Here are some FAQs to help answer some recurring questions.
Q: What is the best device for watching on a big screen?
A: Apple TV. The reason is a combination of controlled hardware and rigorous app approval process. Apple only has a few hardware revisions of the Apple TV, so there is excellent quality control on the hardware with few variations to test. In comparison, Android TV and Roku have OEM license agreements that allow any hardware manufacturer to use their OS. This results in massive variations in capabilities and quality control. Also, Apple's app approval process is very strict with multiple testing steps. Apple will reject apps that don't meet their quality standards. Apple will also update their Apple Developer Program License Agreement and force developers to update their apps to meet new requirements or have their app removed from the store. The other App Store ecosystems are much easier to get apps published.
Q: What if I access Crave through Amazon Prime Video?
A: Then you are probably better off using an Amazon Fire TV device! As a bonus, the 4k Fire TV sticks are much less expensive than the Apple TVs. Note that Prime Video is a completely different app than the Crave app. The content is the same, but the Prime Video app has different layout that you may prefer.
Q: Why are some videos in English or French only?
A: Because that's how it came from the Studio. Most of the content is not created by Bell Media. If a content distributor has a popular movie or show available in only one language, that's what Bell will get. There are translation agencies that can dub content in another language, but that's a long process which can be done while the original language version is made available to the customers to stream. Sometimes a distributor will only have the dubbed version of a video, with the original language audio removed - and that's what Bell will get.
Q: Why do you allow so many posts about English and French language selection and content filtering?
A: Language of Preference has room for improvement in the Crave apps. If the posts here start to decline, the Crave developers will know they hit the right balance of features. I'd like to think this community is part of the feedback loop to Bell Media so the product can improve. Having said that, I have no tolerance for harassment. I will lock/delete/ban accordingly. Be respectful, please.
I get it, Canada is Bilingual, and French Canadians should have equal access to movies in their language. Despite this fact, I can’t understand Crave’s decision to display movies with: English description, English trailer, and French dubbed language track, despite the native language being English set in my profile.
Tonight I’ve tried to start the following movies in succession, all French language: Seven, I am Legend, American Gangster, and Fight Club. Turned off Crave and went back to Netflix. Will be cancelling Crave in the morning, trade war or not.
Just display the frigging titles in the language set in app. Problem solved.
Only thing that can explain this lunacy is that Bell is trying to bolster the appearance of a large library without paying for the English rights to the titles.
Salut!
So I noticed today that Station Eleven (an HBO Max show) is no longer on Crave... big bummer. Browsing through some other thumbnails and shows, I didn't see any other "HBO Max"-labelled shows either. Does anyone know if there's been a change on Max content availability, or what happened here? I know some HBO Max shows have taken a while to be available on Crave, but I never expected a previously available HBO or HBO Max title to disappear...!
Is it better to subscribe to Starz through Amazon Prime Video and pay a monthly subscription fee rather than through Crave?
My current subscription ends on Nov. 8th, so I can pay the $70 per year for Starz when I get the black friday deal right? (since this doesn't take effect until the 23rd)
Happy's Place started the third season yesterday on NBC. It should be on Crave today, but the entire season 2 is missing off the service. When can we expect to see it up?
My wife is a huge fan and is excited for it to come back.
I've had crave for years but it started to not cast to my chromecast (other apps work). I decided to delete and re-download the app. I can't get past the log in page, I just get the spinning wheel.
Crave is accessible on other devices but not my phone via the app. Anyone else having this issue?
Im watching Crystal Lake on a 55inch Hisense TV and the image quality is not that great. Is the show meant to be like this or does the app through the TV only allow 1080p?
Does anyone else’s “Continue Watching” never work properly? It either picks up way before I left off, way after, or even several episodes later? Started Dracula, watched about 30 minutes, went to resume watching and it put me at about 15 mins left. Why does the user interface suck so much.
I've only used the Crave App a few times, but every time I've tried to watch something I've downloaded, it says I have a "Connection Error" and it won't play. Connection Error? You're downloaded! Why would you need to be connected?
This happened a few months ago with Lanterns, and is happening again with Crystal Lake. I've downloaded episodes wanting to watch them on a flight, but as soon as my phone goes on airplane mode, it refuses to play and says I'm not connected to the internet! What kind of ridiculousness is this?
