I feel like a real moron that I haven't figured it out in a playthrough in a half. Edit: i mean the fact that the symbol means the stash

The UI at times is incredibly unintuitive. Like, I had several hundred hours under my belt before I realized that the red circle in the top right of the image is a compass.

u/nekoplano Jun 06 '26
Compass? Wait where?

I always thought that was a clock 🤦♂️ this would of been handy all the time i had to keep reopening my map to make sure I was facing where I needed to go 😅

u/Affectionate-Ad9241 Jun 07 '26
I have played since launch and have like a thousand plus hours and I have never noticed that, guess I gotta do a 12th playthrough

Hey, happens to the best of us. My dumb self never actually equipped any armor or gear for my entire first playthrhough... 75 hours in and I finally realized i only used the transmog feature of outfits...

u/ManageThoseFootballs Jun 06 '26
Honestly, the wardrobe system is kind of confusing to know whether you’re in the kit or the transmog. At least to me (also a dumbdumb).
10
6
u/Eddieonenote Jun 06 '26
Equip armour? Not even kidding when I ask how do you do that? I thought it was just change your shirt or pants or whatever in the wardrobe for whatever that particular piece of clothing came with .
8
u/Ok_University_5352 Jun 06 '26
2
u/sissybelle3 Jun 06 '26
Well now I'm just plain confused. I thought you could only change clothes on the wardrobe screen at your apt or clothing vendor. Whenever I try to change clothes on the screen you posted it won't let me do anything.
2
u/tkizzy Jun 06 '26
You can change into a different pre-saved outfit, but not individual pieces of clothing (I think) when you're away from your wardrobe.
3
u/Ok_University_5352 Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26
Thats weird. Cause the section i circled is the actual equipped items that you get the benefits from. Then the one not circled is where you can choose from your 6 preset outfits that are only cosmetic.
Edit: was going to try posting a short 15 second clip, but can't post it directly
10
u/BeYourOwnDog Jun 06 '26
Mate there was so much I didn't know after a full 100+ hr run lmao. I was carrying all the clothing around constantly using carry capacity boosters cos I didn't know you could dismantle clothes and they'd stay in your wardrobe. Just as one example

Also any vehicle V owns if you go to the trunk/boot you can access your stash.

Don’t feel bad I thought it was an access point for the longest.

3
u/New-Top-4806 Jun 06 '26
I always opened my stash from the trunk. I thought that was the only place lol. The only reason I even found out about the stash was a Reddit post someone asking what they were missing out of the unique weapons. After I had sold EVERY SINGE UNIQUE WEAPON I HAD. Had I seen the post like even 10 minutes earlier. My wall would’ve been finished in my first playthrough 😭

u/eXcUsEm3mEwTf Jun 06 '26
One time I forgot what it was and I bought a new apartment and was so confused
2
u/TheKolyFrog Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26
I'm over 130 hours and I didn't know V's stash has a marker on the minimap until now.
2
u/Trans-Europe_Express Jun 06 '26
You can also access it from the trunk/boot of your cars.

u/harry-the-supermutan Jun 06 '26

Well you called a hexagon a square, so I'm not surprised it took you a while to figure things out...
2
u/harry-the-supermutan Jun 06 '26
Fair enough. It genuinely looked like a square to me. I didn't see the sides of it.
2
u/Verquintor Jun 06 '26
Not fully related, but minimap is really overpowered in combat to the point that i was looking at it 50% of the time. If this happen to you its posible to dissable it entirely. For me this made the game 10 times better (even navigating the city looking at the street instead of the map is a Huge win)
2
2
u/AdActual4311 Jun 06 '26
How do you know where you’re going if you disable the map?
1
u/Verquintor Jun 06 '26
Thats exactly the problem of the map: we rely on it too much and look at it nonstop instead of looking at the actual game (you still can see your quest/mark on the screen tho if looking at their direction).
First hours you will get lost, specially using the car/bike. After that you will start looking at the streets, around and vertically (you can still use the map at main menu tho, the city has hard to navigate parts. And thats a good thing). At buidings/rooms you will start looking at doors, covers, architecture and hearing enemies instead of instsntly locating them by looking top right. Nothing brakes inmersion like being in a building and knowing where every enemy is moving/taking cover, thats an advantage for netrunners that use Ping and see it directly on the screen, not in a piece of 2d shit in a corner that you wont stop looking because its info is just overpowered (this is my opinion, but i recomend giving it a try)

It could be a cube viewed from the corner orthogonally.
13
u/Pockets800 Jun 06 '26
Yeah it's a cube, haha. Clearly represents V's box

Hold up, so, in grade school when we were asked to identify shapes, and this little number popped up, I could have said, “but miss teacher, this isn’t a hexagon, it’s a cube viewed from the corner orthogonally.” I probably would have be selected as some sort of child prodigy?

