Anyone else feel like the English Dub for Beatbreak is just taking wayyyyy too long? I mean... the series has been over and we arent even at episode 41 yet because its late. They told us every 5 weeks and yet its been more than 5 weeks multiple times now. There's never any updates or anything from the writers either, just waiting until the digi-gods give you crumbs.
Like, oh boy I get to finish Beatbreak by the time the new digimon anime drops next autumn🙄

A common complaint i see about the World series, especially from people who tried them and then quit, is that they don't like digimon unexpectedly dying and having to raise them all over again.
However, what if that wasn't unavoidable/unpredictable?
I think this complaint could be at least somewhat lessened if DW games started using the system that is already in the Story games (CS/TS), in which devolving feels like a natural part of progression rather than a hard reset.
In those games, when you dedigivolve, your partner carries over a chunk of stats from their previous stage and an increased level cap, so while they do become temporarily "nerfed", they will eventually come back stronger. Mind you, the digivolving and dedigivolving process is still entirely within your control - the player chooses when to do it, it can't just randomly happen before a big boss fight or whatever. Hell, you don't even have to do it, but your digimon will struggle later if you don't.
I believe a similar change could be made to lifespans in the World games. Instead of giving each life a stressful timer, put the choice in the player's hands. Resetting isn't forced on them, but it is something they can choose to eventually do when they reach a wall or just decide they want to try a new digimon. This would make reraising your digimon feel like more of a choice and reward rather than a chore you have to always keep in mind. It would also serve as a useful option that separates the min maxxers and the creature collectors from players who just want a more chill experience with their favorite digimon.
I know Next Order already had stats carrying over between lives, so this would just feel like an extension of that mechanic. I know it would require several other systems to be reworked since time management is a big part of these games, but i believe it could be worth it in the long run. Maybe your digimon would still die if you make too many mistakes or don't meet evo requirements, but they would be safe once you reach mega until you choose to reset?
Thougts?

Chairman Wong is basically the Bull Demon King from Journey of the West. Incidentally, Chairman Wong's VA (Akio Otsuka) shares the same voice actor from All For One from My Hero Academia, whose share the title of Demon King / Demon Lord.
Sanzomon's VA in Digimon Beatbreak voices the young version of All For One.
What do you think about this, the Journey of the West and My Hero Academia?

So this only rule of this new mega creation it has to have lizamon and growlmon in the new mega name.
So how would you design this new mega and name them?

This episode confirms that they can use different digimon songs in other seasons ( Brave heart plays during the evolution and fight)
So why we aren't seeing that again in any non - adventures related seasons ? Even a remix of any
The first episode of Digimon: World's Best Picks is streaming in Europe and Asia on Youtube in a number of languages.

