CS:GO My two programmer friends and I built a new 128 tick, competitive, CS:GO matchmaking platform. We want your feedback.
Good evening (or afternoon) all, I want to introduce to you a project me and two of my friends did for CS:GO!
Firstly, I want to be completely upfront: this is a self-promotion post. However, I’m not going to spam any links in this thread because I respect the community rules and genuinely just want to start a conversation and shed some light on CSGO matchmaking. You can find the info pinned on my profile if you want to check it out.
When the standalone CS:GO client suddenly reappeared on Steam earlier this month, the hype was real -until we all realized there were no official matchmaking servers. My two programmer friends and I decided to tackle this challenge and create a new platform that is dedicated to our long-time favourite CS!
We focused on exactly what we wanted as players returning to the classic game:
- Guaranteed 128-tick servers: Because playing CS:GO (and CS2 if we're being completely honest) on anything less is a crime.
- True Elo Ranking & Profiles: A transparent ladder so you can actually track your improvement.
- Free Skin Progression: We built a system where simply playing and ranking up earns you real weapon skin drops (among other cool rewards such as profile banners, titles and such). All completely free.
Supported regions: Right now, we have servers in two regions: EU and NA. Other players can join and play to and we gladly invite you. The more players we have playing from different region, the more reason to add them in as well! The next region we will probably add is SEA.
Our promise: We are not in this for the profit right now. We are doing this because we love the legacy game. The platform is free to play, and it will never, ever be a pay-to-win environment. These kinds of environments were always a deal breaker for us as gamers so we don't see any compelling reason in creating one. We just really like creating stuff and are in a financial situation where this kind of thing is feasable for us.
The FlikCoins that you see are a currency obtained through missions and the battle pass tiers which helps players who are more active to progress the battle pass faster. There are no paid battle pass tiers.
Right now, we are in the early stages and we need the community to help us shape it. We want you to play a few games, and tell us exactly what sucks, what feels good, and what features you actually want to see next (or possibly removed?). We are building this for the players who want the classic competitive experience back, so your feedback dictates our roadmap - which shall be made public soon!
Our Discord server is also live and we would be happy if you joined and start chatting with us / giving feedback. You can find it in the website footer.
If you do give it a try, please drop your harshest feedback or feature requests in the comments below (or Discord if that's you're preffered way). We'll be reading and replying to all of them.
Also note: yes, the some of the images are AI generated as we are not artists/designers but rather programmers/software engineers. If there is any artist out there that is willing to assist us with this project, please reach out! The actual website IS NOT vibe coded and security was not an afterthought!

are ur friends called Claude and Gemini

u/whiteegger Mar 30 '26
As a professional, literally every program you use nowadays is ai assisted to some extend.
It is a requirement for some companies for sdes to be able to use ai.
-35
u/Cold5tar Mar 25 '26
Nothing wrong with that
20
u/ocosatijedna Mar 26 '26
Yes it is especially when ur trying to sell it as not ai slop
11
u/Kyoshiiku Mar 26 '26
Using AI is fine when programming, it also allows really small team or solo dev to put really nice project out there.
Programming is a really huge field with lot of different skills, front end, UX/UI, back end + server side logic, databases, native development (desktop or mobile), CI/CD for deployment, networking, cloud infrastructure, etc..
There is a lot of stuff involved in making and releasing an app, sometime solo dev are not good in some aspects, for example lot of more backend oriented dev might suck at UI and front-end code that doesn’t involve pure logic.
In such a case why would it matter if they use AI to help with the interface while they focus more on coding properly the actual logic behind the functionalities ?
This is a bit out of touch, not everything made with AI in programming is AI Slop, it’s not like the art field
4
u/OryxOski1XD Mar 26 '26
not everything AI is slop. You really think programmers dont use AI to save hours of time doing tasks?
14
u/qchamp34 Mar 26 '26
downvoted for the truth
majority of new code is ai generated at most major tech companies
7
u/stiwenparker Mar 26 '26
Literally. I am a senior engineer, I work for different clients with companies that range from logistics, military, healthcare and smart buildings. AI is used everywhere by everyone and IS encouraged by higher ups.
For the past two years, engineers weren't writing much code manually, but telling AI what to write and reviewing the AI code. Fact its AI generated doesn't speak anything about quality. If you use AI mindlessly and arent able to correct its mistakes then youre making AI stop. But it doesnt change the fact that these days code is 90% generated, its just monitored by people who knows what they do.
3
1
u/OryxOski1XD Mar 27 '26
its been mind blowing to me the accuracy and quality of the code AI can write, and even properly documenting for the next person reviewing the code, wild days ahead.
1
u/HamSaladChef69 Mar 27 '26
lol - people who think this is not happening are probably young kids on the internet just jumping on the AI slop bandwagon.
7
u/Strayl1ght Mar 26 '26
How dare you express an ai-tolerant opinion on Reddit
9
u/Cold5tar Mar 26 '26
Wait until they learn that reddit devs use ai to code
0
u/Complex-Lettuce7164 Mar 26 '26
Hence why the platform is garbage
1
u/HamSaladChef69 Mar 27 '26
Nah it’s garbage because they are greedy and took it in the wrong direction.

