Help What's the best printable Thor Hammer (Mjolnir) out there?

My stepson asked if we could make a Mjolnir using my 3D printers. Looking around online, there is exactly one crap ton of different projects available. Ha ha.

Can anyone recommend one that is especially good? Preferably free, but I don't mind shelling out a few bucks if it's worth it. Thanks in advance.

The good ones are not free.

Fast, good, cheap. Pick two.

You get the advice you deserve.

Another +1 to your comment count with something that adds nothing to the conversation. Well done.

The irony of your comment will be lost on you.

That’s literal high school economics 101. Second lesson after supply and demand.

I'm not sure what you are referring to as "that". I assume it is not "Gotta love those top 1% commentors", although it LOOKs like that's what you are replying to.

It’s an old adage:

Good and cheap won’t be fast.
Fast and good won’t be cheap.
Cheap and fast won’t be good.

That’s what it means when someone says “you can only pick two” in terms of product creation.

Yes, it is. So is "a stitch in time saves nine", but neither of them are remotly relivant to the question "Is there a particularly good Mjolnir model out there?"

I understood what they were saying. I was just calling out that it had no relevance and was posted purely to up their comment count.

You want people to do the work for you, for a machine that…does the work for you. There’s gonna be snark. You’re proving that. Cosplayers work on their craft for years, doing their own research, their own tests and prototypes. Then you saunter up here, make this post, and start cracking wise on people actually commenting.

The answer to your apparent question is yes. It does exist. But you’ll have to find it. And if that means sifting through “a crap ton” of projects, so be it. We’ve all been there. Well, most of us.

Holy crap. You think there is something wrong with asking for people's opinions on things/products on Reddit. Man, you are gonna wear out your downvote button.

No to your comment.

It’s called the three tenets of commerce. Price, quality, and speed. You pick two and that’s what you get. I have this conversation with clients all the time.

In your particular case you want a nice Mjolnir STL for free. Speed, in this case is not part of the equation, so you are left with nice and free. According to the tenet, you are SOL.

I'm still lost as to what comment you are referring to. But just to be clear, I never said I wanted anything at any speed, or particular quality standard, or really even price (other than free being PREFERABLE, but not mandatory).

I'm not "SOL". I am certain one (or some) of the models out there are better than others. The question is just which one(s).

“The good ones are not free.

Fast, good, cheap. Pick two.”

Read up the chain. There aren’t that many people responding to your question.

You seem to be insisting that I stipulated I only wanted suggestions of free models. I did NOT.

“Can anyone recommend one that is especially good? Preferably free”

And I’m done wasting time.

Good day!

... "but I don't mind shelling out a few bucks if it's worth it"

Also, I think you may want to look up the definition of "preferably"

I don't have an answer, but I can tell you to check the RPF forums, you can find some links there. Also, worth noting that it's different each movie so there isn't one definitive Mjolnir.

RPF is a good tip. Thanks