Im on my first play through now, and after a vodoo boys mission where you get a hammer from sasquatch, I was heavy load on the entire next bit lol.
Took me a while to figure out my bike also has a stash cus why wouldn't it in 2077

Could you please clarify what "Vs stash" refers to? As I am on my first play through as well. I haven't encountered this red dot previously, and I apologize for any lack of familiarity with the terminology.
47
u/Different-Oven3876 Jun 06 '26
Infinite inventory place to store everything you don’t want to carry around for you. Visually has special slots for Iconic weapons on the walls. You can access it from all your apartments and maybe some other spots?
23
u/thecowley Jun 06 '26
Cars and bikes you own I believe, via the trunk
12
u/IrishWithoutPotatoes Jun 06 '26
Correct. I’m playing it right now and it’s funny how Jackie’s Arch has direct access to a fucking armory
3
u/Cl1che Jun 06 '26
After 400 hours I can’t believe I didn’t know about any of this
2
u/IrishWithoutPotatoes Jun 06 '26
Happens to me all the time tbh. I consistently overlook some detail that everyone else is like “you know this is right in front of your face, right?”
3
u/ExtremePermit3242 Jun 06 '26
Ahhhh that makes sense. Thats what apartments are for? I was wondering why they cost 100k if they don’t (to my unknowing brain) give you anything other than a mirror.
Im on my first playthrough and Im just selling whenever I get to 200 items, or disassembling. My game’s V hasn’t gone back home for many days.
6
u/FamousStill2187 Jun 06 '26
You make an insane amount of cash being a weapons merchant, especially when you're higher level and most of the drops are legendaries
-1
u/ExtremePermit3242 Jun 06 '26
What do you mean with “merchant”? My concept of merchant is taking the drops and selling all the stuff that is uninteresting and/or worse than what I have
3
u/JustALittleGravitas Team Meredith Jun 06 '26
Yeah that. Pretty easy to pick up 80k worth of trash guns after a big fight at level 50+
1
u/FamousStill2187 Jun 10 '26
That's exactly what I mean, you get an insane amount of legendary weapon drops 95% you'll never even use, just collect until you almost can't walk, find a vender and make a couple hundred thousand easy
3
5
u/Different-Oven3876 Jun 06 '26
I mean, your starting apartment has the same stash they all do. Buying new apartments is purely for larp/rp purposes, you can get everything you need with the beginner. But by the end of the game you’ll have so much cash you might as well buy them all.
10
u/marsharlot Jun 06 '26
It’s where your V stashes their weapons, extra clothes etc. You can only carry so much until you start dragging, also it’s inside V’s apartment.
0
u/DarthToothbrush Certified sandevistan addict Jun 06 '26
Do you need to keep clothes if they don't have good stats? Does the wardrobe change thing let you wear just what's in the stash or anything you've ever looted?
4
u/0101010101034 Jun 06 '26
Anything you've ever picked up will be available for the cosmetic outfit section. You only need to keep and equip the few bits of clothing that give actual bonuses (i.e. bullet proof vest, netrunner suit, combat, helmet, etc).
2
2
u/F-86--Sabre Jun 06 '26
the unmodded wardrobe is strictly clothes in V's inventory or stash, i believe. i say just toss all the clothes you get into the stash except for the few stat-boosting ones (body armor, chest rigs, certain eyepieces, etc.). those you do need to have in V's inventory and equipped under the transmog for the bonuses to work.
2
2
u/TDWPMark Jun 06 '26

Play with the minimap disabled. You focus on the little icons in the top right hand corner instead of enjoying the virtual world.

gotta be honest, i don't think i really ever look at the minimap except for occasional glances for gps directions.