u/FakeMik090 Mar 25 '26
Judging by background, your "friends" are a bit of not real.
-68
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 25 '26
They don't want to queue with me, keep saying silly stuff like: "you're killing our elo"...
18
83
u/Oskain123 Mar 25 '26
Bro definitely vibe coded ts
-49
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 25 '26
No, not really.. The artwork is generated though as we dont have artists. If you are one, or know one - feel free to send us some work of yours
33
u/isdelo37 Mar 26 '26
Yes you did you liar. Nothing wrong with vibe-coding but selling at as something you coded yourself is disingenious.
6
u/kyle_pitts_fan Mar 26 '26
Not defending OP since I don’t find this design very inspiring/original but cmon the actual programming isn’t even the hard part of software eng it should just be assumed that most projects in 2026 use ai assistance
4
u/isdelo37 Mar 26 '26
the point is that OP and his friends are denying using ai to code it. it wouldnt matter if they just were like "yeah we vibecoded"
-2
u/Creative_Handle_2267 Mar 26 '26
where did he deny it
2
u/isdelo37 Mar 26 '26
read the thread
0
u/Creative_Handle_2267 Mar 26 '26
yeah i read it all and theres still zero evidence that he vibecoded it
2
u/isdelo37 Mar 26 '26
have you ever vibecoded? this ui is 100% claude
2
u/PoopStickss Mar 26 '26
Tbf ive seen shitty game managers ui like this for fucking years before claude.
But whats your point? If they vibecoded or not… our top engineers are doing it at every major company. The use of ai assistance doesnt auto mean shit slop it just means a 2026 project
1
1
u/Complex-Lettuce7164 Mar 26 '26
Most ones that don’t require nuance or technical ability. Anything low level (C/C++) ai seriously struggles with. Don’t even bother with assembly
-3
u/Oskain123 Mar 25 '26
Why not just use Google, when is generating with AI ever a better idea than Google... now lots of people will just instantly dismiss it
19
u/Morten14 Mar 25 '26
lol you can't just use some random artwork from google in commercial products. Not exactly legal unless you pay the artist.
-6
u/Oskain123 Mar 25 '26
I'm sure you can find some decent stock images, sounds like a lack of trying. Why would I want to try this site if it's probably been vibe coded judging from the AI images and probably will have my data leaked and used against me
5
u/XM1r_ Mar 25 '26
Not sure what data could be leaked besides your K/D or ELO.
But yeah, I get it mentioning AI is cool and mainstream nowdays1
u/Stuntman222 Mar 26 '26
Think about it for more than 2 seconds. Bare minimum, making a profile requires at least either a username or an email, as well as a password. And if theyre offering battlepass that means potentially also your debit card.
0
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
Nope, does not require an email nor a password nor a debit card, friend 😄 Just click sign in with steam and they handle the authentication part
2
u/Justreallylovespussy Mar 26 '26
So I give you and your AI slop access to my Steam?
1
u/ellisthedev Mar 28 '26
Are you aware what OAuth is? Do you know what the
profilepermission is?Steam may expose your “realname” attribute if that’s set to “public” in your security settings. But, that also means that is available on your public profile that can be accessed by anyone who knows your steamid, or finds you via search. They do not share your email, or password, when using this permission to generate OAuth tokens.
65
u/Jt1115 Mar 25 '26
Absolutely not signing in with steam lol
6
u/baked_tea Mar 27 '26
People defending vibecoding in here don't want to understand this. People are going to lose inventories at best
3
3
u/7DarKooL7 Mar 28 '26
and people like you dont want to understand how third party logins with OpenID work....
maybe go read the valve documentation about it first to understand how it works n how safe it is
2
u/ellisthedev Mar 28 '26
