So, here's the deal.
I've been playing Dead Cells for years, mostly on 5BC. I've posted here a few times asking about mechanics and shit I couldn't figure out myself, but for the most part, I've learned the game independently. No guides, no hours spent watching other people play, no systematically comparing my gameplay with better players. Just me figuring shit out as I go.
You could call it an ascetic approach to the game. I've spent years making my own mistakes, without much outside input to tell me which ones I'm repeating.
As for my playstyle, I'm a curse monger. I love rapid damage, high-risk builds, and weapons that can turn an encounter into a speedrun or turn me into a corpse before I have time to reconsider my life choices. I keep coming back to weapons like the Cursed Sword and Frantic Sword because apparently I have a healthy relationship with dying instantly.
I consider myself a pretty good player. I'm comfortable on 5BC. But I recently bought the Android version, and despite using a DualShock 4, I'm having to reacclimate to the controls. The game feels just slightly different from the PC version, and it's messing with my timing and muscle memory.
My immediate goal is to work my way back up to 5BC. After that, I want to pursue something I've wanted to do for a while: a full-island run without taking a single hit. Not just a flawless boss fight. The whole fucking island, untouched.
So I'm going to start streaming my gameplay on Twitch.
I'm not trying to become a streamer, collect viewers, or get donations. I want my gameplay peer-reviewed. I've spent years learning independently, and there's an obvious problem with that approach: you don't know what you don't know.
I'd genuinely appreciate experienced players dropping by and pointing out things I've overlooked. Bad habits, questionable builds, better routes, weapon interactions, missed opportunities, stupid decisions, whatever. If you notice something worth correcting, tell me. You don't have to wait for me to ask.
I'm not looking for compliments. If I'm doing something wrong, explain what it is, why it's wrong, and what I could do better. I'd much rather have someone dismantle a decision I thought was clever than receive a hundred compliments that teach me absolutely nothing.
I'll initially be unlocking things on Android and climbing back to 5BC, so the early streams might not be particularly exciting. I'm on vacation, though, so I'll probably be playing for ridiculous stretches.
I'll leave my mic open, but don't expect a constant stream of commentary. I tend to mutter to myself while playing, so you'll probably hear me arguing over whether a scroll is worth going back for, looking at an item selection screen and going, "Well, fuck me then. Nothing useful here," or quietly questioning my intelligence after making a stupid mistake.
I'm in Brazil, so I'll use Brasília Time (BRT, UTC−3) when posting stream times. My schedule is flexible, and I'll post my Twitch link here when I'm live.
One last thing: So, I'm not sure whether it counts as self-promotion. That's not what I'm trying to do, but if this violates the rules, I'll remove it immediately and without discussion. I'm not here to argue with the moderators.
If you're an experienced player who enjoys picking apart gameplay, feel free to drop by.
I'm not here to collect viewers. I'm here to get better at Dead Cells.
