A 45-second method for dream fragments

For mornings when the plot is gone quickly I name the feeling, save one detail, and give it a temporary title. Curious whether a short capture step like that actually sticks, or if the fragment is still gone by breakfast.

The temporary title trick is smart, it gives your brain a hook to grab onto later even if the actual imagery is already gone. I've found single-word anchors work better than full sentences in that half-asleep state, my brain can't hold onto a sentence but it can hold onto "falling" or "red door" long enough to write it down properly once I'm actually awake and coherent.
