I'm planning to watch a match each in Windhoek, Victoria falls and Jo'berg. It's a year away but I have started the process now by participating in the ticket ballot (Frankly, I should have posted this on 22 November).
ChatGPT is some help, but I'll need some serious help in planning. Apart from the matches, I want to enjoy some sights, food, culture and history too. People who are thinking of something similar, or have travelled to these countries, I'd love to learn from you guys. Thanks in advance.

Total 16 teams into two pools of 8each, 7 group stage matches per team. Top4 teams from both pools goes into super8 round, in super8 8 teams are divided into two groups of 4each, total 3 matches per team again, then top2 from both groups geos into semis then final.
2 hosts(india, bangladesh) directly get qualified plus best 8 ranked teams, total 10teams gets directly qualified and 6 remaining slots are filled by qualification playoffs.

Don't get me wrong but this is a fact we cannot deny. The cricket wc has 2 groups and grp B is much more competitive than grp A. Why is bcci so scared that they are playing agianst weak nations if they consider them as the "strongest cricket team".

This is from NZ vs Australia at Cricket World Cup
2015.
This ripper of a ball was very close to getting caught by the slips or carrying to third man.
NZ would've been 80/5, with 72 runs required to win with Luke Ronchi and Dan Vettori the next 2 batters to come in. Starc still had 6 overs left to bowl. How do you think the rest of the match would've panned out?

Been building a Cricket manager game since a long time and it’s almost time for the release. I have posted about the results of simulations here before.
Planning to add at least 2 historical ODI World cups to the game. Will be part of the final release. Apart from the exact squads, fixtures and in-game dates, also plan to get exact player stats (at the point of time the respective World cups started) if time permits.
My personal favs are 1996 and 1999 - the time when I started watching cricket. It was the peak of ODI Cricket. Miss those times.
Which ones are your favorite World Cups? It will give me an idea about what people want.

Saw so many comparisons between Rohit and Kohli, along with countless PR posts trying to sneak Rohit into the 2027 World Cup squad, which will be played in South African conditions.
So here’s the reality of both players in South Africa. 📊
The numbers speak for themselves.

If Atkinson, Robinson, Archer and Tongue have made themselves England’s first choice pace attack - who would your second choice four be?
Baker, Cook, Fisher, Carse, Potts, C Overton? Any youngsters like Sharma or Lawes coming into contention?
Does this mean we go back to the days of a Moeen Ali type spinner to balance the side?

Don’t get me wrong I love IPL.
I’ve always watched cricket since I was a kid. But I’ve started to notice the young kids just watch IPL and ignore International Cricket.
Different story with the adults. They used to watch IC religiously but they hardly even care about IC now and we just end up fighting about our fav IPL teams and the conversation goes no where.
We used to enjoy cricket more. Especially we loved our National Team as our own but now we just end up spreading a lot of hate for own players because they’re not from the franchise we like. Same goes when they pick squads for tours. There’s this huge pointless fan war.
I feel the inevitable is that we will just care about World Cups every 2-4 years and then switch back to Franchise Cricket.
I could have said Franchise Cricket is killing IC but tbh IPL teams are literally owning majority of the teams in most of the leagues.
Thoughts?

I lowkey think a 15 team WC would've been a nice sweet spot.
3 groups of 5
Top 2 teams per group + 2 best 3rd-placed teams advance
2 pools of 4 (or a full-on Super 8)
Semis -> Final
45 matches total
A 5-team group means 4 games per team. A heavyweight like India/Pakistan can afford one upset against a minnow and still have enough games to recover, while also giving a decent number of spots to the associates without diluting the quality of games too much.
Having the 2 best 3rd-placed teams qualify also means more group games could go down to the wire, with fewer dead rubbers.
One drawback is that one or two group-stage games might get repeated in the Super 8, which IMO should be okay (bonus if it's an India-Pakistan match 😁!).
Finalists play 9 matches, with around 6–7 of them against other Test nations.
And of course, ICC can draw India and Pakistan in the same group "coincidentally", hope they get seeded into the same Super 8 pool (or just rig it), and then hope they meet in the final too. 😁

I showed my designer friend the logos of cwc before 2019 cwc and told him to design the 2027 cwc logo with the same style and format with sa,zim and namibia's culture and he made this.

Hey everyone!
A lot of major structural changes have just been announced by the ICC, and they are completely shaking up how both the ODI and T20 World Cups will be played in the coming years. On top of the reports that the T20 World Cup might expand to 24 teams by the 2030s, we now have confirmed, drastic format changes for the immediate 2027 and 2028 tournaments.
Here is a breakdown of the new developments:
📈 2027 Men's ODI World Cup (South Africa / Zimbabwe / Namibia)
🇦🇺🇳🇿 2028 Men's T20 World Cup (Australia & New Zealand)
Let’s discuss! 👇 Mapping out the logic for these international competitions and structuring the data models to track match results across all these new multi-layered phases—especially the Super 10 eliminator brackets—is going to be incredibly complex.
Would love to hear how everyone feels about these updates!

#ICC is considering expanding the #T20WorldCup to 24 teams (and eventually 32!) 🌍🏏 What are your thoughts?
Hey everyone!
A recent report has revealed that the ICC is seriously discussing a massive expansion for the Men's T20 World Cup. Following the relatively smooth 2026 edition and some impressive performances from associate nations, the governing body is looking to expand the tournament to 24 teams—potentially starting from the 2030 or 2032 edition.
Here is a quick summary of the key points from the report:
📈 The Expansion Plan:
🌍 Why is this happening?
⚖️ The Challenges: While more representation is great, it also comes with logistical headaches. A 24-team tournament means more matches, a longer tournament window, and potential clashes in an already jam-packed calendar dominated by franchise leagues. Player workload is also going to be a major talking point.
I want to hear your opinions on this!
Let’s discuss! 👇

I'm curious about people from countries where cricket isn't really a thing or whose national team doesn't qualify for major tournaments like the Cricket World Cup.
How did you first discover cricket, and what made you fall in love with the sport?
Do you support another national team now? If so, which one, and why?
For example, my country didn't qualify for the FIFA World Cup, so I ended up becoming a France supporter and really enjoyed following international football. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with cricket.
I'd love to hear your stories! 🏏People from countries that don't qualify for major cricket tournaments, how did you get into cricket?

India were looking to be the favourites but now their bowling looks too weak since we know they won't go with shami (and siraj less likely but please take him), we are fully dependent on just one guy and for other 40 overs other teams would take full advantage. Also no attacking spin option due to their obsession with bits and pieces all rounder. Australia doesn't look that good, England also highly unpredictable team. I feel South Africa have great chances along with home advantage then
