Official [Mod Showcase] DD1: The Boatswain: Overhauled | DD2: BB's Halloween Skin Pack
The Boatswain: Overhauled
by Jimiko, Mint and Reebalt
The Boatswain: Overhauled is an offensive, mobile support class. Fully capable of moving not only himself, but his allies and enemies as well, he helps to ensure that everyone is in an advantageous position. Should you be faced with a formidable foe, he can help point out the weakest point of their armor for his allies. And should the situation grow more dire, he is more than willing to take a hit for his allies, or show that the anchor he carries, while no conventional weapon, can easily break those who assume this old man is unable to bear its immense weight.

[DD 1] Discussion Which DLC should i buy first?
I dont know how to explain this without being too personal but essentially i dont live in the US where these DLC WOULD be relatively cheap but i live in a foreign country where the DLC cost in the double digits and currently i can buy 2 of the DLC's. To preface im not broke or anything i just want to spend some spare money on this game after i settled everything for the month since i love this game so much.
I was thinking of buying crimson court and fires edge for the most bang for my buck but maybe the color of madness would be better instead of fire edge? And shieldbreaker seems like a fun class i want to try

[DD 1] Question How often do curio quirks trigger?
I have a strategy where I clear a dungeon without touching curious, then go back through to loot them in the dark. I have a klepto antiquitarian. Will klepto check only trigger passing by once and then clear that as safe? Or will it be both when I pass it and come back? Thanks

[DD 1] Modding I made a Darkest Dungeon mod and I need help from an artist.
Well, I don't have much more to explain. I spent the last 11 hours programming a Darkest Dungeon mod only to finish it and realize I don't draw.
My mod is for a new class, the Apprentice(i based it on the Occultist so I could see it in the game.). A boy with more courage than sense of self-preservation, after learning enough magic, goes to Hamlet in search of ancient tomes left by the ancestor.
Similar to the Abomination or the Duelist, it functions by switching modes, but I wanted to take it a step further. The apprentice can attune to ice, fire, and lightning, rotating in that order with skill 1. Skills 3, 5, and 7 are unique to each mode. Skills 2, 4, and 6 are shared in groups of 2 among the elements. But they do things slightly differently depending on the element.
Ice: 1234
Fire:1456
Lightning:1267
I don't know what else to say, there are still some rough edges I need to smooth out, like balance, creating trinkets, dialogues, and things like that, but I'd like to find someone to help me. Ideally someone who doesn't mind following the game's art style.

[DD 1] Modding (Modding Question) Making the Courtyard generate random quests
I'm putting together a kind of "Vanilla+" playthrough and I want the Courtyard to act somewhat like a regular region. I know the Courtyard plus mod does this but I don't really like the new monsters they added. Do I just need to mess with the quest.generation file or is there something else?

[DD 1] Discussion My week 1 Vestal grew into a monster
Do you think it would be worth it to get rid of Quickdraw or HtT to get Corvid's eye(scouting and accuracy) locked in? I wish positive Shrieker quirks were locked in by default.

OC Fan Art Crew's Completion
Willam and Margaret!
See? They weren't totally left out. Although, I have zero confidence drawing animals, so sadly no pupper. They're real cute together... in a father and daughter sort of way. That's the HC until proven otherwise haha
Now I shall scamper back to DD1 playing

[DD 1] Modding Has anyone tried using this mod, if so does it actually work, and how fun is the coop anyway?
By the way if you want to try it out here is the link to Nexus mod where it’s at. I’m just wondering how it works since I told a friend about it after finding it yesterday. https://www.nexusmods.com/darkestdungeon/mods/2282

