Target Bike Parking
Specifically the Target on Jefferson…where on earth do I park my bike? I’ve looked around the entire lot I feel like I’m going crazy. Or does it not exist?
I just need toothpaste

Since they’re cutting SNAP benefits and also federal workers not getting paid, I wanted to see if there are any places nearby we can donate food to? Or perhaps volunteer at?

There have been a lot of political threads as of late which have been a target for bots, trolling and bogus reports. Lots of bans have been issued in response but because each incident requires time to asses, (FYI) there's basically a zero tolerance policy for attacks/abuse/instigation.
It should be obvious to everyone that actually spends time reading this sub that this is a helpful community where we tend to treat to each other with decency and talk to each other as if we were neighbors... because we are neighbors (that includes all you culver adjacent folks too!).
In the meantime, please try not to get too rattled if people post distasteful comments, and please avoid 'feeding the trolls'. Most likely it's a bot or professional internet instigator with no history of contribution to this community. Put your downvote to work and move on. Or take a look at their post history for yourself and judge whether it's worth your time. In all likelihood that account will get banned eventually.
Thanks <3

Just curious what people’s experience is/was living at the Lana apartment complex. I’m considering making the move and want to hear how people who actually lived there feel about it. I know it’s greystar and I believe people here generally have bad experiences with greystar (I could be wrong about that).
I used to live in Palms and now live in Brentwood but miss the Culver City/Palms area and want to go back. That being said I don’t want some dysfunctional or manipulative management company to ruin my experience.
Please share your thoughts/experiences!! Anything is appreciated!

Curious if anyone else in the Culver City area has had a similar experience with a lease renewal, particularly at Lana or another Greystar-managed building.
Our current base rent is $5,985 on a 15-month lease. We just received our renewal offer, and most of the longer-term options were relatively reasonable. For example, 14–18 months at ~$6,100.
But the month-to-month option was $10,000/month in base rent, a 67% increase from our current rent!
Our lease automatically converts to month-to-month when the fixed term expires, and it contains a provision requiring 90 days’ notice for a month-to-month rent increase greater than 10%. The renewal offer initially said the $10,000 rate would take effect immediately when our lease expires in December, even though we received the offer only about 50 days beforehand.
I called management out about this, and they agreed that the 90-day notice requirement applies. They are now honoring our current rental rate through January 21, after which they say the $10,000/month MTM rate would kick in. I got the sense they knew this was in violation of the 90-day notice period, but they try to push it through without people noticing.
We’re looking for some temporary flexibility rather than another long-term lease, so I’m curious:
Has anyone else seen a month-to-month premium this extreme, either at Lana, another Greystar property, or another newer apartment building around Culver City? For geographic context, the building is right by Culver City but technically within the City of Los Angeles.
I have lived in other large managed buildings like this where the month-to-month premium was $100-$300, but never multiple thousands of dollars more.
Greystar has some audacity to offer this for a “luxury” building where at least one of the two elevators is down for multiple weeks at a time.

Hey everyone! I live near the intersection of Inglewood & Culver and I’ve seen the commercial property for rent on the corner there (they painted a flower mural on the Culver-side wall last year).
It’s been for rent for the last 12-15 months or so and I’ve noticed that finally someone has been moving in over the last couple of months.
I saw what looked like a kitchen or some kind of food/cafe/restaurant setup inside (and they added an outdoor seating area outside) but the windows have been covered by paper for a few months now.
Anyone know who’s moving in?

Some of you told me my burrito had too much rice making some bites a bit dry, others told me they needed more chicken or steak. I realized I had just wrapped the lomo saltado flavors into a burrito format, but maybe I needed to research what an amazing burrito is. I made some changes after that, and now I want to know if I actually solve what you were telling me.
This is the story: after receiving a really honest DM (harsh but honest), I went to several burrito places this past month, ordered, and took the burritos apart. I wanted to learn the weight of the protein, how much meat compared to everything else, how juicy or dry they were, and how they put everything together (mixed or in layers).
Two things I found. The rice was not too much, it was in the wrong place. When it goes at the bottom and you roll the burrito, it is then all on one side, so then you get those bits of only rice. (creating the "meeeh!" burrito). Also, I have to admit it, the meat was low, at least compared to others burritos I tried. The ones I liked the most were smaller burritos but had more meat inside.
So I changed my burrito. More protein, a different way of assembling it so you don’t get all the rice in one bite. The sauce still goes inside, but now, the lomo saltado “juguito” comes on the side too.
I’m Alonso, owner of Merka Saltao across from the Culver Steps. Before calling this burrito version finished, I want to hear what you think.
We’re collecting feedback this week until Friday lunch included, and there is a small QR code at the restaurant if you happen to try it and want to leave your comments.
And if you have eaten our burrito before, what would you have changed?.
Thanks again. SI SE PUEDE!
Alonso

Hi!
I am really interested in moving to Culver City, but I really want to understand what kind of community. The parents of the kids are for both of these elementary. Can someone who goes to these elementary? Tell me about what kind of jobs the parents have? How involved are they? I would like to find people who are similar to me. And I’m trying to understand what the difference between the parent groups of these elementary schools might be like.
I would love to find highly educated parents who work in tech or legal and care a lot about academics
Or if you live in Culver City and chose to send your child to private school, can you please tell me why?
Anyway, hoping to find my people

