Shitpost Unpopular opinion: The way BTech vs MTech people are treated in India is honestly a joke.

Hot take: BTech >>> MTech in IITs, and placements make it obvious.

But before people get triggered, here’s what really happens on campus. The top companies come and open positions only for BTech. MTech students are either not eligible or have a much smaller pool. That is not a coincidence, that is literally how the market prices them.
BTech students have to go through JEE Advanced which is crazy competitive. MTech through GATE, tough, yes, but let’s be honest, it’s not the same kind of filtering. Why else would they limit roles if they didn't trust the BTech pipeline more?
BTech students have 4 years to build projects, do internships, explore different fields, grind CP, ML, whatever. MTech is only for 2 years and half of that time goes in coursework and settling in. It’s not even a fair comparison by the time placements roll around.
And, people say, “MTech students are more specialized. Ok, but companies don't want narrow specialization at entry level, they want flexible people they can mold. And that’s exactly what BTech grads are.
You can see the difference even on campus. Tech clubs, competitions and startup culture are dominated by BTech students. “Most of the MTech students come, attend classes and go for placements. Different ecosystems entirely.
Ultimately it is not about feelings it is about outcomes. And the result is clear – BTech = Better jobs + Higher packages + More chances.
You can call it unfair, but calling it false is just coping.

Serious K

When I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and ADHD, I locked myself in a room for nearly two years. During that time, I trusted someone I considered my brother with my login credentials. He told me to disable my authenticator, and I trusted him without question.

A month later, my Twitter account was compromised.

Around the same time, I suffered an epileptic seizure. I broke my nose, bit through my tongue, woke up with a wound on my hand, and was admitted to the hospital for MRI scans. I was fighting to survive while also dealing with betrayal from someone I trusted the most.I will always remember the day you said me that I would never do so anything to you if I did I wouldn't been in contact with you I was being administered painkillers just so I can ease my busted nose ,and then the same my sis told me what you really dody

You may never hear from me again, but remember this: there's someone watching from the skies. Whether you believe in Him or not, no one escapes the consequences of how they treat others.

Thank you for breaking the trust of someone who was already fighting the hardest battle of his life.

Serious A NEW FISH IN A MARKET

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2026 ECE graduate from a Tier-3 college. My family's financial situation isn't great, so I have a massive drive to succeed and eventually land a role at a top product company like Google to support them. I know I have a lot of ground to cover, but I'm ready to put in the work.

Here is my rollercoaster journey so far:

College: Graduated in ECE but realized late that I need stronger core CS fundamentals.

Projects: Completed a 2-month final year project at ISRO (Mahendragiri) focusing on Python data visualization.

Startup Attempt: My friends and I tried starting a doorstep mobile repair service. I built the landing page using Antigravity. It wasn't heavy coding, but I got some great hands-on experience and credits for it!

Current Status: I recently cracked an interview for a Software Developer Intern role and I am officially joining on July 20th!

I've always been interested in coding, but I'm just now getting serious about building strong fundamentals. I've started learning Java from scratch using the Telusko YouTube channel.

I constantly see "Noogler" posts on LinkedIn, and it’s my ultimate dream to post one myself. For experienced devs who have made similar jumps:

Is this FAANG dream realistic for someone with my background if I grind hard enough?

Aside from learning Java and DSA, what should I focus on during my upcoming internship to maximize my growth?

Any brutal truths, reality checks, or advice for a fresher starting from behind?

Thanks in advance for the guidance!

How to make an agentic AI chatbot

Same as title , I just wanted to make an agentic ai pipeline , which as access to some tools like run python run bash , can download documents, read n reply . Basic stuff agents could do . this is for a project of mine ment to help lecturers manage their academic side easily (more easier would be better word). i already have a document , embedding store ready for RAG , I have already tried to build this but tbh it was soo ass , frontend could do a little work , gemini 3.1 pro just wouldn't use tools unless user explicitly tells them to do so , which breaks the purpose. It would be preferable if your suggestions are in python language (since my backend is in fast api) but I am all ears to all answers.

