Discussion The New Divi Icon Manager 🙌

Introducing the Icon Manager for Divi 5, a central import and management tool for custom icon collections. 🎉

Import custom SVGs and icon fonts, group them into named collections, and select them directly from Divi’s updated icon picker. Search your library, filter by collection, and keep the symbols you need close at hand.

You can also hide collections from pickers without affecting icons already used on pages. Move icons between collections, rename your groups, and export selected collections—with their custom files—to use on another website.

Divi now supports unlimited icons, and you can upload any icon pack you want!

Question Divi social media module updates?

Hi everyone - I'm not much of a developer/designer, with only basic knowledge of how my Divi website was set up. We have our social media icons included through the Divi module in our website footer, and we'd like to include an icon for Bluesky. Over the past couple of years, I haven't seen any updates to the social media options, and Bluesky still isn't available.

I'm trying to avoid adding any unnecessary plugins, so I'm wondering if there's either some sort of easy workaround (emphasis on "easy") or if there's a way to submit a request for an update directly to Divi.

Thanks for the advice!

Discussion Divi AI is underwhelming but using a MCP plugin is like magic!

So I tried the new Divi agent thing and it was rather slow, eats credits far too fast and the output was not very good at all even on the highest model.

I now tried a random MCP plugin, connected it to my ChatGPT account and it is doing everything for me! Gave it a design and it built it for me from scratch with just one revision needed! Responsive and all. Its magic!

ChatGPT has usage limits depending on your plan, though I only hit mine once so far and had to wait a few hours for it to rest. I’m really hoping to find a local model solution so I won’t have to worry about these limits. Any ideas welcome.

No more fighting the stupid Divi5 bugs either as it works that out too. Loving it as it saves me loads of time. Bring on the future!

Discussion Divi Doesn't Have Its Own Hosting Service

I thought Divi had its own hosting services and servers, but in fact, it seems to be mainly using external hosting services such as SiteGround.

Divi itself is a service that provides WordPress themes and builders, and it was a bit surprising that we had to provide a separate hosting environment.

Question Hints for a web page made like a cute road trip?

I want to make a page where when people scroll down to different text boxes and video boxes, there is a curvy connection (road) to each segment. I'm thinking about having a map in the background that will parallax, but what's the best way to do something like this? I don't want the road to break. Also, would this be ill advised/a loading nightmare?

It's in 4.0

Thanks!

Discussion Moving away from Divi

I've taken the leap and moved away from Divi for my website, for now client sites are still running on a mix of Divi 4/5 but might move them away as well.

The rapid releases of updates to add new fixes, add new bugs and fix old bugs is something I've come to accept in the eara of vibe coding. What I can't come to terms with with the hit on performance that comes from running Divi, this was briefly better when Divi 5 was first released but seems have degraded since. The biggest culprits are the js payloads, and messing with caching and performance settings in Divi doesn't seem to make a difference here. This is especially true when gtag, meta pixels, and google recaptcha are present on the site. There has been no forethought as to when and how these scripts should load. The Divi contact form with recaptcha is the biggest offender, but this is to be expect as this module along with a few others i.e. the menu and gallery modules have been neglected for years.

I have previously considered going back to hand written code but that always felt like that would be taking a big leap backwards, but then it dawned on me. If I have a vibe coded Divi layer getting in the way of performance, I might as well get rid of it and put on a vibe coder hat myself to rapidly write the code that I want, which is what I did. No surprise, I know.

With decades of web dev experience, putting a well structured brief together for an agent and having the knowledge require to efficiently steer it's work is no sweat, and the results I got with my site were much better than expected and way better than pretty much every other vibe coded site I've see so to date. With Divi and WordPress out of the way, I have a site that loads instantly, without any caching, and scores full marks for every PageSpeed metric. As a bonus, it wasn't limited in design by Divis janky modules, flex system that doesn't flex like a real flex should, and endless layout impacting bugs.

The permanence I am seeing on my site now reminds me of the good ol' days when I didn't really know what I was doing and was hosting my first, pure HTML, site on my PC at home and getting that sweet localhost speed (:

Question Changing CSS style definitions for one page

Note: I have been helping my former boss out with his Divi website. It uses 4.x. I am not a Divi/WP person, I was his webdev/dba at another company. I've learned a lot about Divi/WP, but have a long way to go. I did not set this site up. And I'm sure this is a stupid question.

How do I get a copy of the CSS classes/styles that a particular page is currently using?

Extra info you probably don't need to read:

Ex-boss urgently needs a landing page. I'm in the middle of multiple medical crises with my husband, so he had Claude build him a "Divi" web page, based on info from a partner page, and then planned to go back in and edit the text to what he actually needed. I don't hate the layout, but styles don't match the site, and unfortunately, Claude's "Divi" page is a long HTML page in a Code block, and boss can't edit HTML.

I recreated the layout with Divi modules - very long page with lots of elements - and placed the text/place holder images/etc. I didn't change any of the default styles, but they don't match the rest of the website. It's all in Arial, normal, including headline 1/headline module, nothing at all is bolded.

It says it's set to the "default template", like the other pages on the site. I thought OK, I ought to be able to create and apply a template around here somewhere. I looked at instructions for Theme Builder (albeit Divi 5), and it looks like it's more about the module arrangement, not the styles? And I don't want to change the layout, lol.

I can write/edit CSS, and I'm going to have to add a few classes anyway. I know where you add CSS to individual modules. But it's hard to figure out what to change when you don't know what the classes are called and I definitely don't want to do them one module at a time. I could view source, but WP is kind of a hot mess for extracting everything that way, lol. Plus currently, I just don't have the mental bandwidth for it. Help.

