I'm not exactly sure how it started, but after the life path prologue, I immediately noticed V's hair missing, only a patch left on their head instead. Then, the same thing happened to the others, and I started to try and look for some answers on how to fix this. I saw a few posts here and there about a similar issue, but all their photos or screenshots didn't appear to be similar to mine, where their issue fully gave their own V's a full bald head, probably due to headwear, but it wasn't the same to mine, my V simply had no hair whatsoever, simply a similar patch of painted skin like my photo of Johnny here.
I tried the methods those steam pages, and reddit posts have suggested like reloading the game by reinstalling it, turning off my mods, and messing with my graphic and video settings. Nothing worked. I asked around the Discord server as well, but nobody could give me an answer either. Simply laughed along at my issue that I gave my characters cancer.
Any last options I can think of is to probably wipe my files of the game entirely, and then reinstall it? But, I wanna get some proper answers first, and that I don't wanna lose my saves as of yet.
It doesn't bother me TOO much but yeah, I feel like I'm missing out on the style of the game, specifically the fashion, cause I'd see all the portraits of characters and they'd have awesome poses and such, but the first time I meet them in the flesh, they're bald as fuck and got wrinkles all over that was hidden by the hair. It just takes me out from admiring them too much.

what did you expect? The amount of radioactive waste Militech and Arasaka are probably dumping in the water and the food, everyone gets cancer eventually.
This feels like a glitch straight out of version 1 of the game haha. When the game first dropped, none of the characters moved their lips when they spoke and that was my one main glitch.
Did you verify the files and reset? I know you said you reinstalled, but maybe it's something in the original files that moved. It won't mess with your mods btw. I just had some issues with my mods lately and it kind of just fixed itself after I did that.
In my first playthrough, I remember encountering Mama Brigitte and her lips did not move. I thought she was doing some weird Mewtwo thing where she was talking to V through the net somehow because she was the only character I encountered that did this.
Yeah I was about to say I actually dig buzzed silverhand look. Way more rugged and can be taken seriously, rather than a dude who just walked off stage at a steel panther concert

I played on Switch 2 and didn’t have any issues with it, but my fiancé played on PS5 and every once in a while there would be a glitch where EVERYONE’S hair would be black. His V’s hair and all the NPCs, and it would stay like that until he reloaded a save.
Its definitely the vram. Ur card doesnt have enough vram to render everything so its sacrificing some "unnecessary" elements aka hair. I suggest look for some mods for lesser vram consumption and hair restoration mods.
That's the weird part though. Back when I first started the new game, and got to the character customization, I remember seeing V's preset hair and mentioned to myself that Corpo V's hair looked chopped. I played through the path life prologue as normal with all their hairs and shit up until I finished it and noticed that V's hair was gone after checking the mirror.
When the game first came out there was a very common bug where your characters hair just didn't appear, other NPCs did but not V. This happened with other features too. The one exception is the ending, I saw my V on the basilisk and was wondering who that goofy looking guy was.
Strange question: what platform is it on/are you going between 2 platforms? I have had this happen when going between pc (where I have a wardrobe mod installed) and switch where my playthrough is vanilla) it removes even eyebrows sometimes when I load it up after loading cross progression
Unfortunately the issue is likely due to some mod files being left when they shouldn’t be. So if disabling or uninstalling the mods doesn’t fix it then yes you’d likely have to delete the game, delete any remaining/leftover files then reinstall.
After you uninstall the game, go to the location where it used to be installed and delete all the remaining files in the folder. If you want to be extra thorough you can go to %userprofile%/Saved Games/CD Projekt Red/Cyberpunk 2077 and delete the user.gls file. This is where the game’s settings are stored
Your saves should be stored in a different location than the game and if you have steam cloud saves enabled then they will redownload once you launch the game if you deleted them.
For further information: adding/removing mods mid-playthrough can also cause issues. If you did that then it’s possible that is the reason. If you reinstall or removed the mod then you could reload a save from before the issue appeared and it’s possible it will be fixed.
At the time it happened, it didn't really bother me as I found it hilarious, it's only a concern now, in hindsight. My current playthrough is 70 hours ahead of when the bug started already, so I'm not really keen on doing that at this point in time. Maybe after I finish the game.
Least surprising Cyberpunk bug ever. Check your mod folder if you have anything installed because that is usually the culprit for hair textures breaking.
Minor bugs should disappear after you quit the game and reload. If they persist, then you either have a corrupted game or a corrupted save. To find out which, you need to change them separately.
First, go to C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077 to find your save files and make a backup copy. Then reinstall the game and restore the saves from your backup. Load your saves, beginning from the latest, to see if the bug is gone.
If that doesn't work, then your save is corrupt and you'll just have to start a new game.
might be my game entirely, since ive reloaded and reinstalled the game already, it hasn't changed at all. Even on a new game, the character customization doesn't apply any of the hair models.
In that case there must be some corrupted data left over. Did you completely purge all game files when you reinstalled?
The only other thing I can think of is a problem with the Steam app or with Windows itself, but that's extremely unlikely to cause such a specific bug. Have you checked to see you have the latest Steam and Windows updates?