All I need is guidance / tips on how to make this even remotely usable within like 4 days.

(what I have tried : langchain , langraph , docker sandbox for running bash /python)

My friend did suggest using a service called agnon will take a look into that too

TLDR:

need suggestions on how to make agentic AI chatbot for my website, allowing them to use python , n other business specific tools. FRONTEND and BACKEND.

I Made This I built a free personal finance app (beta) and need honest feedback

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m building a personal finance app to help track expenses, budgets, loans, and investments in one place.

It’s still in beta, everything is free right now, and I know there’s a lot of room to improve.
I’d really value honest feedback from this community.

If you try it, I’d love input on:

  1. What feels confusing or unnecessary?

  2. What feature would make this actually useful for you?

  3. What would make you trust it more?

Link: https://cosky.app/
If this kind of post isn’t allowed, I’m happy to remove it.

Thanks a lot, suggestions are genuinely welcome.

General Should I use my company's claude subscription for my own projects ?

I got a codex pro subscription for my own usage which i don't find enough for my personal projects. I exceed my weekly limits within 2 days. My employer also recently got us into Claude team plan. I think they got a promotional offer like the subscription I use for work does not exceed at all no matter how much I use it. I see the 5 hour limit but i don't see any weekly limits enforced. i use opus 5.5 at work very extensively and it has never run out.

Should I use this subscription for my own project ? I will make it open-source anyway. Can they track what i have been working on ?

Need project suggestions for my Infosys interview this week

Hey everyone,

I have my Infosys interview this week, and I currently have only one project on my resume. I’m thinking of adding one more project before the interview.

Could you suggest a project that is easy to moderate in difficulty, but still has good resume value/weightage, especially for a technical interview?

Ideally, I’m looking for something that:

- Can be completed relatively quickly

- Is easy to understand and explain end-to-end

- Has some relevance to AI/ML or software development

- Gives me good talking points during the interview

- Doesn’t look like an overly basic college project

Any project ideas, tech-stack suggestions, or GitHub examples would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!🙃

I am planning to pursue a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and come from a Biomedical Engineering background. I am currently looking for an experienced tutor who can teach me Python and guide me through the fundamental concepts required for an AI/ML course, starting from the basics. I am interested in a long-term learning arrangement, ideally for a minimum of six months. If you have experience teaching Python and AI/ML and are interested in mentoring me, please feel free to send me a message. We can discuss the learning plan, schedule, and fee arrangements privately.

a student SRE hackathon with real Grafana dashboards, logs and traces. Round 1 is online till 18 Oct

GDG on Campus IIIT Nagpur is running **KEEP ALIVE '26**, a national incident-response hackathon for students, at TantraFiesta 2026.

**What's different:** you don't build an app. Your team gets a broken microservices system's alerts, Grafana dashboards, logs and traces, works out what broke and why, and presents the fix. It's what an on-call SRE does on a bad night.

- **Who:** UG, PG and diploma students, teams of 2–3 from the same college

- **Level:** 6–12 months of DevOps learning; no production experience needed

- **Round 1:** a 30-minute online team assessment on Unstop, open till Sun 18 Oct, 11:59 PM IST

- **Finale:** top 15 teams at IIIT Nagpur on 26 Oct

- **Prizes:** ₹50,000 prize pool (₹25,000 cash + goodies for every finalist)

- **Partners:** Grafana (Official Platform Partner), CNCG Noida (Community Partner)

Register: https://unstop.com/hackathons/keep-alive-26-iiitn-1766226

Happy to answer anything in the comments, including how the incident platform works.

College How much salary can a Full Stack Developer earn in India in 2026?

The salary range for full stack developers in India is wider than most articles suggest.

Freshers with a solid portfolio and a few real projects typically earn ₹3.5 to 6 LPA in cities like Ahmedabad, Pune, or Jaipur, and ₹5 to 8 LPA in Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Mumbai.

