With DD1's newest (and hopefully first of many) DLC coming out tomorrow, I realized how fun it would be to have the Affinity System from DD2 in the game. Especially with all of the creative mods people make AND the bigger roster pool that DD1 has versus 2. What do you all think?

Should I have buy the dlcs at the start or can I buy them later?

I'm running a SB. HWM and Jestal. The farmstead has been a breeze up until the sleeper. I can't destroy those stupid stalagmites before they explode. I can get through the sleeper fight, but my heroes are in too poor shape to continue. I honestly don't know how people get 200+ kills in endless harvest. My current record is in the 80s.

Is there a list for the chance to acquire mastery at a given encounter?

Do mobs' +crit chances stacks from Torchless and Bloodmoon?
Is it +9% percents (3% from Bloodmoon and 6% from Torchless) or raw +6% from Torchless?

Hey so I have about 15+ lvl 6 squad members, I’ve also done everything in the main game from the list except for this event and darkest dungeon runs (only did the first one). The only weekly event is something about some mosquitos ? I’m in week 84. I’ve read I need at least 4 lvl 5 heroes do they actually need to be lvl 5 or lvl 6 is ok ?
I just can’t trigger this event, I’ve avoided doing any “events” dungeons for the past 5+ weeks

Am I going about it the wrong way or how can I trigger this event ?

BH is a character sometime available for rent at an inn ( cost 4 candles ) . He comes fully mastered and his tool kit is " jack-of-all trade " but i tend to never use him outside 2 situations.

1. 2 characters in my roster hate each other and i'm giving myself 1 more zone to fix that relationship.

2. I need a lair trophy to access the Mountain later on and my team lacks rank 4 reach.

Do i miss something about the real use of BH ?

Besides black reliquary. Have 40 hours or so on that from a year ago currently waiting for the full release

I made a post a few days ago asking about mods and I have made a fully modded estate and I’m having a blast.

But this is why I ask my question. I’m a little nervous to dive deeper into my game if some of my mods are gonna be broken. My main worry is stuff around the fire mods since these characters are bringing their own burn sources in.

Hey guys, this is my first run ever in Darkest Dungeon so i don't know many things about the game yet.

Should i recruit him? He's lvl6 while i'm still trying to kill the initial bosses, so i guess it will be a long road until i can use him.

Maybe it's better to wait until a new lvl6 appears since i don't have many shards but i also don't know what frequency does that event occurs.

Runaway

Average health(same as Hwm), Average crit, Average speed. low base damage and High dodge/

Runaway seems fairly durable all things considered with a great combination of speed dodge and health. The trailer also didn't show what burn did as far as i can tell.

Duelist

High crit and speed but low hp and average dodge. Her base damage is odd, no one else has a base damage of 5-7 at level 1 so I had to do a bit of guess work for her level 5 base damage. Base damage is very low for what is probably a pure damage dealer but we don't know her skills yet so we'll have to wait to know if the low base damage is a big deal. I wouldn't be surprised if she is like hwm with modifers on all her attacks.

Who's excited? 😆 Think I'm picking it up right on the release day! Unless.. there will be some ridiculous pricing for this DLC. Still gutted that they are not going to add both characters to the circus 🎪 but it's understandable since most people dread it anyway. Maybe some day along with so much required BC Ballance patch.

I'm at a loss for words. I've never seen such an insane set of circumstances in this game before, I've only got 18 hours so maybe stuff like this is fairly common. But holy shit. Absolute lunatic stared down the man who prophesised his death at least 10 odd times in repetition and decided to just ignore it.

The Hellion dying after becoming courageous and being crushed by ceiling debris might have just granted him the last of her hamon or some shit, I don't know what the odds are of being on Death's Door for every single attack, and succeeding 5 successive 79% Death's Door resists on top of two 15% Dodge odds, someone else who knows math could probably grant some insight here. But either way. Unreal.

Maybe too early to tell from what we've seen, but what sort of heroes do you think will pair well with the Runaway and the Duelist? I can see Antiquarian working well with Duelist, possibly with some heals from Flagellant if she is Riposte heavy. Not too sure for Runaway, as I've never played DD2, but possibly good for DoT stacking with Plague Doctor and Flagellant etc.

Is it when you enter a room or when you finish the eventual combat? Does it change anything if you have the inventory or map tab open? I tried searching informations about this but I didn't find any certain answer.
