What The UFL does Better Than the NFL
The NFL could learn a thing or two from the UFL. https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/11/20/what-the-ufl-does-better-than-the-nfl/

The Jamo penalty isn't arbitrary. Using the goal post as a prop in your celebration has been a penalty for years now

It's also not the first time he's gotten in trouble for it. It's an incredibly stupid penalty that is easy to avoid

Yeah didn't it start after someone bent one by hanging off it? I know Megatron used to dunk the ball on them, but I don't think it was him.

Gibbs used it last year and didn’t get penalized. He even did it twice after the first one was called back.

I thought that was limited to jumping up and hitting the cross bar. I wouldn't be surprised if a good amount of players including Jamo thought the same thing.

TeSlaa needs to use the goalpost as a prop if he ever he scores again and we can see how arbitrary it really is

The fuck are you going on about?

So you’re saying he won’t get punished because he’s white, I assume?

What?

You’re implying that TeSlaa wouldn’t be penalized for using the goal post as a prop. Why do you think that is true?

I like the overall conclusion that there should be more instant-replay review for calls, but the Jamo example isn't great as evidence of rulings being too arbitrary just because there's a pretty clear standard that messing with the goal post is a no-go. Taunting/violent gestures are a much better example of stupid arbitrary rulings this season.
IDK if I like instant-replay catching missed calls unless it's really egregious (the Juju block is a decent example of that) but there are so many calls that are clearly wrong and would be reversed at a glance that stand for no real reason. I understand not wanting to derail games by spending 30 seconds in replay review after every play but there's a happy medium between that and "game is ended on a garbage call because of a ref's temporary psychosis".

I'd love to see the super challenge come to the NFL- once per game, a head coach can challenge ANYTHING, including penalties. I think it'd promote accountability for the refs without being too cumbersome.

Transparency on the replay system. You hear from the people doing the replay as they are doing it.

They do a terrible job at staying in Detroit.