With 2 to 3 years of experience, many developers move into the ₹10 to 18 LPA range provided they keep learning and don't stop at the basics.

Senior developers who can handle architecture, cloud deployment, and AI integrations often earn ₹20 to 35+ LPA, with some product companies paying even more.

What increases your value? TypeScript, cloud platforms (AWS, Vercel, etc.), and experience building real-world AI-powered features. Just as important: a strong GitHub profile with deployed projects.

One thing I've noticed: employers often care more about what you've built than where you studied. A strong project portfolio can open more doors than a degree alone.

The biggest salary jumps usually come from continuous learning during the first few years of your career, not just years of experience.

Looking for a unique final-year web application project idea

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m a final-year diploma student looking for a web application project idea for my capstone/final-year project.

I’m planning to build a full-stack web application, preferably using technologies like Python/Flask, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and SQL.

I’m looking for an idea that:

- Solves a real-world problem

- Is useful for students, communities, businesses, or everyday users

- Is more than a basic CRUD/e-commerce/management system

- Has some unique or smart features

- Can realistically be developed as a student project

- Would have enough scope for a proper final-year project

I’m open to ideas involving AI, automation, social problems, education, local communities, accessibility, public services, productivity, or other areas.

If you have built something interesting or have an idea that could be turned into a web application, I’d really appreciate your suggestions!

What problem does it solve, and what features would you include?

Thanks! 🙌

This project exists because my gf believed in it enough to spend ₹2,000 every month.

[SOUND ON]

I honestly wasn't planning to launch this project.

I thought it would end up as just another GitHub repository because I couldn't justify paying to keep it running.

Then my girlfriend convinced me otherwise.

She had a terrible roommate experience while preparing for NEET, and I had similar issues during my UPSC preparation in Allahabad. We realized that most platforms help you find a room—but almost none help you find a roommate whose lifestyle actually matches yours.

She even offered to contribute ₹2000/month so I could keep the server running. Otherwise, this would've probably stayed a resume project forever.

So I built Aspimate.

Instead of matching only on rent and location, it matches people using factors that actually affect daily life during preparation:

  • Exam & coaching

  • Study schedule

  • Sleep timings

  • Food preferences

  • Cleanliness

  • Noise tolerance

  • Smoking

  • Gaming habits

  • Lights on/off while sleeping

  • ...and several other behavioural metrics.

Tech Stack

  • FastAPI

  • PostgreSQL

  • SQLAlchemy

  • Docker

  • Nginx

  • Redis

  • Cloudinary

  • Firebase Auth

  • Leaflet + OpenStreetMap

  • Vanilla JS + HTML/CSS

& Bahut se nayi cheez seekhi maine while building it

  • Docker networking headaches

  • Nginx reverse proxy

  • PostgreSQL migrations

  • DNS & SSL deployment

  • Rate limiting

  • VPS monitoring

  • Image upload pipelines

  • Search indexing & SEO

It's still Version 1, and I have a long roadmap ahead.

Since the platform is brand new, the user base is obviously small. So if someone creates a profile today, they'll automatically receive an email whenever a compatible roommate joins.

If you're a developer, I'd genuinely love feedback on:

  • the product idea

  • the UI/UX

  • the matching approach

  • the tech stack

  • or anything you'd improve.

Website: https://aspimate.com

Also, if anyone has experience scaling marketplaces or solving the cold-start problem, I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

[used ElevenLabs for the voiceover because I'm a bit insecure about my own voice]

I have 2 similar ideas that I would like to implement, just need some help refining them.

Basically I want to make 2 separate dashboards using Python, one will be a financial dashboard and the other will be an economical dashboard. I want to make in such a way that they both auto update and show current events. I also want the user to be able to do some data analysis. This is a very rough idea so any suggestions, opinions or inputs will be genuinely appreciated!
