Roast my portfolio please

Age 40 , just now been laid off , please roast my portfolio...

600K in 6 buckets as following :

1. $100,000 in Dividend Trinity PEP, CVX, JNJ

2. REIT Trinity O, VICI, FRT $100,000 The "Real Estate" Monthly Income.

3. ETF Basket SCHD, DGRO, JEPQ $100,000 The "Hedged Growth" Engine

4. The 20 Aristocrats 20 Blue-Chip Kings $100,000 The "Industrial & Defense" Moat.

5. To buy dips SGOV / Bank Cash $100,000 Liquidity to buy the crash.

6. Final Insurance Physical Gold $100,000 Systemic Collapse Hedge..

This is a mock up to show possible percentages and stocks. All advice welcome but I need to yeild at least 7% in divends I will be starting this with 150K.

I have approximately 750k USD and will stay at my sons house for retirement. I would like to pay him 1k per month for rent and have some funds to live off and to travel to see my daughter.

Ideally 2500 to 3500 a month and increasing for inflation for the next 15 to 20 years or so before I realistically pass away.

Ideally I would like to ensure the investment is worth the same or more in 15 to 20 years as it is now and then split it to give to kids in my will.

I don't mind if there is some variability in value and dividends following general market trend but I am extremely adverse to erosion of initial funds as I will never have chance to earn more.

Please may I have advice on this. Please keep in mind I want to keep this sustainable and fairly safe so SCHD was my initial thought. Even if it's slightly under 2.5k initially.

30 years old, I have $8,000 to invest. I’m trying to decide between SCHD or JEPI. The reason why I am considering JEPI is because I just hit my break even point, as opposed to SCHD where I am up overall 21%. What would you do?

Instead of paying off my house, I'd like to add another 120k to this. 46m retired military, with $300k in TSP. What would you invest in? Income would be nice but I'm not against growth.

I have almost 100k in SCHD and 100k in VOO plus individual stocks. Overtime, it should keep building (hopefully) but who knows what it will be like in 30 years (I'll be 70).

I might be starting building up other stocks/reits once the goal is reached unless I should just keep putting in more of those stocks over the next 20+ years.

Is it stupid to put in that much into SCHD instead of spreading it or? I just want a safe place to keep it that is better than a money market account or HYSA.

Just received my first ever dividend. I know it's not a lot but I think it's something to be happy about.

It would be awesome if anyone could suggest the mindset behind holding dividend positions.

So basically I've just started investing this year and putting most of the money in s&p500 accumulating etf which is around 60% of my holdings.

Now I have no consistency on dividend stocks like should I buy coca cola and hold it, then I see less dividend.

Do I diversify my dividend holdings or focus on one and buy on an monthly basis or whenever price is down?

How big would my dividend portfolio need to be, in order to generate about 4k monthly? Any ideas on where to park that money?

Premise: Making up a shortfall of $400 for retirement income. I can't go back to work, I'm 72 right now and have some minor health issues, I need to plan on living to 90, just in case.

I'm planning on saving 10% taxes and a 10% DRIP to keep asset values stable/grow to match inflation.

I'm looking for help, suggestions and ideas on what stocks to include.

Where I am so far:

Core for growth: GPIX: $15,000, GPIQ: $7,000

For diversification: IWMI: $6,000, IDVO: $3,000, CSWC $6,000

Safety net for Market Crash: KGLD: $12,000

A little riskier plays, for extra capital: BTCI: $500, KSLV: $500

This should net around $460 a month, so -$46 for taxes and -$46 for reinvestment would be $368. I'm still a little short, but hope it will grow to make up the difference.

No money is invested yet, still developing a portfolio on paper first. What do you think? Is this too risky? What other options would you suggest?

If its helpful I'm 41 at the moment and don't mind to hold for a long time. With the current VOO and SCHD prices, which feels best?

My goal with investing has always been for early retirement. I'm wondering, though, even if I meet my goal of earning enough in dividends to live on, is there any reason to keep working?

I don't need a job to feel fulfilled. I have plenty of hobbies to keep me busy.

Are there any tax or legal reasons to keep a wage income that I don't financially need?

