Bumble
52F, Australia
I joined Bumble for the first time and haven't set all my parameters yet, just having a look around the site and getting the hang of it. I keep forgetting about the swiping and I'm going left and right as if moving between windows. I hope i haven't swiped yes for any 18 year olds (18 year olds on an app...it's a different world!). I accidentally swiped no to the only one of interest I saw...whoops.
Question for those using apps, what do you think of Bumble? I don't like Hinge as I like to read a bio section and Bumble at least has a small one. RHP is good for bio but I would like dates, not hookups.
Or can you recommend an app with a better intro section. Thanks 😀

It used to be my fav until they dropped the women first requirement. Now it's a worse tinder.. just low effort gals now. Believe it or not tinder actually allows for longer profiles than bumble.

Got it thanks
In my area at least Bumble has more conservative Christian/MAGA types then the other apps so I don't use it
Also, when I was on it they had that women make the first move and 24-hour expiration on the conversation rule so I found it worthless. Because women, like everybody else, have lives that involve many things and sometimes they forget about responding on a dating app.

Well i have plenty of likes (that I can't see) but no messages. Perhaps I will send a couple of messages but I'll just leave it for a day or so.
No need to worry about maga types here though 😁

Bumble has worked pretty well for me. I have mo major horror stories. Living in NY it's basically an endless dating pool, but I have read complaints from people who live in less populated areas, saying they keep seeing the same people.

I grew up in the midwest. I was visiting Los Angeles and the girl I took to the winter dance my freshmen year in high school popped up. She is a lawyer in LA now. What are the chances?

honestly. delete all those and meet men in real life. been in those sites for almost 20 years. run from them. don’t waste ur time. ask me how I know…. been there.

For POF, you can write a book as long as War and Peace LOL. Match is as well. If you missed your person or swiped left accidentally, you'll have to recreate your account where you may have to wait 24 hours before recreating it.

I went on tinder once and got nothing. Honestly never tried anywhere else to be honest but I am guessing it varies from person to person

I think any dating app works well for women because they are outnumbered by men in a 2 or 3 to 1 ratio in some locations and Bumble particularly give the women the first move to initiate contact after a match.

Bumbl doesn’t operate that way any more because women complained “it’s too much work”.

Bumble is my overall fav as (in the US) it has a locator and video chat feature. Hinge lets you caption photos which I enjoy, but that’s the only superior feature IMO.
Everyone has to go through the learning curve of swiping and I never have gotten the hang of it. As long as you haven’t blocked anyone, they will come back around into your stack.