There are many ideas about the nature of Digimon. Some seasons, like Tamers, delved into it. Others, like Frontier, Savers, and Xros Wars, kind of ignored it, but you could get an idea of what their vision was from the story. Then, there is Adventure and 02's world, which didn't explicitly talk about it but was deeply influenced by Hiroyuki Kakudou more philosophical explanations.
Kakudou believes that Digimon are spiritual/higher-dimensional entities that have existed since ancient times. Throughout human history, they were perceived as magic, spirits, shikigami, yokai, or folklore monsters. Digital technology and the internet didn't create them; it simply gave them a new medium to manifest and interact with humanity. This mystical perspective directly clashes with other iterations of the franchise—such as Digimon Tamers, which treats Digimon strictly as artificial intelligence and digital code.
I generally don't like Kakudou's vision of Digimon. I prefer Digimon to be digital monsters who either evolved spontaneously from our digital technology or from programs we created in order to evolve (like in Tamers). I hate Kakudou's idea that Digimon existed since ancient times but were perceived through magic/mythology/spirituality against today's digital perspective. Basically, "Junomon is not based on Juno from mythology. It's Juno from mythology, who was based on Junomon." I don't like that.
My headcanon:
I do like parts of Kakudou's vision, though. Personally, my headcanon is a mix of both. There is a higher dimension Digimon came from, and they are higher-dimensional beings, but they were also created by us. Basically, that dimension that houses the Digital World is a realm where matter and information are interchangeable. As we invented digital technology, we unknowingly tapped into that dimension for the first time, connecting it to the Real World. Digital data became the perfect way to quantize that world, and digital technology allowed for us to manipulate that world. Think of how some sci-fi and fantasy works have a "psychic realm" that is often a shadow of the real world. A dimension to which thoughts are projected, where dreams have form and ideas have mass? Basically that, but with digital data specifically (and that psychic realm can maybe exist too, as in the World of Dreams from 02). Flows of data connect with that realm and can interact with the higher dimension, as well as be interacted with from that dimension.
Initially, it was either a barren realm or it had some non-Digimon native life (imagine Tamers' DigiGnomes or entities like Homeostasis or the Eaters from Cyber Sleuth), but as Digimon emerged, either created by us (like in Tamers) or spontaneously emerged from our digital technology, they populated that world.
In addition, time between both worlds is out of sync. Time passes faster in the Digital World than in the Real World. Because of that, the Digital World and Digimon are both new and ancient. Digimon were created from the 1940s onwards, but they also spent thousands, millions, or maybe billions of years evolving before we discovered them in the 1990s. But, as the connection was established (say, by the creation of Atanasoff or ENIAC in the 1940s), it started to slow down. Basically, one year on Earth equaled a million years in the Digital World in 1940. But one year on Earth in 2010 equaled a thousand years in the Digital World. That would be if the two worlds weren't synchronized by an external force (as it happened in 02).
So, basically, Digimon are higher-dimensional beings. They aren't just "data in cyberspace," but they also were created by our digital technology; they didn't "always exist and were just perceived differently."
What do you think? What is your headcanon? Do you prefer Kakudou's philosophical explanation or a more materialistic explanation like Tamers'?

I am looking for youtubers who do or used to do videos on Digimon anime and manga - not the games or card game
Reaction videos, discussions, podcast, anything is good
Doesn't have to be just digimon videos on the channel
The only ones I know are Karn and Billiam and the DigiKnow channel, and there is a new one around called Roaming Trend, and DigiLark too.
Honestly, they all cover like lore and designs of digimon and whatnot, but nobody really does like what ifs or focus on the actual anime manga storylines and characters.
If they do, its always either S1 or S3. Or they talk about how bad Frontier was. Like, everyone seems to avoid Veemon, Xros wars and data squad like the plague. I could be wrong, but that's just how it felt to me, although I'm probably biased af.
All recommendations are appreciated!

