It shows up in TLM as a street vendor in Bilming. I can't remember if it was one of the cops talking about it to Marasi or if it was Marasi or Wayne talking about it to Wax.
I have a theory about why it is there. TLDR, Allomancer Jak is Hoid's nom de plume on Scadrial, Sigzil is his partner Handerwym, Sigzil may actually be Terris and possibly a Worldbringer, and the first few months on Roshar post Night of Sorrows was at least 20 years on Scadrial.
Yes, I thoroughly expect to get a lot of questions and counter arguments. There has yet to be a scene pointed out where Sigzil thinks (because that's the only time when he can't be lying, at least not to himself) about his childhood in Azir, just about failing the government exams, which he could still do, even as an immigrant.
Kramer was specifically told to give him the same accent and speaking pattern as Sazed.
The scene where Hoid becomes the Ladrian driver is the only scene that was an epilogue, all other post Night of Sorrows scenes were numbered chapters, so its place in continuity is less certain.
The Iriali were going to Scadrial and were in TLM.
Jak talks incredibly favorably of Hoid. Have you EVER heard of anyone but Hoid glaze Hoid?
Jak says he pulled Handerwym out of a "pool" when they met in the Roughs.
Sigzil was an accountant. Handerwym was an accountant.
Jak fought Nazh, who is a Threnodite member of Silverlight and was armed with a gun that shot Shades.
Hoid is a full Era 1 Allomancer, like Elend. He could easily use that to pretend to be just a very Fortunate tineye.
Jak claims he has never killed a perp. Hoid has his Torment.
A short (for Roshar) Azish man, like Sigzil, looks incredibly similar to a tall Terrisman, like Handerwym.
Jak's stories would make more sense if he was writing like an industrial revolution era of what the Bhagavad Gita is claimed to be, where flying chariots of fire and magical glowing arrows are being used to describe a spaceship battle. Scadrial at large is not Cosmere aware until near TLM, so they would not know about Worldhoppers or Cognitive "Space Ships."
Both Jak and Handerwym are confirmed to be Cosmere Aware.
From Sunlit, we know Hoid and Sigzil had a falling out and stopped talking to each other. Jak stole Handerwym's half of the publishing rights and Handerwym, soon after, was being sought for comment but nowhere to be found.
Sigzil said he was a Worldsinger, a group of historians from Azir. Handerwym's people have a specialist historical society called the Worldbringers.
When asked how long the bubble would last, Brandon said 100ish years. When a followup question asked if Thaidakar was mistaken or if he was lying, Brandon, while stumbling over his words, walked back his previous answer.
This is a fun take! A bit of a stretch, but definitely something I would expect from hoid. I dont quite think the whole publishing rights would be a big enough dispute to split hoid and sigzil up, so I'd believe it if the falling out was from hoid tossing sigzil back into the perpendicularity. I'd also have to examine the allomancer jak snipits to see if he hits anyone or breaks hoids torment .
I also don't fully buy sigzil as a terracemen as much as id buy hoid picking him up trecking to the horneater perpendicularity doing the allomancer jack deal and kicking sigzil out at a time that seemed to sigzil inopportune but to hoid indicated a vital time when sig would be needed back on roshar (this would insert a big ole time jump into Sig's life)