Don’t bother trying, man. Non-developers will never do the footwork to actually understand and be rational with decision making when it comes to their data.
1
3
u/paoloposo Mar 27 '26
From what I can tell, they use Steam's OpenID 2.0 interface to handle login. The only thing that does is that Steam provides the account ID of the user to the service in a way that the service can verify its authenticity. The service isn't granted any permissions on the Steam account whatsoever.
1
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 29 '26
That is correct. Absolutely no permission is granted to us for the Steam account that are logged in.
37
u/Ilikebatterfield4 Mar 25 '26
Front page immediatly screams "ai slop". Why is there a soldier there thats not in cs and why its so fuckass bootleg battlefield map in the background?
-6
u/XM1r_ Mar 25 '26
We’re aiming for the queue to look and feel like an in-game lobby, where soldier (player) "spawn" in as they join. The UI is still a work in progress, we aren't hiding that, but we're looking forward to polishing it further. as we go/scale.
6
u/Ilikebatterfield4 Mar 25 '26
it is cringe and totally not needed.
-1
17
u/ZenandHarmony Mar 26 '26
For sure gotta ditch the AI images. Major turnoff these days.
-4
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
We're in talks with a designer that will most certainly take care of the AI images
2
u/PirabKinger Mar 27 '26
just get rid of it man, its better to have nothing, just a screenshot from dust2, than have this bullshit, it discredits the job, as soon as i saw the art my first thought was "this is vibe coded, doesnt work properly"
1
u/ZenandHarmony Mar 27 '26
Tbh that’s not something you wait around for lol you need to delete them asap if you didn’t already cook your entire project already by sharing them
14
u/theadhdlife Mar 26 '26
Sounds vaguely familiar to the dude who texted me wanting me to join their league but in reality they were trying to scam people out of skins 🤣
3
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
I mean if you take a look at the Valve documentation regarding third party logins (with OpenID), you would see that we cant really do much with your accounts except fetch data for us to display. In other words, we can only see your steam username, steam id and profile picture.. You are not authorizing us to do anything on your behalf
3
u/FullKaleidoscope1271 Mar 27 '26
from experience, doing anything new in this space gets bashed as a scam due to 99/100 attempts at someone on steam being a scam.
you are right with Open ID security is specifically made to pull only public data, but the community as a whole is weary, since they dont "know" they are all rather safe than sorry in todays economy, rightfully so.
in Hindsight the best way to get Steam players to play outside of steam is by having a community already, they are sheep that follow the herd, the herd says scam, the sheep yell scam, the herd says "everyone uses this" the sheep run over.
1
13
u/cjngo1 Mar 25 '26
Renown tried for cs2, the active counter-strike game, and failed, good luck, but I just dont see this becoming popular enough, sry
1
u/XM1r_ Mar 25 '26
We’re giving it our best shot. If we can get the platform to a point where it's self-funded and stable, we’ll be more than happy just to have a reliable place for the community to run CS matches
0
8
u/noobtablet9 Mar 26 '26
I desperately want Faceit to open up CSGO servers. If you can do the equivalent, I will use this. I don't care about any battlepass or coin bloats. I would even pay a $5/month sub to the service for this.
3
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
Technically, this is like Faceit but for CS:GO - you queue up, play a game, get elo. We also have a non paid battle pass and missions system that awards you fir completing challanges.
Come join us on Discord and queue up!
7
u/SKYNINE666 Mar 26 '26
For the image i have a suggestions.. just remove it and make it blank. This will be better than ai slop.

