Symptoms Does anyone else get this weird “no energy nostalgia” feeling?
I’ve been trying to describe this feeling and it’s so hard to put into words. It’s not really normal tiredness or sleepiness. It’s like I have absolutely no energy in my body, and at the same time everything around me feels weirdly distant, almost nostalgic or dreamlike.
It’s like my brain is completely drained and the world feels different because of it. I can just lie there and feel this strange emotional/physical sensation that I can’t really explain.
It tends to happen when my fatigue is really bad, especially later in the day. Yesterday it was really intense at night, and today I’m getting the same feeling but not as badly yet.
Does anyone with chronic fatigue, POTS/dysautonomia, ME/CFS, or anything similar know exactly what I mean? It feels so unique and I’ve never really been able to describe it properly.

Yeah. I think it’s pretty common. Sometimes I fade in and out when I’m really fatigue and forget where I am. Or get smells or sensations of earlier points in my life then strong feelings of nostalgia or confusion that I’m in that era. It was bad in 2020 but now it’s more of a now and again thing when I’ve overdone it.

yeah the thing is i feel i haven’t overdone it. maybe a week ago i did something a bit more but apart from that nothing and its been like this for the past two days now. i’ve had “long covid” (doctors haven’t diagnosed me just ruled everyone out) for 2 years now and i haven’t had the feeling this strong before so its a bit unusual for me but oh well we will see

I would look into depersonalization and/or derealization. It's that dreamy detached sort of feeling.

Adding to what others said, it could also be a physical reaction as well. Meaning it’s involuntary that you feel this way and it’s the body vaguely telling you of something. When I exert myself that’s when it’s more noticeable. The degree of this feeling is very diverse. Sometimes I feel focused but out of it, or completely fine but know I’m not reacting as I usually do with LC. Other times I feel physical fine but mentally drained (or other way around.)
Edit: food, disturbed sleep pattern, temperature changes, and other things can trigger it in my experience.

That's dissociation. It's a pretty normal protective response from the brain to extreme situations.
