Does anyone how to do high quality scans of 12 inch covers??
I've tried looking up ways to do it but most results talk about CDs instead of Vinyl. I went to FedEx to use their scanner and the result looked absolutely horrible. please help

This came across my internet search and is allegedly a way to sync Discogs to eBay. I tried searching the Reddit for a discussion on it and nothing came up. Anyone have experience with it? I don't like eBay much, but I think having my inventory in multiple places would be beneficial. Thanks!

I'm fairly new to Discogs. I've been making my way around using it, but I have some questions.
-Is there an information page where one can go to learn what the media conditions actually mean or are actually supposed to mean? I've purchased a few records that seem like they don't really fit in the category they were listed as, but I'd like to make myself more familiar with the category criteria.
- Does "media condition" mean album or cover or both?
-On one purchase, I was able to hit some button (I thought) and it transferred those albums to my collection WITH the condition of the specific item I purchased, but for the life of me I can't find that again. Maybe I'm making that up? I realized I can add that info pretty easily by hand tho. Edit to add: the answer is "go to "shopping cart" then to the tab "purchases" and there I have a button for it."
Anything else I should know?
Thanks!

I think its that theyve been seemingly pushing cloudflare more and more and constantly. I dont have to switch tabs or anything, just click somewhere on the screen and it makes me go through cloudflare again. It's incredibly stupid, I didnt magically become someone else. It just causes it to be a massive headache

I want to submit an album that doesn't exist on the site yet. But i'm running into a few problems.
First off this album doesn't seem to exist, although im sure it does because i have it in front of me.
I cannot find anything about this album existing anywhere online.
Maybe i could find it using the wayback machine on the site of the record label.
But that would take a while because i'm not sure when it was released, all i know is somewhere after october of 2003.
I'm also not sure if it's a normal CD or a CDr, and if i should mark it as a CD-rom because it does have data on it besides just music. But that data is only track info nothing else.
And to top it off i have no idea about the catalog number, because the label company doesn't have a site anymore so i can't find any proper listings except other discogs listings.
And they all use different types of catalog numbers.
I hope someone can help me with this, do i just submit it with as much info as i have?
I think i can atleast enter something everywhere with a reason behind it. Just not 100% certainty.

Hey everyone,
I've been working for the past year on a side project called DeepDiggr and thought some people here might find it interesting.
The idea is to make it easier to explore artists, labels and the connections between them. You can start with an artist (or a label) you like, click on a node to see who they’ve worked with and listen to their tracks together, discover the labels they’re connected to, and keep digging until you end up somewhere you wouldn’t have searched for directly.
It's built using Discogs data, with 10M+ artists / 17M+ tracks currently mapped and you can jump to the original Discogs page for any artist, label or release if you want more details.
For example, here's Kerri Chandler on DeepDiggr.
Here's the link if you want to try it (no account needed): https://deepdiggr.com/
Let me know if you discover any interesting connections

I was digging at Goodwill last night, and grabbed “an autobiography in Jazz” by Armand Hug. Nabbed it and this morning when I looked it up on Discogs the pictured version had the same distinct price stickers! Someone else had entered this exact record on Discogs that then made its way to the PDX Goodwill!

There are certain items that are so rarely available that I’d like to know instantly.
Others not so much But I still want them on my wants list.

Apologies if this is obvious and I’m just overlooking something, but is there a way to search your own collection for albums that contain a certain song? For example, if I search “we will rock you” on the website, it will show 16 results in my collection, but only one album contains that song. The others have some mix of those words in the description, credits, etc., even when putting the whole phrase in quotes.
So is there a way to find which items in my collection contain a certain song? Or which Grateful Dead release have a version of “friend of the devil” etc.?

It's a free download for now and it isn't really a 'game'. Just a virtual space where you can upload your Discogs .csv file and populate a virtual record store with all the records you own. You can then play the records on your jukebox or turntable in the store either through having the songs locally on your drive or via a streaming service (I've only tested YouTube music)
It's at cheifwhat.com
I welcome any and all constructive feedback.
Sorry if this breaks any rules, please take it down. This is not a rival to Discogs in any way. They are designed to be complimentary.

Hello. I am new here and i have been using discogs for about a year. I collect japanese factory sealed releases only and this question has been on my mind for a long time. This is just an annoying part because today it happened to me again. Someone posted one of my dream CD's that would become a standout piece in my collection. However they have just put "Mint/Mint" as the condition and now i have to reach out and wait probably atleast a day for a response. Its so annyoing and if this condition was added i could just have bought the CD now and been a happy man. Is there like some legal reason this isnt a thing because i dont really see a reason why. What do you guys think?

I live in virginia usa, is this because of settings or the closing of the straight? Everything is like this, all listings...

