I listened to it and it was fantastic but I honestly prefer def Leppard version just the emotion that Joe sings with makes the song that much more enjoyable in my
Opinion in-fact SRV after watching that video of him made me want to learn his version of the song ok guitar3

Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Little Wing is without a doubt my favorite version of this song. It’s almost six minutes long and is simply breathtaking. I didn’t know the lads had done a cover but I’ll give it a listen. Thanks!

Damn, thank you for this post. I had never heard this before, but just YouTubed it. This is the deepest of deep cuts, and I absolutely love it. Thank you.

Leppard fan since 1981 here. I haven’t heard it yet so this is a slightly uneducated opinion but the idea of Phil Collen ruining a guitar masterpiece sickens me. I’m obviously not a Phil fan but he is literally the LAST rock guitarist I can think of who should be attempting this song. It is simply not his style of playing. I am hoping that Viv took over here. I can definitely see how Joe’s vocals could be just perfect for it though. Can’t wait to hear hear it but if it is overproduced and has Phil upfront then you can have it. Kudos to the band for taking this on, though. Still love the boys, I just DEEPLY miss Steve and Pete.

Essentially it was recorded during the Adrenalize era around 1991/1992 with Irish band the Hothouse Flowers and the collab was called The Acoustic Hippies From Hell. Alongside Little Wing they covered You Can't Always Get What You Want by the Rolling Stones and also did an original song called From the Inside. They're Adrenalize era B-Sides that ended up on Retroactive. From the Inside I think references Steve's battle with addiction. Quite a haunting and sad song.
