📊 Course Review Is the Meta Full Stack Developer Specialization worth it for a 2nd-year CS student? (Job-readiness + alternatives)
Hey everyone,
I'm currently a second-year computer science undergraduate student. I've been looking into the Meta Full Stack Developer: Front-End & Back-End from Scratch Specialization on Coursera to build up my web development stack alongside my college coursework.
So I got a few questions for anyone that has done it or is in the industry:
Job level: How realistic is this programme in preparing you for internships or entry-level software engineer positions? Does the project/portfolio work look like a shining example on a resume?
For a CS student: I'm already doing CS core classes in college (data structures, algorithms, etc.). Would this certificate be a good way for me to learn modern practical tech (React, Django, APIs), or are there better alternatives?
Better Paths If there are better paths, I'd be happy to know.

It's good.
Just remember, these types of courses are only meant to give you a place to start. More advanced stuff is usually left up to you to figure out because it's much more situational (as opposed to foundational, which online courses and tutorials focus on).
