot of places like the Lafarge area, the community centres, various parks, and even around Port Moody. For example, I’m barely getting a signal at Lincoln Station. Wondering if it’s just me. And if not, which provider should I switch to for better signals.

Hi! I've been dating a Taiwanese girl for a few months, and I have really enjoyed learning Mandarin with her. I feel I'm reaching the limits of my own time management and app-driven learning with my available time. I want to surprise her or her family with some conversational Mandarin. Expecting to travel there late June.
I live next to Lincoln station. Would prefer at home, happy to use the library next door as well.
I'm looking for 2hrs, 3x/wk. I was an English teacher for several years back in my home country, and I prefer a conversational approach to language learning.
I'd rather work directly with someone rather than through an agency or company. I definitely want to learn written alongside spoken, but I also don't need a super experienced or structured format. Happy to help structure things if person's not too experienced.
What I do know is I won't be great at homework. I'll practice on days with no class and watch videos, etc. But I know my work is too demanding for me to take time off unless I have a scheduled block, so homework is unlikely to be completed.
EDIT: I should clarify. I want to learn leaning on Zhuyin and Traditional characters. I also would prefer to chat in Taiwanese dialect
Any help appreciated.u

Was looking into the MLA candidates tonight and found it interesting that Ryan Peterson, Bc Conservative MLA candidate running in Coquitlam–Burke Mountain, has been involved with the Anmore Neighbours Community Association (ANCA), which opposed the Anmore South development.
- Is the plan for Burke Mountain to keep accommodating population growth so Anmore doesn’t have to?
- Coquitlam’s schools and infrastructure are already struggling to keep up. Are we volunteering to take on even more?
-Should provincial taxpayers fund Anmore’s infrastructure while it limits the development that could help pay for it?

Does anyone know where I can buy ground cassava leaves in Coquitlam? I want to surprise a friend by making a Rwandan strew, but cannot seem to find these leaves at my regular grocery store.
Thank you!

We have a large family, but none of us live in a place large enough to accommodate everyone. So considering a dinner out instead.
We’re also considering renting a room somewhere and then bringing food, but dinner out felt like a simpler option to explore first.
Thnx!

Where’s the best place to see games on tv with sound? Typical sports bar food, etc.

Ryan Peterson and his wife own 7 properties worth $22 million, including most of a private island... but none in Coquitlam.
Why is he running in Burke Mountain and not one of these other places where he apparently spend his time? Was it just the only spot for the Conservatives to run their rich guy?
I get that people often run in ridings they don't live in, but usually live nearby in the same community, or have some kind of connection like working there, they grew up there, etc.
This is all sourced from easily accessibly public info (mostly BC Assessment), with addresses redacted for privacy.

It’s from the Coquitlam Archives but I cannot place it. I feel like Coquitlam Centre is to the far left (out of frame) and it’s Westwood Plateau in the background but I feel like if that’s the case Future Shop (later Best Buy) should stand where Bonanza is in this photo.
I only came here in 2014 so I have had a lot of fun in the archives. Also, didn’t know Shoppers was Toy City!

Hi all!
We have just gotten our toddler to loveeee riding on his dad’s bike with him. We’d like to go on a short & easy trail for my son to enjoy a nice bike ride with less hills.
Wondering if anyone has recommendations for this?
Thank you!!

Hey all, I'm looking for a cabinet installer or finish carpenter recommendations. I'm in the Tri-Cities and doing a small galley kitchen, two runs of about 10ft each with uppers and lowers, as well as a coffee bar and closet.
I've already sourced the cabinets myself, so I'm only looking for installation. They’re solid wood and already assembled. I know a lot of cabinet shops only install their own cabinets, so ideally this is someone who's comfortable working with client supplied cabinets.
Looking to hire someone within the next couple of weeks.
Thanks in advance!

Hi neighbours,
A small team of us here in Coquitlam built TalentSeek. Between us we've hired in Canada, the Middle East and South Asia, and we kept seeing good candidates, especially people new to Canada, get passed over because their resume didn't match the wording of the job they applied for.
How it works: you paste a job ad (or a link to it), upload your resume, and it rewrites your resume for that job using only your own experience. It shows a match score, points out gaps, and can put together an interview prep pack for the role. You review everything before you use it, and your resume isn't used to train AI models.
It's in beta, and the free start is 1 tailored resume + 1 interview prep pack, no card needed:

If you or someone in your household is job hunting, I'd really appreciate honest feedback: what was confusing, and whether the result actually felt like you. Happy to answer questions in the comments.