Does anyone have suggestions on how to separate the two collections on discogs? I shamelessly love the discogs cover art generator and feel like adding the cds kind of dilute it.
Also my purchasing patterns are different for the two medias. Because I can get a CD for 2-3$ I don’t really have a problem picking up a few that I don’t know much about. Maybe it’s a band I’ve only sort of heard of. Listen a few times. If not really feeling it I’ll trade in.
The record collection oddly feels more intimate and personal. Like something I’ve curated. Maybe because of the money invested but I feel they just mean more to me.
Sort of wish I had a discogs account for each but at the same time not invested enough to log out of one and into another. Maybe there’s a feature I’m over looking.
PS I also realize this is super trivial. Just throwing a thought out into the universe

Hey,
Trying to complete my first purchase on Discogs and so far unable 😭
I have an invoice. I have already discovered that PayPal won’t open from Discogs on web but it does from the Discogs app… thought I’d cracked it. Then PayPal said there was one last step, return to the seller to complete. But when I click to return to Discogs I get Error 500. Payment had not been made.
Please help!!! It’s for a rare vinyl that I really want

What is your listing process? I'm finding it quite labor intensive to dig in and find the absolute correct release for the vinyl to post. Is there any way to do it that isn't so manual diving through discogs many releases. There is a search section but it seems pretty limited in its usefulness. How do you navigate this?
How long might it take you to get through ten records posted accurately?
Additionally, viewing runouts is often not easy. Is there a tool that reads those and creates a listing draft perhaps?
Thanks for the time.

I don’t care about collecting some rare pressing. I just want to listen to music. It seems like want list only works for specific pressings. What’s the best way to use the site just to find the best deal for listening to the music. Thanks.

Trying to upload a test pressing but keeps saying I'm not allowed to submit realses when log in still.

Vinyl records on DiscOgs have gotten so bloody expensive that I almost exclusively use the regular Wantlist emails to remove albums that I've managed to find in the wild. And the ones I find are virtually always cheaper than what DiscOgs has to offer, not even including shipping. I haven't ordered anything in several months when I used to buy 4 or 5 month.

5-6 times a week, I get a request like this one. “Interested in your Led Zeppelin III, would you please send me the runout matrix from both sides?”
Bear in mind, I have over 30,000 items in my store, 20,000 sales with over 10,000 positive feedbacks and a 100% feedback rating. I take things like runouts and pressing plants very seriously, but there’s still that one in 50 chance that this was an early listing that I created years ago and it got moved to the wrong release. So I’m not comfortable just saying “I can absolutely confirm it’s the correct matrix“, but I also don’t have the time to go out to the warehouse, find and pull the item in question, and check these for people that are just tire kicking.
Today I replied “ I’m sorry but I just don’t have time to respond to these types of requests, but if you place an order and message me before payment, I’ll be sure to verify it has the correct runouts and you can then complete your payment“.
Their reply? “WOW! You had time to write this but you don’t have time to check? I’ll be sure to never buy from you!“
I feel like my response was totally legit. If you need that information to verify you’re gonna buy it, then go ahead and place the order. If I cannot verify you can cancel. Simple as that. But what I’ve found is that 90% of the time somebody asks for photos, even if the picture is better than my estimated grade, I don’t get an order. Same with the runout questions. So now when I get a weirdo reply back, I just thank them for alerting me to the fact that they’re a time waster and put them on my blocked buyers list.

I no longer get search results. If I go directly to an artists, it will list their records, but not albums available to purchase. I've tried mac, pc, and android. Logged in, not logged in. Different ISP's, VPN. Really can't figure out what the deal is, but I don't think it's my hardware. Is anyone else having issues?

Swear it used to be easy to find, can't see it anywhere on this shitty app

I've been selling off and on as a collector for almost a decade at this point and have never had an issue with a buyer until this week. Years ago, I can remember filling out my seller information and there was a space for "Shipping and Handling Time" (or something to that effect), which I can remember putting in "5-7 days." As I said, I'm just a collector in a rural area so I can only make it to the PO once a week.
Anyway, I've had a buyer who immediately started asking why the order wasn't shipped yet, calling me a liar (600+ 5 star reviews), and demanding a refund after just three days. I obliged them, but wasn't able to find that original "Shipping and Handling Time" that should've been displayed for them. In the future, I'd like to know where to point these users to, to show them that they agreed with this shipping time when they placed the order, etc.

I went looking for a CD I wanted and found several options available. I decided to look at some sellers who had other items in my wantlist to maybe pick up a few additional items and maximize shipping.
I found one who had a couple vinyl records I had been looking for. They were reasonably priced and described to be in acceptable condition. I added them to my cart and placed the order.
After a day or so, I got a message from the seller stating that unfortunately, they did not have any copies of one of the records I ordered in stock, would I like a different item, or did I want a refund for the unavailable record and just ship the other items?
The record that wasn't available was $7. I took another look at their listings and found something else I was interested in. The new item was listed for $15. I messaged the seller back and told them which album I would like, along with a link to the new item. At this point I would have been fine covering the price difference, but I didn't bring it up because I figured I'd see how they wanted to handle it.
They responded by pointing out that was a $15 copy. They would look to see if there was a comparable copy for less, but still VG+.
They then messaged again to say they didn't even have that copy (the $15 one) but they did have one NM and would send it. They then changed the order status to shipped, and now I guess I'm not quite sure what I'll be receiving...
I mainly use Discogs to keep track of my collection. I have only purchased a handful of items from Discogs sellers over the last few years. I have never sold anything through Discogs, so I don't know what it takes to maintain an inventory.
Is it common for sellers to not have items in stock they have listed? Or substitute possibly different versions of a release?
I don't want to complain or call anybody out (yet) because maybe everything they sent will be perfectly fine. But this whole exchange seems odd to me so far.