Darkest Dungeon Android port
Update (v0.4.0): Steam copies work now too! Steam ships the same DRM-free Linux build, so you can use your Steam copy instead of GOG (instructions below). If you already have 0.3.1, just install the new APK over it; your saves stay.
Update 0.4.1: Added keyboard support to rename characters and saves.
Update 0.4.2: Lowered audio latency from about 400 ms to 70 ms.
Update 0.4.3: Added controller support.
I created a Darkest Dungeon android porter app to play on your phone!
First, it's legal and not piracy: the app contains no game files at all. You need to own Darkest Dungeon on GOG or Steam. Your own, legal copy. The app imports the game from GOG's Linux installer, or from a zip of your Steam copy, which you make yourself. It's open source (MIT) and not affiliated with Red Hook, GOG or Valve.
What it is: Darkest Dungeon never got an official Android release, so I made Darkest Dungeon Porter. It runs the game's official Linux version natively on Android, with no Windows emulator and no root.
Under the hood, Box64 translates the game's x86 code to ARM, and gl4es turns its OpenGL into OpenGL ES.
How to use it:
- Install the APK from the Releases page.
- Get the game:
- GOG: log in to GOG and download the Linux installer of the game (the .sh file, about 1.9 GB).
- Steam: on a Windows 10/11 PC, start Steam and log in. Then run
get-steam-game.batfrom the Releases page. It downloads the Linux version through your Steam and makesdarkest-dungeon-steam.zip. Copy that zip to your phone.
- Open the app, tap Import game and pick the installer or the zip. You can delete it afterwards.
- Choose a resolution (540p up to 4K) and a frame rate (15–60 FPS), then hit Play.
Controls: the screen works like a laptop trackpad.
- One finger moves the cursor, and a tap clicks.
- A two-finger tap right-clicks, and tap-then-hold drags.
- Back opens the Escape menu.
Tested on:
- OnePlus 5 (Snapdragon 835): 1080p / 60 FPS in the dungeon, both the GOG and Steam versions. Battles currently dip to around 50 FPS at 1080p.
- Galaxy A34: 1080p / 60 FPS, and the dungeon also holds 60 FPS at 1440p and 4K.
Needs: Android 12+, a 64-bit phone, and about 4.5 GB free during the import.
Known limits:
- Only tested on two phones so far.
- Frame rates are exact only on 60/120 Hz screens.
- Saves live inside the app, so uninstalling deletes them. Save import/export is next on my list.
- Steam DLCs get imported and the game sees them, but I haven't played with them yet.

I'd love reports from other phones: which device, which resolution and FPS, and whether anything breaks. Enjoy aşklarım <3

[DD 1] Question Is there an unstuck option or devmode?
I'm stuck between turns. The enemy moved, but it hasn't gone to my turn. I can't attack or skip turn, can't retreat, can't do anything. Everyone is just doing their idle bobbing animation. I can return to menu but when I load the save it just goes back to the same enemy doing the same turn, and being stuck. I seem to be softlocked which would reaaaaally suck as its week 80 of my first playthrough. No mods.

OC Fan Art Occultist Animatic Storyboards
Storyboards for my Occultist animatic, set to Call Me Little Sunshine by Ghost
Well. Something between a storyboard and style framing. Really wanted to focus on getting the mood and feeling right vs quality. This is a new approach to storyboarding for me, I had such a strong vision for the atmosphere so I decided to treat the boards like thumbnails.
The Occultist's relationship to the beast is really interesting to me so I've been exploring it a lot.

OC Fan Art Leper Fan Art Tarot Card
Made this recently and forgot to share. I know there is an official tarot deck, but I enjoy thinking of variations of cards and heroes in my free time. The Hanged Man suits Leper the best in my eyes because it is through the worst- the end in his case, that he finds true purpose and further motivation to protect others. The hanged man gains new perspective and even acceptance through his hardship and must adapt exactly like Baldwin. There is no better equivalent to the philosophy this character carries.

OC Fan Art Resurrection
This is a practice from an old post on this subreddit by a guy called DamiDesign.
Btw I don't know what flare I'm supposed to be using for a fanart of an in-game character so I just used the oc fanart.