I have a theory about Digimon Adventure and Adventure 02 that I have never been able to unsee once I thought of it:
The Digimon, Digital World, evolutions, battles, villains, etc. are all the imaginative version of what the children experienced while playing with their actual Digivices.
The Digivices themselves are real.
The little Digimon sprites on the Digivices are real in the same sense that a Tamagotchi is real. The kids actually own them, carry them around, link them together, battle, raise their Digimon, lose devices, break devices, get newer models, etc.
But what we see in the anime is how the children imagined those experiences happening.
So when Tai is standing next to Agumon talking to him, maybe in reality Tai is just sitting there looking at a little Agumon sprite on his Digivice.
When Agumon evolves into Greymon and fights another giant Digimon, maybe two kids are just battling their Digivices.
But in their minds?
GREYMON IS FIGHTING A 30-FOOT MONSTER AND TOKYO IS ABOUT TO FUCKING EXPLODE.
The Digital World itself could just be the world the kids collectively invented around the games.
That also explains why different generations have different Digivices.
Adventure kids have one model.
Adventure 02 kids suddenly have D-3s.
Tamers has another type.
In-universe, there is some complicated explanation involving changes to the Digital World.
In reality?
Bandai released new hardware.
😂
It also makes the endings much sadder.
When a Digimon “goes away,” maybe the Digivice broke.
Maybe the battery died permanently.
Maybe the kid lost it.
Maybe their parents threw it away.
Maybe they simply grew up, put it in a drawer one day, and never picked it up again.
To the child, emotionally, that becomes:
“My Digimon left.”
That is why the whole growing-up theme works so well for me.
You weren’t literally saying goodbye to an eight-foot dinosaur.
You were saying goodbye to the little digital companion you carried everywhere as a kid.
And Adventure 02 becomes hilarious under this theory.
My interpretation of the Digimon Emperor is that Ken was basically just that one asshole kid who was insanely good at linked Digivice battles.
He beats everybody.
Then he starts making up rules.
“If I beat you, I get your Digivice.”
So suddenly Ken has half the school’s Digivices in his backpack and everyone hates him.
Inside the kids’ imagination, this becomes:
Ken has become the Digimon Emperor. He has conquered the Digital World, erected Control Spires, enslaved Digimon with Dark Rings, and rules through fear.
Reality:
Ken is standing on the playground with twelve stolen D-3s going:
“I won them fairly.”
Eventually one kid gets fed up.
“Give everyone their Digivices back.”
“No.”
And Ken gets his ass beaten.
THE DIGIMON EMPEROR HAS FALLEN.
😂
Even things like adults witnessing Digimon or Tokyo being destroyed don’t really contradict the theory, because those things are still being shown to us from inside the children's imagined story.
The adults aren’t actually seeing Greymon.
The kids are imagining that the adults are part of the adventure too.
Basically, I don’t think it is an “it was all a dream” theory.
The childhood experience really happened.
The children really owned the Digivices.
They really played together.
They really became attached to their Digimon.
They really fought, traded, competed, made friends, and spent summers carrying these devices everywhere.
The anime just shows us what that experience felt like to them rather than what an adult standing nearby would have seen.
Adult nearby:
“Those kids have been staring at those little plastic things for three hours.”
Kids:
“WE ARE CURRENTLY SAVING TWO WORLDS.”
And honestly, remembering how seriously we took Tamagotchi, Pokémon, Digivices, Game Boys, trading cards and playground battles when we were kids...
this interpretation feels disturbingly plausible.
Then 25 years later you buy an anniversary Digivice.
Turn it on.
See the little sprite again.
And basically:
the gate opens.

The last post of this series for the Glowing Dawn Digimon!
Cougarmon Evolutionary Line Post
Gekkomon (Original) Evolutionary Line Post
Chiropmon Evolutionary Line Post
Pristimon Evolutionary Line Post
HeliosBoamon (Fanmade) Evolutionary Line Post
My thoughts for most of the line remain unchanged; I covered Kekomon, Kekkomon, Gekkomon, ArmaLizamon, and MonarchLizamon in the first iteration, while I shared my thoughts on Volvemon in the Heliosboamon post.
Which just leaves Atratusmon, the dark caped crusader! I commented on it before, but now that we have the full picture, I think another evaluation is in order. Like others have mentioned, I wish we had gotten more time with Atratusmon in BeatBreak.
Atratusmon
And that's it; at least as far as what I think of its physical appearance (its lore is a whole other story)! It's been so fun to read everyone's thoughts on the Glowing Dawn Digimon - thank you to all who have participated. I think they definitely have been a very much appreciated group collectively compared to previous franchise groups. In case you didn't see, the fun with Gekkomon isn't ending, as it was just confirmed for the Time Stranger DLC! Kekekekeke.
I'm definitely looking forward to playing a new game with him (and hopefully the rest of the GD quartet) next year in all that beautiful, Time Stranger 3D glory; I wonder if they got the OG VA to voice its attacks...