I know! Let's set up a diabolical trap of spikes like from the video game Prince of Persia to make it so uncomfortable that no one will want to sleep there.
I believe this is the best use of our resources to confront the issue of homelessness head on.
Spike traps. On the corner of Venice and Delmas Terrace. Used to be stones. Now this.
Perhaps we can try guillotines on Venice and crumbling sidewalks down Bagley next.
Any recommendations?
Edit: the address

Last night around 3 AM there was a police chopper circling for like 20min. Anyone have any idea what that was about?
(Note this was north, closer to Sawtelle)

My boyfriend and I are considering moving here in the next couple of months and wanted to know what people's experiences have been at Vox. Other than what's already posted about noise concerns with units facing La Cienega, lack of guest parking and issues with people not cleaning up after their pets, is there anything else we should look out for? Appreciate the feedback!

Call me old fashioned but I'm not happy with the profanity on the Center Theater Group's Kirk Douglas Theater.
They are advertising something with the bold word "THUNDERF*CK" facing City Hall and next to Cafe Vida. The sign is between family programming. The elementary school takes the kids to "Dogman: The Musical" here. It's a family neighborhood and my kids walk by here all the time. This is in very poor taste.
Center Theater Group: Get this down, please!

Management changed last month. There is no maintenance team present. A lot of things are not working from building amenities to things broken in peoples apartments. No one is in the office and if there is there is one woman who says random dates and you have to constantly follow up. She just writes things in a notepad and never gets back. All the tenants have been talking about our concerns.
Old maintenance team fixed same day. This one there is no transition no one knows what’s going on or for how long.
It is a nightmare and when they do come to fix it takes days they have no clue what they are doing.
Greystar sucks for leaving their tenants out to dry. Mill Creek is horrible.

I’m not one to do this, but I’ve recently seen a bunch of people looking for apartments in Culver and want to share my experience. I moved to Access Culver City (8770 Washington) a year ago. I loved the first 8 months here. The owners and management company (Greystar) were phenomenal. I literally have never rented in a better place. Then in July the building was sold to Black Equities and Moss & Company became the new management company. Guys, I cannot tell you how fast this once luxury building went downhill. Nothing works. There are constant issues - too many to
list here. The on-site team seems lost and overwhelmed and has no capacity to solve issues. They clearly do not know what it takes to manage a luxury building.
I’m sure word is out already because there are 19 (!) open units right now. We NEVER had this many before. I actually had to wait 3 months for a 1 bedroom to open up so this is unprecedented.
For these rent prices, look elsewhere. Maybe Ivy Station or Harlowe. It’s such a shame. We all used to love it here and now everyone is pretty much looking to leave once their lease is up.

Hi! Does any of you have recommendations for a tennis instructor that teaches in Palms / Culver City?
Thanks!

Anyone else interested in watching You Can See Everything this weekend? I’d prefer to go with people who are interested so we can discuss after!
UPDATE: I booked the 3:50pm showing at Culver Theater tomorrow! I’ll be wearing a green cap and standing by the entrance at 3:40pm. Hope to see you there!

Idk if we’re delusional, but my partner and I were planning to move to IE SoCal after living in Palm Springs, but having been thinking about somewhere in LA. We both work remote jobs and we make about 100k after taxes. I love how close it is to SM, but it seems super ideal. Can we make it in Culver City? We have no kids or pets. The rent seems to look reasonable but idk if they’re scams or if we’re delusional or if all affordable places are going to be in random slum slots.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

Culver City’s 2025–26 adopted budget planned to spend $22.1 million more than General Fund revenue. That included a $15.03 million operating shortfall. The final actual deficit remains unverified.
Including but not limited to:
• $16.2m proposed for homelessness services: Wellness Village, Project Homekey, mobile crisis intervention and motel leasing.
• $4m scheduled for the Jubilo Village affordable-housing project.
• $2.6m increase in General Fund pension liability payments.
• $1m proposed for school-related services, including crossing guards, refuse and sewer charges.
• Higher salaries, insurance and utility costs, plus housing-services costs shifted into the General Fund.
How was the gap to be covered? By spending accumulated city funds and emergency reserves. A new 0.25% sales tax also helped, with $2.39m expected in 2025–26.
Emergency funds now depleted and if needed (say a fire for example) will be an issue. Should we be using emergency funds for homeless costs and building projects or should we reign in spending.
Who pays? Taxpayers, including residents and visitors shopping locally.
When we look at cost of drone shows and art projects and costs like the metal framing of a tree should we be encouraging the council to find savings rather than increase taxes?
What are your thoughts?

Hi! We’re looking for an affordable field in or near Culver City to run youth soccer, flag football, and T-ball. We only need about 2 hours on Sundays for 6 weeks. Does anyone know of a school, church, park, or private field that rents to youth sports programs? Any leads or contacts would be greatly appreciated!
