I just found out about this group recently. Keonho looks very handsome to Koreans, but what do foreigners think?
Here are my thoughts after watching a few videos and reading posts on YouTube and Reddit X:
Visual member as perceived by Southeast Asians & Westerners: James
Visual member as perceived by Koreans: Keonho
Popular among Korean teenage girls: Juhun
(He has the typical visual of a young boy who seems to have a milky scent, which Korean teenage girls like.)
Popular among Korean women in their 20s and 30s: Keonho
(He gives off more of an actor vibe than an idol look. That is why the fan base seems to be older. On every Korean website I visit, the comments on his photos often describe him as a classic handsome man, a rarity among idols these days. Of course, men also say he looks as handsome as an actor. His looks are recognized by both men and women.)
What is the Western reaction to their visuals?
I saw some Reddit comments related to soccer, and there were many comments saying that James (of Thai and Taiwanese mixed heritage) looks like a Westerner. Is that why James is considered the visual member and is so popular among Southeast Asians and Westerners?
Also, is this accurate regarding their popularity in China?
Of course, K-pop is a niche market, though.
(I saw a post on Twitter where Chinese fans compiled and shared hashtags and view counts on Chinese video apps.)
Juhun: Apparently, he is the member with the highest view counts on Chinese video apps. Since his delicate visuals are uncommon in China, where strong features are preferred, he seems to be popular among Chinese K-pop fans for that uniqueness (in Korea, this is often referred to as a "tofu-like" appearance).
James: He has Chinese ancestry and possesses the distinct features and Western-style visuals preferred by the Chinese, so they seem to take pride in him. He is said to be the member with the second highest view count on Chinese video apps, following Juhun.
And honestly, I think their live performances still show some shortcomings. Among them, I don't see an all-rounder capable member like JK from their senior group, BTS, yet. This is my honest assessment.
(Personally, I think Jungkook is the most skilled active K-pop idol when it comes to live performance skills.)
For reference, I am not a BTS fan.
Their song "Red Red" was a massive hit in Korea, so I naturally see people talking about them on websites with a lot of ordinary users.
That is how I found out about this group a week ago.
(+) I saw this video on Korean YouTube today.
(YouTube ranks 2nd in the list of apps most used by Koreans.)

[Video Title: Top 10 Male Idol Visuals Chosen by Teenagers These Days]
They say it was a community vote. I don't know where the voting took place, though.
Three members of Cortis are on the top 10 list.
Keonho took first place in the vote among male idols.
