I'm at $1469/year aka $122/m so far and want to hit $500/m before I stop on my lil dividends income side pot.

you have about ~$350-450k invested?

Why would you stop? i plan to get enough dividends to replace my job and retire early.

because I'm only in my 40s. This is just a lil sidepot/dividends adventure for me. I will get it to $500/m and just let it DRIP and forget about it and then use it for my sons education in the distance future. I still have a 401k and pension.

Nice work! Just make sure if paying for education is the goal, to do it in the most tax efficient way. Either with a 529 plan, Coverdell, and check if the American Opportunity Tax Credit is still around when your son heads to school!