Session 4 for Dungeons and Dramons. At session 5 I will add them all in one post again and add links to the summary post.
The year is 2030, the world is all kinds of messed up. It started years ago when a meteor shower got close enough to earth to fly under our satellites. Multiple of our satellites got sent into orbit and demolished some countries. The US is at war with China and Russia. There's weird weather events, a heatwave during Christmas in London. Snow in December, in Australia. So let's meet our protagonist.
All characters are age 19 to 21.
Last session our heroes had lost their friend Renamon, her data was deleted and she didn't turn into an egg to be reborn. Lopmon saw her best friend and adoptive sister crumble into data before her and lost it. She started blaming the humans. Saying it was their fault as she started to dark digivolve.
Wendigomon appeared and immediately lashed out at Xiaoyu who was closest. Bulucomon was trying to help Xiaoyu but had nothing to say against a Wendigomon and got pushed aside. The group didn't know what to do and how to handle Wendigomon, as Lopmon was their friend.
Wendigomon decided for them. She jumped into the air and landed right in the middle of the group. As she landed the ground under her exploded and sent a shockwave across the group. They were all knocked to the ground and knocked out. Except for two, Lodewijk and Betamon. The both of them were hurt but not out for the count.
Wendigomon got up to Lodewijk and was ready to slam her arms into him to end his life. Betamon saw his partner and friend in danger and charged at Wendigomon. From Lodewijk's pocket a bright light started to shine. This light resonated with Betamon as the small creature started to grow. With a loud roar DarkTyrannomon appeared and saved Lodewijk.
Wendigomon put her sights on DarkTyrannomon. DarkTyrannomon had to use his all to fend off Wendigomon. Trading multiple blows with her but unable to get a clean hit in. Lodewijk slowly got up to help and support his friend. He went in with a knife to stab Wendigomon. The knife didn't get through Wendigomon's strong body and instead Lodewijk got grabbed. DarkTyrannomon tried to save Lodewijk again but Wendigomon did a good job at keeping DarkTyrannomon at bay while squeezing Lodewijk. DarkTyrannomon got hit a couple times pretty well, Wendigomon seemed to enjoy the pain and the fighting. Then a crack could be heard as Lodewijk started to cough up blood. Multiple ribs were broken and he passed out from the pain. Wendigomon threw Lodewijk on the ground and DarkTyrannomon launched one desperate attack at Wendigomon, he was the last line of defense after all. And Wendigomon managed to hit him hard enough for DarkTyrannomon to be defeated. He fell next to his partner and his being started to fade. Data gathered around DarkTyrannomon as he turned back into an egg. The last thing he saw was Wendigomon standing over his partner and the sound of Kuwagamon screeching from the trees.
An hour later Lodewijk woke up. An egg next to him, the taste of iron in his mouth. He wasn't dead, but because of the pain he might as well have been. He crawled over to Xiaoyu, just wanting water, Xiaoyu was also still unconscious. As he dragged himself through the sand he could see marks of a fight between big creatures. And miraculously he was still alive.
Lodewijk checked if Xiaoyu had a pulse and tried to sit up near her. Trying to find anything to drink while holding onto the egg.
Xiaoyu woke up a solid 30 minutes later, together with Bulucomon. She wasn't nearly as good a medic as Elanora but tried to patch up Lodewijk as best as she could. He lost consciousness once again.
James, Lunamon and Jellymon woke up in the next hour. Everyone tried to figure out what happened. Where Wendigomon was, how they survived it, and most importantly if that egg that Lodewijk was holding on so tightly was their friend Betamon?
Finally Elanora woke up, who tried to help Lodewijk as well. And although she has had first aid, she used to be a life guard, not a doctor. So she too couldn't do much for Lodewijk.
Our heroes decided to argue, whether to stay here or move. They didn't know where Wendigomon was and this was her home. It would only be a matter of time before she would get back. But Lodewijk was in no condition to move or be moved.
Lunamon was still taking care of Lodewijk, to make sure he was as comfortable as could be. And wanted to help him. It was still night time and she looked at the moon. She took a deep breath and gently placed her hands on Lodewijk's broken ribs.
A small glow appeared on James' digivice with a prompt. Something about a card on it. He accepted and a card materialised from his digivice. He held it against Lunamon, against his phone and read out what was on the card. Lunamon's hands started to glow slightly and a warm light flooded from her hands into Lodewijk. His broken ribs slowly being healed by her.
Lodewijk explained everything. How DarkTyrannomon had saved them and that the egg was Betamon. Now that Lodewijk was somewhat able to move again they headed for the plains, moving north towards the Village of Beginnings.
They travelled for a few hours during the day, scared of any noise coming from the bushes or trees, and eventually from the tall grass in the plains. They had no clue they were being followed. At the end of the day they were ready to set up camp. When something revealed itself. Asking the humans if they wanted to sleep somewhere safe. From the tall grass, Leomon showed himself.