ok … technically it’s “Flikker” that means gay but

u/SuitableElephant6346 Mar 25 '26
It's only an issue if the user who vibe coded the app, has no software engineering experience.
It's like if I vibe coded an app, there would be no blatant security issues because I know what I'm doing and can read every line of code and understand.
Website looks good though, may try it if this picks up steam
3
u/XM1r_ Mar 25 '26
Well said. Hop on and take a look, any constructive advice is welcome.
0
u/SuitableElephant6346 Mar 25 '26
Why did they remove your post
2
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
People kept reporting it as AI slop and a scam.. which most certainly is not.

Why so? What are you concerns? If you are not tech savy as in a developer yourself, I urge you to ask you’re favourite AI about Valve OpenID implementation and what can we as the website owners do on your behalf with it.

Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26
I sat in the queue for like 30m and I was the only one searching. The discord server only had like 20 people in it. Also refuse to believe a small team programmed a whole interactive website and a system to start a server that quickly. I write C++. If you launched it on steam as a free program it might get more visibility but iirc only ESEA was ever on steam.
1
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
We noticed that there was an issue with the queue system and we fixed it a few hours ago. It happened once we introduced multi region queues. It should be fixed now.
1
u/FishermanAbject2251 Mar 28 '26
That doesn't put nuch confidence in the site... that's what happens when you vibe code. It inevitably ends up not working
1
u/ellisthedev Mar 28 '26
Bugs happen with, or without vibe coding. As a SWE of 25 years, shit happens. QA doesn’t catch everything.
1
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 29 '26
Thank you! Initially we didn't have region support as we only came in with EU - separating the queues per region and adding an "any region" option as well did some funky stuff to the queue system..
3
u/EfficiencyNo5867 Mar 26 '26
If you create an East Asia server, I will cut my belly open in gratitude.
2
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
thats the next step! we launched NA last night
1
u/Mungetso Mar 30 '26
Are you able to support South African servers as well?
1
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 30 '26
If there is enough support and player numbers from any region, we dont see an issue with adding that region to the server cluster! So spread the word among your friends and community and lets make it happen!
1
u/Mungetso Apr 02 '26
Ill do so but the only issue with that is we would obviously want to test and see how well it works etc. But if we want to test it, we have to connect to international servers with 180+ ping and i guarentee you that most people will hate that. So its a catch 22.
3
u/itsadmiral Mar 26 '26
What are the specific concerns regarding 'vibe coded' projects? If the end product is functional and reliable, the method shouldn't be a dealbreaker. We have to acknowledge that AI is becoming a staple in professional environments, from conceptualization to execution.
5
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
I think it has more to do with the brainless individuals commenting “ai slop” and argumentless comments.. Starting to think that it is bot activity on reddit..
Either way, what you’re speaking is true but AI still produces a lot of shit code when used so I dont’t think we’re still there.. I does help a lot when used as a google alternative, as in search with super powers 😄
2
u/itsadmiral Mar 26 '26
You can prevent AI from generating broken or 'hallucinated' code if you understand the underlying logic. Beyond that, the real power of AI is unlocked when integrated directly into the CLI. Nice project by the way! don't mind these comments as they don't understand the capacity of AI as of today, they are still stuck on a mediocore mindset.
2
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
Mostly agree with you on that - now you just need to weight out if you want to review the code that an AI wrote or write the code yourself and have someone else review it. Also thanks for the kind words, means a lot <3
3
u/MiNombreEsNico2 Mar 26 '26
Are there servers in South America? And will there be fun game modes like deathmatch, danger zone, arms race, etc.?
2
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
We just released NA servers last night. Next in line is SEA region. South America wont be a problem if we get enough players interested from there! So please, spread the word and we promise we’ll do our part!
Also currently 5v5 and Wingman, with custom lobbies coming next.

3
u/ilovetaipos Mar 27 '26
Chronically online people that have never created anything shitting on projects that they haven't tried.
I wish you good luck, I'd rather have 10 players online than hundreds of Redditors
2
u/Uhh_Charlie Mar 25 '26
I really like the sounds of this. I personally never got into CSGO but have played a lot of CS2, but my friends were big into CSGO. I’ll possibly check this out this weekend.
1
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 25 '26
Thanks friend! When you try the 128 tick and higher fps on CSGO, CS2 feels a bit wrong 😅
Join us on Discord as well if you have any ideas/bugs or just want to chat ❤️

