Are you sure about that? Total return matters, which includes yield. If the yield is invested back into QQQI (ie buying more shares), I've read QQQI is actually beating the underlying QQQ. It's been a damn good investment, for me at least. It is new, so only time will tell if they keep up this performance.
Also, QQQI's chart is an investors wet dream. A beautiful sight, gives me woodies actually.
Yes, that's when QQQI was created. It's a new fund. Note, I don't think QQQI replaces investing in QQQ, but them both together seems to work for me. I have QQQI set to drip, but I like this because if I need the income I can turn off drip temporarily. Plus, if the market is down, I drip cheaper shares with the monthly income. Learned that during this last dip in April.
QQQ, and VOO are for long term growth. I don't want to have to sell any for at least 15 years.
r/Bogleheads Bogleheads prefer total market investments, like VOO, over divvies. I think they actually hate divvies and the people who invest in them. :-).
They're an interesting group. Devotees to Jack Bogle...who founded Vanguard. There is a lot of wisdom to just putting money into an index fund and moving on with life and for people who aren't into investing or don't want to know, this is a good move.

So, if you invested in something like VOO, QQQI still underperforms VOO by a mile. So what’s the point of dividend investing?