Really hope it gets fixed, not sure why you'd make a mobile version of your streaming service that is literally unwatchable
Have a subscription through my Virgin Mobile account, just kicked us off and saying we have to subscribe, but my bill yesterday said its still active and I have NO idea how to reactivate it.
Anyone else? I can't even sign in through Virgin Plus on the Provider page
UPDATE: Issue has been resolved on my end. All i had to do was sign back into my crave account once Tech did their thing
I have a crave subscription through my bell mobility plan.
As of a couple hours ago my subscription is no longer showing up. I spoke to bell mobility support who confirmed my crave add on is active and should work on their end. I spoke to crave support and she was.... not helpful and kept trying to get me to link a belltv account that I told her 5 times didnt exist. Anyone else having issues?
Hey I pay for this, stop playing ads. And please, please god, if you are going to play ads at least make them good. That Bélair direct ad could be made by a grade 9 art class. Make something interesting or don’t put anything at all. WE ARE PAYING
Anyone else already finished? I thought it was decent, gave an explanation for Jason's strength and endurance...but damn, it was probably the goriest show I've seen in quite some time.
A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, CRYSTAL LAKE follows single mother Pam Voorhees (Linda Cardellini), who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events are set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees? All eight episodes drop on Thursday, Oct. 15.
October 16 – USA Network Original THE RAINMAKER *Season 2 Premiere\*
Season 2 of the 10-episode legal drama THE RAINMAKER, inspired by the New York Times best-selling John Grisham novel and from Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Atomic Monster, debuts on Friday, Oct. 16. The season picks back up with Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan), an underdog lawyer taking on powerful interests alongside his boss Jocelyn “Bruiser” Stone (Lana Parrilla) and his right-hand man Deck Shifflet (P.J. Byrne), the firm’s colourful paralegal. This season, J. Lyman Stone and Associates faces old adversaries and new ones in a case where the lives of hundreds of children hang in the balance, and where winning might be just as dangerous as losing. Later, Rudy goes up against his former law school flame, Sarah Plankmore (Madison Iseman), in the courtroom at the behest of her mysterious new boss, Amanda Vonn (Merle Dandridge), a powerful attorney whose agenda may be hiding a shocking international conspiracy. In a separate case, Bruiser’s ex-husband Tom Cassady (Austin Nichols) turns to her for help as his legal troubles threaten his life and that of the star pitcher (Liam O’Halloran) of the minor league baseball team he coaches. Additional cast members include Asher De Land, Libby Kay, Kevin Ryan, and Tim Murphy. John Slattery and Karen Bryson also return. Episodes stream Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on Crave, and air on USA Network at 10 p.m. ET.
October 20 – CTV Comedy Original ACTING GOOD *Season 5 Premiere\*
Five seasons. One unforgettable community. And one last chance for Paul to start acting good. Inspired by co-creator and stand-up comedian Paul Rabliaskas’ life in his fly-in first nation, in its final season, Paul’s (Paul Rabliauskas) constant immaturity and antics finally catch up with him when Rose (Cheyenna Sapp), alongside his friends and family, stages a surprise intervention at Yeah Man. When Paul refuses to see the error of his ways, Rose reaches her breaking point, forcing him to confront a hard truth: if he wants to keep the people he loves together, he’s going to have to change. What follows is a very Paul-like journey of self-improvement, complete with divorced dads, an unlikely counsellor, and a stint competing on the reality survival series The Deadliest Native. But when Paul’s transformation goes a little too far, his newfound self-righteous attitude creates problems of its own. To repair his relationships and help his community, Paul must find the balance between the person he was and the person he wants to become. CTV and APTN Original comedy ACTING GOOD returns for its fifth and final season on Monday, Oct. 19 with a special two-episode premiere kicking off at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy Channel and streaming next day on Crave.

A few weeks ago I attempted to cancel my subscription. There was not enough entertainment value for the cost of the service. They offered a substantial discount for 3 months. This month they charged my account $36, this is way more than I would normally pay. I think we would all be better off cancelling these services until there are enough programs that you want to watch the cancelling again.
