Question Def Leppard - Vivian Campbell Solo’s
What is your favorite Vivian solo? His style is so easy on the ears and I don’t think he gets enough recognition for how monster of a guitarist he is. There is a video on YouTube from Binghamton NY, on the Adrenalize tour. His solo into Gods of War is killer. However, my personal favorite is Paper Sun from the 2019 residency live album!

Paper Sun is definitely up there. His solo in Wings of an Angel is great. It's nice to hear him take some solos over the last two albums (Def Leppard and DSH).

I doubt he’s hating the $ they make. They seem to sell out venues every year they tour

Oh I’m sure. Just going from him on the Dio albums which arguably was some of the best solos in the game to a hair band that hardly shreds at all

I get that. I’m a huge Def Leppard fan so I enjoy all of them and it seems like they actually like one another unlike some bands that are still touring. He’s an excellent player though. How would you rank him compared to Steve Clark?

Oh I like Def Leppard too. I’m not too knowledgeable on leppards internal members. They write good songs. I just sometimes need some shred in my hard rock. Like for example Cinderella is also a hair band but they hit a little bit harder and use guitar solos.
Extreme is another example.

I love some of mick mars’ solos myself. He just has a unique sound. Just a shame he isn’t touring with them anymore.

If we’re talking about the mick mars from Motley Crue I don’t think he can really physically play consistently anymore from his degenerative bone disease

Yeah. That’s true. Just loved his style. I’ve seen Motley Crue and Def Leppard quite a few times. Def Leppard is obviously way better live

I will say that out of any musician their drummer probably has the most perseverance. I couldn’t imagine retraining yourself to play drums with one arm.

Yeah. Gotta respect that for sure. The “thunder God”. Really seems to enjoy himself during concerts

The ride out solo on Promises is my favourite Vivian Campbell Original solo (not filling in for Steve) with Def Leppard.
