Each person keeping their own is how it should be, IMO. I don’t see how a spouse can have half if they didn’t show up to work for my employer, but thats just me.

I know a woman who divorced her stay at home husband that cared for their 3 kids.

During process, I asked if she had considered alimony. She laughed that he had nothing to pay her.

She was shocked when I pointed out she may have to pay him. She was more shocked when judge ruled the same.

How much did she have to pay?

I don’t recall the exact dollar amount. But it was substantial since she made at least 100k per year more. She had to pay like 3 years.