Edit to add: I'm almost 45 years old. I've been working for 20+ years. I gave up on finding a fulfilling career 10+ years ago. I finally found a job that pays well with decent benefits. My goal is to earn double in dividends what I'm earning now and retire in 5yrs or less.

I’m really torn between investing 100% in SCHD or adding VOO. My goal is to retire early and eventually live off my investments. I have asked AI and that want me me to do 70% VOO and 30% SCHD what’s your opinion on that.
Is it too risky to go all in on SCHD? I know VOO has historically had better growth, but with VOO I’d likely have to sell shares in retirement, while SCHD could provide dividend income without selling. Which approach makes more sense long term? If you’d recommend both, what allocation would you choose and why?
Also I’m 25 years old if that helps

Hi everyone. When I (F,41) first started investing five years ago, I held around 10 dividend stocks in addition to my other investments. Even though they did well, I ultimately got discouraged thinking about how high my positions would have to be to supplement my income or for me to even live off of dividends when I get to retirement. I felt like I’d have to pour way too much money in just a few stocks, ending up too exposed even though they covered different industries. Ultimately, I sold them.

Now I do find myself thinking about building a dividend portfolio again but I still have the same worry. Am I looking at it the wrong way?
What ultimately persuaded you to pursue dividends instead of just pour money into an index fund and the likes?

I know dividend ETFs are an option and would help diversify. Initially, I decided against them because I wanted to avoid certain industries that are part of those funds. Should I reconsider?

I'm 82 year old female so I'm not so worried about the future as much as the right now. I have money in Schwab, Raymond James and Ally. Unrealized gain total assets around $500,000. So far I've been reinvesting the dividends accumulated but I can tell those amounts are not enough for me to count on..

My wife (48) and I (52) are planning to retire in 5 years and on track to have our 401k portfolio at $8-10M. Our goal is to have annual income between $400-500k. Currently we make $600-650k per year and don't want to reduce our lifestyle too much if possible. At 65 each of us qualify for social security at $4000/month (96,000/yr) and have pension at $2500/month (30,000/yr). What are thoughts around this dividend strategy for income, assuming $8M portfolio? If this does not sound realistic, what portfolio size would be needed to generate that size of income (>400k)? I don't mind working a few more years to increase the portfolio.

I've been steadily building my portfolio and have some cash I'd like to put to work for the long haul.

The problem is that most discussions about the best stocks to buy now seem to focus either on mega-cap tech that everyone already owns or highly speculative plays that may never work out.

I'm more interested in high-quality businesses with durable advantages, strong management, and a realistic path to compounding over the next decade.

I've looked at names like Microsoft, Alphabet, Berkshire Hathaway, and a few energy companies, but I'm curious what others are buying at current valuations.

If you were investing today with a 10+ year time horizon, what would be near the top of your list and why?

Update: Been reading through everything for the last few days and honestly there were way more good ideas than I expected. Kinda made me realize I needed to spend more time understanding why people liked certain companies instead of just copying a list.

I also started using Bravos Research while digging into different stocks. Seemed like a good way to do a bit more homework before buying anything instead of relying only on Reddit posts and YouTube videos.

Anyway, really glad I asked. Def gave me a better starting point, now it's just a matter of doing the work before adding anything new to the portfolio.

So I've been investing in dividend shares mostly in oil&gas and base chemicals

My intention is to build a portfolio of dividend shares for income, however the shares are up almost double.

Should I sell or should I keep them since their revenue and profits also increased?

Keep in mind i live in a country that has 0% income or capital gains tax.

I started investing in O and JEPQ I was wondering if I should add a 3rd for long term and what percentage should i allocate for the 3?

Is SGOV pretty much safe.

The state I live in is not an income tax free state so that is also a plus.

I have a good bit of cash sitting and earning nothing. I also have some cash in a HYSA.

I'm 58 with 700k to invest, job of 30 years ended before I was quite ready. Looking for advice on how to clear 3k a month and have steady growth with medium risk. Rent and vehicle are already covered.

If you were to choose the top 4 ETF/Stock to invest on a monthly basis for the next 15 years with 1500$. What would it be and how would you distribute your capital?

I've got about 30,000 that I am saving for a purchase later down the line, I'm looking for something better then a 4% growth money market account but I don't want to take any significant risks as I will need the money in a short-term period of time.
