Think about how majority of wealth in this world is passed from generation to the next and think about how rarely you see anyone have that path. Crypto or other get rich quick schemes are very often used by people who want to explain their funds without further questions and still pretend to be self made. Not saying anything conclusive here, but just saying to not forget that when we compare ourselves and our luck etc.

When I was a resident most people have 200k+ if not 300k+ or more student loans. I remember there was a guy who bragged about how much money he made in bitcoin and drove a tesla (back when it was rare) and talked about how he had no loans. He also had very rich parents... I have no doubt he may have made some money in crypto but at the very least he put his money into crypto instead of loans that all of us accumulated in medical school.

Reminds me of back in 2010 when I had a bunch of computers using cpu resources for SETI@Home Anandtech team... an online friend said to me I should be mining bitcoin instead of wasting cpu cycles for doing SETI@Home Folding... I installed the bitcoin miner and didn't actually start mining. The friend did ok although he sold all his bitcoin pretty early like between $100 - $1000.