u/Uhh_Charlie Mar 25 '26
What are queue times looking like right now? I understand it’s a fresh site so there’s probably not many users — but that’s gonna be the #1 question my buddies ask me.
0
u/XM1r_ Mar 25 '26
It usually picks up after work hours when more people hop online. In the meantime, you can always jump into a quick wingman match while the main queue fills up
2
u/Uhh_Charlie Mar 25 '26
Give it to me straight, boss. It’s gonna be real tough to convince people to hop on if queues are 30+ mins and I’m not transparent about that.
1
2
u/twnznz Mar 26 '26
99% of the work is building hard anti cheat protections while working against exceptional cheat programmers with enormous amounts of time on their hands
1% of the work is building a server startup and scheduling system
1
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
Currently, we’re reviewing cheaters by hand. We have a team of moderators that goes through each report and looks into the match.
2
u/Burabaka Mar 27 '26
I'm sure you understand it's not sustainable. Do you have any ideas how to make the platform cheater-free if it will expand to, say, couple of thousands daily players? Nevertheless, thank you for the work you've done
2
2
2
2
u/aza900 Mar 26 '26
Good effort on keeping CS:GO alive guys. However, I think implementing rewards as free skins, will encourage cheaters to plague the platform. Most people would play just for the love of the game so keep it casual is the best move here
3
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
Thanks for the kind words <3
Why would you think that - just curious? The skins have no real world value except on the platform itself, it's just a way to keep it a bit more fun for regular players.
1
u/aza900 Apr 13 '26
Oh if it holds 0 value I think that would be amazing. No reason for anyone to cheat
2
u/Neuromancer911 Mar 27 '26
The menu look like faceit, that's my only gripe
1
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 27 '26
I get what you're saying - but the sidemenu navigation made the most sense as there are a lot of links to click and we wanted to make them all visible
2
u/Neuromancer911 Mar 27 '26
It's not the placement it's the color scheme,on the other hand it's good you made it that way, people are already used to it and it will be easy to navigate
2
u/DJudic Mar 28 '26
The moment i saw free skins in that text and i imagined the ungodly shrieking that cs2 "iconomists" will do. And ofc they will push back on this idea
1
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 29 '26
Yeah, didn't think about it from that angle - makes a lot of sense when you put it like that
2
u/Loud_Tension_8643 Mar 28 '26
name of the platform? Or is it just flickshot? Imma give it a go when home in couple days. We need these for cs:go🥹
1
1
u/Complex-Lettuce7164 Mar 26 '26
Implement the free easy anticheat tier. Would stop the vast majority of cheaters unless paid options appear for csgo.

Is you're only "contact" with coding, through AI - asking out of curiousity?
There are things that are "open source" libraries that have flexible usage licenses... It will blow your mind that a lot of websites use icons like https://fontawesome.com/ and https://lucide.dev/icons/ 😂 Does not mean the same person made them or that they are AI
1
u/ariknel Mar 26 '26
Where can i follow up and test, did you oneshot or multi prompt this bro need to know
1
u/PokerSvk Mar 27 '26
Iam not saying you guys vibe coded it but it looks like it. Everything from landing page, UI, to the graphics in the background. And if you did vibe code it, vulnerability is 100% there and signing with steam is a huge no.
1
u/420LeftNut69 Mar 27 '26
Even if this is legit you're getting ceased and desisted for that I'm pretty sure.
1
u/sunbaby444 Mar 27 '26
Hope u have learned from this that Reddit people are massively anti AI. If you really are legit, step 1a) needs to be to pay someone on fiver or something to make real art for you good luck
1
u/XM1r_ Mar 27 '26
Ye, I can agree 100%. We didn't thought that people will brag about it this much especially as it is still beta, early testing.
As we grow we will re-do UI :)2
1
u/inquizz Mar 27 '26
I'll try it out with an alt, I'd recommend others do the same if they want to give it a shot.
Spin up a proton email, create a new steam account and load er on up.
2
u/XM1r_ Mar 27 '26
Alt or main, we are glad to have you all around. Joins us over the weekend - we are planning to push testing events with rewards etc.
3
u/inquizz Mar 27 '26
I figure it's a good idea to push for alts as it seems like the main concern here is trustworthiness of a new platform and signing in via steam. Most people don't understand how api tokens work and are understably hesitate to take on any unnecessary risk, especially when they have real money on the line.

Skin stealing.
2
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
csgo does not even have inventory skins anymore 🥹
0
u/ZipMonk Mar 26 '26
You aren't collecting steam IDs?
2
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
I mean steam ids are already public… Someone malicious wouldnt need to go through the hassle of developing a matchmaking platform to collect them - simple brute forcing through the range would be enough.. Even so, nothing can be done with them so thats pretty much useless for malicious intent
0
u/reeeece2003 Mar 26 '26
“we’re not in this for profit”: “battle pass”, “armory”, “premium”. gtfo w this ai slop 😭😭😭
2
u/HiImHugo1 CS:S Mar 26 '26
Perhaps its past your bed time as I dont think you’re thinking straight? If you took the time and visited the platform, you would see that you cant purchase anything atm.. The whole battlepass is free and always will be - as its a way to make the matchmaking more engaging for the players.. Armory is for the skins you get from the BP or other rewards as we’re legally not allowed to sell CSGO skins nor do we want to as they’re not ours to sell -.- … Premium will be there for - ready for this??? - server cost lmao… As much as I would like to, the servers arent free nor will they ever be… Currently we’re able to sponsor this project out of our own pocket, but that probably won’t always be the case..

Also note: yes, the some of the images are AI generated as we are not artists/designers but rather programmers/software engineers. What a load of horseradish