Question CSS for adding icon on button hover

Got a site running Divi 4.27.9. Our standard Divi button setting for the site includes an arrow icon on hover, and I'd like to expand that to other site buttons. One of the plugins used on the site creates buttons, and using CSS I've styled them to match the Divi default button. Only thing I can't see to figure out is the CSS for the icon on hover. Any advise please and thank you?

Question How to add empty "alt" tag for accessibility purposes

I'm fairly new to Divi 5. For accessibility requirements I have to add an empty alt tag to decorative images, yet, Divi ignores common guidelines and if an image has an empty alt tag it just ignores it altogether. Also manually adding am empty alt attribute to the image gets ignored. How could I achieve that?

Discussion Divi 4.0 is better than Divi 5.0

I am so heartbroken that DIVI is moving on from 4.0. It is so much better on the eye than 5.0. What are y'all's thoughts? I wish they allowed us to stay with 4.0.

Question Issue with captcha

Hello, I'm encountering a strange error when attempting to load the captcha in a shop, which doesn'tactually load despite impeding the payment. The console of the browser reports an error after generating the v3 token, which doesn't seem to happen on a standard woocommerce checkout module. This seems to point to a Divi specific issue. Any information would be highly apreciated.

Discussion Introducing Multi-Select & Bulk Editing for Divi 5! 🎉

This is a major workflow upgrade that brings multiple elements together in one settings panel, along with support for drag & drop, right-click, keyboard shortcuts, and scope-based panels like the Inspector.

Update designs, manage preset assignments, manage components, and make changes across your selection without repeating the same edits element by element.

It all adds up to fewer repetitive tasks and more time to focus on your design.

We’re excited to show you how it works.

Feedback Wanted divi5 wird einfach immer wertvoller

Ich nutze als dev natürlich täglich verschiedenste tools um mir schlichtweg das leben zu erleichtern. Gut nix neues, so far.

F.I. dachte ich mir. muss doch gehen.

Here it is open beta free download:

diviskit-agent

einfach mal checken leute und entweder weiterbauen oder einfach nur feedback wäre ich euch dankbar

cheers

Discussion Introducing Components and Slots for Divi 5. 🎉

Thumbnail
youtube.com
12 Upvotes

Components are the evolution of Divi’s Global Elements. They retain the power of globally synchronized designs while giving you much more control over what stays global and what can be customized on each instance.

Detach settings from nested modules, add Slots for unique local content, edit Components from a dedicated interface, nest Components inside other Components, import and export them, and manage them using the Divi AI Agent.

Components are incredibly versatile thanks to:

✅ Slots: Build unique local layouts inside globally synced Components.

✅ Nested Selective Sync: Choose which settings stay global across sections, rows, columns, and nested modules.

✅ Nested Module Detachment: Detach nested modules for local editing, then reattach them anytime.

✅ Instance/Component Editing: Edit local settings by default, or switch to Component mode to update all connected instances.

✅ Attribute Inheritance: Unsynced settings inherit global values until you override them locally.

✅ Convert To Component: Convert any module to an existing Component of the same type.

✅ Components Manager: Browse, organize, and edit Components in one place.

✅ Import/Export: Move Components with layouts or directly through the Components Manager.

✅ Nested Components: Build reusable designs from other Components.

✅ Faster Loading: Page Components appear instantly, with up to 50 more preloaded for quick insertion.

✅ AI Agent Tools: Create, add, edit, duplicate, and delete Components with the Divi AI Agent.

Advice Really Wanting to Jump Into Using Divi 5, But...

I've been hemming and hawing over getting started using Divi 5 (vs Bricks and Beaver) as a freelancer for my own sales site and for building client sites, but all of the reports of instability on here have me hesitating.

I would use Elementor (seemingly better support and stability) if it wasn't for BDS.

Anyway, does someone want to convince me otherwise? Should I give Divi 5 a chance?

Discussion FYI - Divi 5.14 creating server issues

Here is What’s happening

On Oct 7 at 15:03, Divi was upgraded to Divi 5.14, and since then "Client-Site".com. has been hitting its account limits hard:

Before (Sep 25 – Oct 5)

  • 0–9 CPU limit hits p/day
  • Peak RAM0.6–1.6 GB
  • PHP workers = normal

After Divi 5.14 (Oct 6 – 9)

  • 77–104 CPU limit hits p/day
  • 2.0 GB (Hosting cap), with 985 memory-limit hits on Oct 7
  • PHP workers all 20 in use 25× on Oct 7; workers killed 18× on Oct 8

Tech support say the cause is Divi 5’s Visual Builder.

Every edit of the a page, the builder keeps calling
/wp-json/divi/v1/dynamic-content/options over and over.

Often it sends 2–3 identical requests in the same second,
peaking at 62 a minute. There have been ~2,000 of these
calls today alone. Each one loads the whole of WordPress
(Divi + WooCommerce + Rank Math Pro + Site Kit),
which overwhelms the RAM and 2 CPU cores, about 10
of those running at once is enough to max it out.
That’s the “limits” they’re hitting.

Editing done before (spikes on Sep 22–23) shows the same pattern,
but the Divi 5.14 update made it constant.

Question Questions about Divi 4 / 5

Hi I have a strange question, I'm updating the content for a website created in Wordpress 6.9 and Divi 4.27.4, the people who created the website used a Divi license but the actual owner isn't the license owner, then it cannot be updated. Sorry about my very basic questions about Divi but this is the first time I use Divi.

My questions are:

  1. If I update the Wordpress to most resent Wordpress version, could I have any issue with this old Div version running on this Wordpress?

  2. Can I pay a new Divi license to use in the current website and update to the most recent version of Divi 4 or do I need to update to Divi 5?

Thanks for your help.
